I heard/read aboot this earlier and while I don't watch the series/read the manga, it is a bummer that one of the biggest and longest running titles in Japan could come to an end...Well the manga is ending in December, and I bet the animu will end shortly thereafter...
Maybe they'll do a few specials every now and then...
It still was a bit of a shock...Joe is gonna be devastated...
(Also, high five for getting the news from Japanator!! Love that site!!)

That's pretty sad. I never would've guessed this was going to happen. It really sucks to be in your fifties now, quite a few celebrities (or various famous people) are dying recently around that age.

Quite a few famous people are dying period this year. Not a good year to be even mildly famous.

Yeah, tis true...It's been a tumultuous year people dying...
Lets' not forget another mangaka that died earlier this year: Kaoru Kurimoto of Guin Saga fame...
She died of pancreatic cancer in May...Guin Saga is one of the biggest novel series in the world...With over 100(!!) volumes before her death, she helped popularize the fantasy genre in Japan...
I consider her the Japanese Tolkein since she had such a big influence on the fantasy genre, in Japan at least...

That's true, famous people are dying quite frequently lately, period. Then again, so does a lot of other people who die around the world. Plenty of people die everyday, it just so happens that famous people are dying as well.
