Mi-28A vs. J35XS for Swedish CAS
I'm relatively new at the game and play exclusively ground RB. I've reached the top of the Swedish tech tree and I'm at that point where I'm pretty fucking sick of CAS and of how many top tier matches feel like they get decided by who can spawn the most aircraft.
In those situations, I'd like to help my team have more of a fighting chance by fighting fire with fire and spawning aircraft of my own, but I really don't like air battles, so I'd rather not have to grind for hundreds of hours in order to get a top tier jet/chopper. So I'll just bite the bullet and get either the Mi-28A or the J35XS.
My question is, as far as ground RB CAS is concerned, which of these would be the better choice?

Neither, the XS is terrible for CAS, and the Mi-28a will take you up to 10.7, and I'm assuming you only have 10.0 tanks.
Thanks for letting me know about theJ35XS. I'm at 11.7 already. I wouldn't mind doing 10.7 with 10.0 and 10.3 tanks, as I feel that some of those hold up pretty fine even at 11.7.
If you already have 11.7 tanks, why not grind the heli tree with your tanks and then get the 35XS to grind for your jets?
In the research tree, there’s an option to switch tanks rp to heli rp.
I have the Mi-28A before fully switching it to the AHS.
The lack of laser warning and limited RWR band range kinda makes the Havoc pretty meh at 11.7.
Apache on the other hand, I usually run 4 stingers, 2 x AIM-9L and 8 x Hellfires, the fact that it’s able to detect Pantsir’s tracking radar is a bonus.
Forget about darken it’s a fighter with almost no cas capability.
mi-28 is great at 10.7 but at 11.7 its not really all that useful ( no thermals )

Your correct in saying that whichever side has more CAS can decide the match, the Mi-28 is pretty meh at doing CAS but the J35XS is an amazing fighter so you’ll win by denying the enemy the use of CAS by shooting it all down.
Very true, I hadn't thought of that. Anti CAS might be even more satisfying
Simple info that u might not know about is that u can grind heli using tanks this may be highly useful specially if u play ground arcade a lot. Another info is that sweden currently doesn't have a good cas except the top line grippen which get thermal pod and laser bomb. So if u want to play air in ground rb to deal with annoying cas i think j35xs is very good option specially for its br
Wouldn't it take ages to get it playing arcade, though?
You can also research heli with ground RB/SB by switching the points from researching tanks to heli in the research tree.
