Another TFNation has come and gone! Thanks to all of you who came up to say hello this weekend - it really is rewarding to know that what I'm doing on here is reaching such a wide audience, from the littlest kids to the oldest fans! If you weren't there, or you missed it, I hope to be able to make my panel about the history of Beast Wars in the UK available on the channel soon, and perhaps we'll do a livestream version of this year's Matrix Test quiz. There won't be a Basics episode this weekend but gimmie a little time for my mind, body, and voice to recover, and I'll be back soon! This is the sort of thing my audience is likely to be interested in, but might not know about if they're not on other social media! Orders for James Roberts's book GENERATION MECHS, a nearly-500pg hardback chronicling the birth and evolution of Transformers fan culture, is currently open for orders. Featuring interviews with more than 50 people (Hasbro execs, comic pros, zine editors, and more) and over 30 glossy insert pages showcasing some of the stand-out fanworks of the era, it's "the definitive history of 80s and 90s fandom, analogue and digital, and exhaustively documents the genesis of the brand, its mid-80s high point, and its commercial (if not creative) decline."
