if you respect your fans and you respect your characters people won’t come after you. joss whedon didn’t gain all these haters because he like wore white after labor day. he offended people. lots of people. and those people have the right to get mad. im not saying he deserves death threats but implying that we’re all being mean and bullying poor little joss whedon is ridiculous. he’s a grown ass man and director of two avengers movies. he’s not some shrimp getting shoved in a locker after gym for no reason.

people dislike how they treat his female characters. they dislike how he’s tried to rebrand feminism. they dislike how he responds to criticism. so they voice their issues and what does he do? does he address that he messed up? does he listen to his fans? does he consider an apology? no. he deletes his twitter account. effectively the same tactic a small child uses plugging their ears going “lalala i cant hear you anymore!”

he’s acting like a child and anyone out there going “he’s just human too” yeah of course he is. but so are all the people he offended. so are all the people who cant have kids who are going to see the avengers and see themselves referred to as “monsters”. all the poc who want to see themselves in media only to see themselves slaughtered and injured in his shows over and over again or just plain not exist. all the women who can’t watch a show of his without seeing a woman punished for her femininity. punished for having sex. raped or assaulted. just because a female character is strong it doesnt make your constant assault on women right mr. whedon.

we’re tired and fed up with his race problem, how he treats women in media, and his awful attitude towards the feminist movement in general. until he grows the fuck up and realizes his mistakes yeah i’m glad he has one less soap box. i’m glad he deleted his twitter. and its hardly like he went on there much anyway so i don’t know why you are complaining. yeah he’s “human too” but “human” is not synonymous with “good”. he fucked up. sorry if we feel justified.
