I think the reason many people seem to be turning on "lore toons" is that I think the writers are biting off more than they can chew, and either don't know how to handle the massive tone changes or want to copy stuff they like, like Gravity Falls or Bojack Horseman.
new object show idea: unserious show with a unserious cast but suddenly the same show becomes angsty and serious halfway through and tackles dark themes with the same dumbass characters and you have to take it seriously or youre a negative media illterate droid
