How Cannabis Helped Me Learn Coding
Times are changing, and people are finally starting to catch onto the big lie about Marijuana. A cloud held above individuals who hold them selves at a higher standard but still required to explain their cannabis usage. Weed for me is instant peace from the ravaging thoughts that flood my brain. From the time in grade school I would battle with the ability to focus. Imagine sitting in class, and instead of learning, you’re dreaming of video game characters.
“I have found in my study of these patients that cannabis is really a safe, effective and non-toxic alternative to many standard medications.”
Philip Denney, MD
For me, the internet was the only thing that could sustain the constant need for knowledge and unlimited opportunity. Being born in the internet’s golden age I’ve never known life without it. An overload of opportunity comes uncertainty of which direction to take. A lot of experimenting was, and still is required. My method would be purchasing weed from the neighbourhood dealer. Smoke. Go home and create till I’m ready to pass out. To some this may sound completely irresponsible, but this method works for me. After all these years feeling the guilt manifested by society, I’ve come to accept Cannabis as my medicine. Cannabis had the ability to make me sit down at my computer and only focus on the task at hand. If I didn’t take my medicine, all I would think about is going out, girl drama and more useless thoughts. This was powerful for me, as it gave me the focus needed to learn how to code. With the good, came the bad and some of the propaganda can be true for certain people. For me, I started becoming way to comfortable being alone. Depression kicked in and sat comfortably next to my anxiety and ADD. The time came to give up my “bad habit”. I quit for a good year, made friends and felt better. The trade off? It took me months to learn new tech and flat out create. Ideas flooding my head interrupted the though process on projects that were most important at the time. I researched methods that can help me focus. I tried meditating, AirBNB retreats and more but nothing helped quite like Marijuana did. Insanity is doing the same thing expecting a different result, so this time I put my pride aside and found help. Marijuana is a hot a topic these days, so I did some research. I came across a bunch of clinics opening in Toronto and shared my story. They were all eager to help get my license, but I ended up going with Campana Care. They were the only ones who took the time to understand my issue, and started putting together a regime for me. For example; the difference between Indica and Sativa, specific strains for my needs, and even a schedule. Something as simple as smoking Indica at night makes a difference. This opened a whole new world for me, especially noticing the difference between strains. I ended up becoming a connoisseur. (The laws are completely different in Canada then in the US but during my research I came across HelloMD for California residents). To all my fellow hackers, I know we all battle with focusing and I urge you to get in contact with a clinic who can guide you. There is no reason to be taking chemically made medicine when there are natural remedies.
