A protagonist is often intended to be relatable in some way to people. Its often hard for most people to relate with a villainous protagonist. Protagonists are usually not villains to begin with and the ones that are are intended to lose, or redeem themselves in some way. We don't live in a completely morals-free society where people can look at a work and think "this is not intended to have a message". If someone sees an anime where the protagonist is an irredeemable raping villain, they're probably gonna complain about it. People already complained a ton about Redo of Healer and that was a justified protagonist, imagine a full-on villain doing those things. Porn is usually seen as something without much value. Stories on the other hand, are different. But a story with a message like "Rape is good" sounds a lot closer to porn. Hell, in the west the obscenity standards in the law are based on seeing obscene materials as having no real value and being an overall net negative to society.
