You are only eligible to participate in this referral programme if:

To be eligible to redeem your accrued commission, you must have made at least one payment by credit card or app store to us for a MEGA plan — not in Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency or by way of a voucher.

If the referred user creates a new MEGA account as a result of visiting your referral link, for a referral to trigger a commission to you, that person must pay for a MEGA plan within 12 months of your referral, unless they have visited another MEGA user’s referral link in the 24 hours prior to making the purchase. In that case, their referral will trigger a commission to the user that created the most recent link that the user visited.

If the referred user is an existing MEGA user and upgrades their plan, for a referral to trigger a commission to you, that person must pay for a MEGA plan within 24 hours of accessing MEGA through your referral link. Note that yours must be the most recent referral link that the user has accessed prior to making the purchase.

You must comply with our Terms of Service to be eligible to receive any commission under this programme.

A legally valid takedown notice received by you means that you will forfeit any relating commissions you have earned.

A legally valid takedown notice received by a person you have referred, or any other Terms of Service violation by that person, means that you will forfeit commissions you have earned from that person.

A copyright strike on your account will disqualify your account from participation for 90 days, such that no new commissions can be earned even if referrals pay for a MEGA plan during this period.

Repeated strikes or takedowns on your account will result in accumulated commissions being forfeited, and we may suspend your account and disqualify you from participation in this referral programme either temporarily or permanently at our discretion.

Where we have paid or credited a commission to you for a referral and you or that person breaches our Terms of Service, we reserve the right to deduct that sum from future commissions payable to you.

We reserve the right to advise people that you refer to MEGA under this referral programme that you are receiving a commission for doing so, as required by New Zealand law.

We may close, suspend or change this programme at any time. Changed rules will apply to all future referrals. If we permanently close this programme, we will pay out all commissions due for payment under these rules within 90 days of closure.

Commission balances expire if not withdrawn within two years of being earned.

These rules were amended on 28 June, 2023.

A qualifying commission will have a 90-day wait period before it becomes redeemable. Any breach of these rules within that period or otherwise means that the commission may be forfeited.

Your accumulated commission balance must be at least €50 to qualify for a redemption.

All commission balances are gross balances. Where we are required by any law in any country to make a deduction or withholding from any payment due to you, we will do so and pay you the net amount.

Depending on your country and your existing plan, we offer either payment in Bitcoin or conversion to a MEGA Pro plan. For some payments, we may also need to deduct MEGA, bank, or other third-party transaction or processing fees before paying you the net amount.
