Korean charged with rape, murder in Angeles
ANGELES City -- A 24-year-old Korean was arrested last January 4 and charged with rape, physical abuse and frustrated murder here.
Jeon Byeong Ju, alias Olly Kim, was arrested by operatives of the Pampanga Criminal Investigation and Detection Group last Wednesday night inside the SM City Clark after her Filipina girlfriend for nine months filed complaints against him.
Rilyn Abalon, 23, and Jeon met in a bar in April 2016 and became lovers after two months.
The Korean left for his home country in October 2016 and returned to the Philippines via Clark International Airport last December 22.
Abalon described her Korean lover as an extremely jealous person who did not want to see her using a cellphone.
While in Metro Manila last Dec. 24, Abalon said Jeon slapped her on the face and had sex with her against her will.
Last Dec. 31, they were staying at Abalon’s house in Bgy. Balibago when he saw her using cellphone. They again argued and he slapped her face.
“Noong madaling araw, matapos naming mag-away ni Olly Kim ay humiga na ako sa aking kama at naiiyak, sinipingan ako ni Olly Kim at muli ay pinilit niya akong gamitin na labag sa aking kalooban,” the complainant said in her sworn statement.
Last January 3, while staying in a hotel here, the Korean saw Abalon talking with someone on the cellphone.
“Bigla na lang nagsiklab siya, pinaliwanag ko na pamilya ko ang tumatawag pero wala siyang narinig at sinampal na naman niya ako, parang nabingi ang kaliwa kong tenga,” she said.
“Mga ilang saglit lang nakatulog na ako at pinuwersa niya ako at pinagsamantalahan na labag sa aking kagustuhan,” she added.
The next morning, they checked out from the hotel and were walking towards Korean Town when he allegedly got jealous again and started shouting at her. This time, Abalon said she shouted back at the Korean.
“Nagalit siya at sinuntok ako ng tatlong beses sa aking sikmura. Hindi ako nakahinga at nagdilim ang aking paningin. Pagkatapos ay binaliti niya ang aking kanang kamay patalikod sa aking likurang ulo at sinipa niya ako sa kaliwang binti, sinakal niya ang aking leeg, umiiyak ako sa sakit at napasubsob ako sa daanan,” she said.
Abalon said Jeon must have thought that she was dead and hurriedly escaped.
A tricycle driver found her slumped on the pavement and brought her to her house.
The woman was forced to tell her father about the alleged abuses she had been suffering and they went to the barangay hall and to the Pampanga CIDG to file complaints.
Chief Insp. Reynold Macabitas, head of the Pampanga CIDG, immediately formed a team to go after Jeon, who was tracked and arrested inside Mang Inasal in SM City Clark.
The Korean was charged with rape, violation of the law that protect women and children, and frustrated murder before the City Prosecutor’s Office here which recommended his continuous detention.
