I have over 26 years of proven law enforcement experience. I have served as the Deputy Chief of Operations with LMPD, Chief of the Pewee Valley Police Department and currently serve as the Chief Deputy of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. Having been second in command of the largest law enforcement agency in the Commonwealth and currently serving as second in command of the fourth largest agency in the commonwealth I am uniquely qualified to be the next Jefferson County Sheriff.
My wife and I have been married for 35 years and we have (2) grown sons and are expecting our 10th grandchild.
I lead based upon my faith and principles within the Constitution that everyone has equal rights and will be treated fairly.
  • Public Safety- I am committed to public safety by addressing quality of life issues that impact our citizens in the communities where they live. I have began implementing proactive units within JCSO that deal directly with these quality of life issues. I have also formed a JTAC Unit that directly enhances the safety within our courthouses.
  • Transparency- Upon becoming the Chief Deputy at JCSO, Sheriff James and I immediately purchased body and in-car cameras. These cameras accurately depict citizen interactions with our deputies thus enhancing public trust. We also hired a new Chief Financial Officer to more effectively manage tax payer dollars by enhancing the tax collection system and making sound budget decisions.
  • Deputy Wellness- At JCSO, I have began a new Deputy Wellness initiative. This initiative is a holistic approach to wellness by providing resources for mental, physical, financial and peer resources. A well structured deputy can more effectively communicate and provide services to the community we serve.
I am deeply rooted and invested in community engagement and relationships. The true measure of any law enforcement agency is the relationship it has with the community it serves. I believe in being strategic in recruitment and promotions to have an agency that truly represents the community we serve.

Be present and accessible within communities and work collaboratively with the citizens in those communities. Work to ensure community events are safe for all that attend. Establish working partnerships within the downtown business and entertainment districts, as well as all Metro Council members and their districts.

COURTHOUSE SECURITY

Providing a safe environment for all those that utilize and work in our courthouses.

WORK TOGETHER

Work with citizens and government agencies so that individuals that may fall into the civil, eviction and tax categories are treated fairly and with dignity.
