Aug. 12, 4:39 PM
The AP declared Crowley the winner once Hong conceded the race, removing the possibility of a recount in the exceptionally close race. At the time of the call, Crowley led by around 3,000 votes.
Aug. 12, 3:52 PM
An estimated 99% of votes have been counted in Milwaukee County and the race remains tight, with Crowley leading by less than half a percentage point.
Aug. 12, 3:00 PM
Around 28,000 absentee ballots in Milwaukee were delayed in counting because of a human error in uploading the results. Milwaukee County is the most populous in the state and Crowley, who serves as county executive, has maintained a slight lead there throughout the night.
Aug. 12, 2:13 PM
Crowley leads Hong by less than half a percentage point with 94% of votes counted. The bulk of the votes remaining to be counted are in Milwaukee County, where Crowley serves as county executive and has maintained a slight lead over Hong throughout the night. Relatively few votes remain to be counted in Hong's home county of Dane, home of Madison.
