UC Berkeley professor Hatem Bazian, who is National Chairman of American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), discussed President Trump's executive order mandating a review of Smithsonian museums in his August 22, 2025 Friday sermon at the Muslim Community Association in Santa Clara, California. He claimed that when the Zionists came to Palestine, they referenced the "genocide" of Native Americans as a model, and that Hitler had also cited the United States' "genocide" of Native Americans as a model.
Bazian is also co-founder of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) and a professor at UC Berkeley (see MEMRI TV clips nos. 12249, 12239, 12040, 12014, 11822, 11947). He heads the Muslim Legal Fund of America (MFLA), which represented the Holy Land Foundation, which has been investigated for funneling funds to Hamas, and five of its members served prison sentences for their terror-linked activity.
Hatem Bazian: "Two deep roots in this country that continues to be with us and have not been yet addressed, is the genocide of the indigenous Native Americans and the enslavement of the Blacks that were brought from Africa. And it's interesting when we speak about Palestine. When the Zionists came to Palestine, they actually referenced the genocide of the Native Americans as a model. Not only that, Hitler during the second World War also referenced the United States in relation to the genocide of the indigenous people as a model. So, the attempt today to erase history, to go to museums and remove the historical references, to literally burn books as a way of not confronting history is a process that we are seeing in front of us in real time."
