Yeah it is known. And also it is known the pilot who actually was steering the ship at the time of the accident (the captain was sleeping in his cabin) and her co-pilot stayed in the ship and went down with it dying with an honour.
The first one to report the accident, a student, also did not make it.
It is unimaginable to think of all those young lives lost and the pain and suffering of their family members. As a parent myself, it haunts me.

Once we moved into a neighbourhood that I did not know was full of Mormon families. During our moving-in day, bunch of families showed up with food and snacks to welcome us to the neighbourhood. They never, not even once, shared their religious views or tried to recruit us. They were just being great neighbours. My colleagues told me that my neighbourhood was known as Little Salt Lake City among locals. They were lovely people. It completely changed my very much skewed view of Mormons though I would still never join their church. I just respect their beliefs and appreciate their kindness.

I had a near death experience decades ago. I had a VFib at a stadium.
Everything turned black with complete silence and no sensation whatsoever. But my awareness expanded outwards. What I initially perceived as the darkness, a void, was a stillness filled with mild euphoria- a complete balance - and the darkness was not “cold” but warm and comforting like I finally came home.
After the incident, I lost fear completely knowing what awaits me at the end isn’t pain or loneliness but being welcomed back to where I came from. It just wasn’t my time yet. Once you remove a fear of dying, a fear of living dissolves too.
Nothing to panic about. I know it’s easy for me to say. But know this- you only have now. That’s all we got. Don’t ruin it by worrying about tomorrow.

I don’t know where you are from or what your knowledge of EU immigration policies are coming from but you are very misinformed.
Denmark made it extremely difficult for long term residents to get permanent residency or be naturalised a few years ago and Sweden did too. As a matter of fact, Japan’s new policies are remarkably similar to that of Sweden’s although a little more generous. In Sweden, a married individual needs to qualify financially as an individual, not at a household level even when one is married to a Swedish.
Germany would deport permanent residents if they express their support for Palestine. It is a global trend that Europe was leading before Trump’s America or Japan.
But to answer your question directly, yes Japan’s understanding of fairness is different. Japan is a lot more generous than those European countries I mentioned above.

I completely agree with this mindset as someone who lived in many countries as a foreigner, a guest.
And it isn’t about countries. Any community or company. People anywhere don’t like changes and always reject outsiders coming in and telling them they need to change.
An outsider is a guest until one becomes an insider. And it is a choice that an outsider can make - to stay as a guest hoping one is being tolerated or to commit 100% to assimilate to be accepted as an insider if the host is willing. A guest cannot expect, or have, any entitlement beyond what the host is willing to tolerate providing.
The most frequent words I heard in many countries and entities when they tried to be inclusive is “tolerance”. Basically they were saying “please don’t shoot them dead when you see them” figuratively and literally. And I observed that the more “tolerant” the host entities are, the more needy and demanding “guests” became that eventually led to resentment amongst the host entity members towards the outsiders.
OP - Think about your family. If your parents invite a stranger to stay with you for a few days in exchange for something (money, service provided etc) and the guest demands to be treated just like your family members in every way while telling you your ways are wrong, how would you react? And what would it take for you to actually want to welcome this stranger to become a real family member?
It’s been this way everywhere for tens of thousands of years and we have not changed much since we lived in caves.

I had my 13pro battery and the camera module that developed dust slots replaced in an official Apple Store.
After about 90 days when the warranty for the work expired, the battery started to drain quickly almost like before the replacement then all of a sudden, with an OS updated, the camera module is no longer recognized as a genuine Apple part and that it does not do “portrait mode” any longer.

I used to work in the industry and held a management position.
What kind of designer/engineer are you? System, packaging, electrical, structural, fit and finish, exterior/interior, software or pure styling? What software are you skilled at? What industries have you worked in and what kind of vehicles have you designed? All that will determine what jobs are available to you and where (OEMs, suppliers, temps etc) before even considering Japanese speaking abilities. It is a very specialised industry both in terms of vehicle types (motorcycles vs trucks vs busses vs cars etc) and skills.
If you are really good at certain design software, like CATIA, you have a better prospect.

I lived and worked in Sweden for 6 years and came back to Japan for a family reason. I need to give up my permanent residency soon too as I cannot maintain my residency requirements there. It was extremely a difficult choice and I would definitely stay there except for my family needs.
Japan is not like Scandinavia at all and can’t even come close when it comes to job protection, human rights protection, health care and retirement - all good on paper but deeply flawed and unfair in Japan.
There are many job opportunities for Japanese speaking professionals in Scandinavia and in Europe. You can use “Japanese language” as a filter and do job search in LinkedIn and will find many positions.
I would see this as an opportunity and a luck.

Have you even looked into how these DNA ancestry tests are done and what the test can tell you? Do you know what D-M174 means? You at least know Ainus often carry 100% Jomon DNA because they didn’t mix with Yayoi (later arrivals through Korea, now a dominant Japanese bloodline) and they look totally different? Well, my dad is still walking around and so as his siblings. They are 100% Jomon.
I am 98.9 % Jomon and 1.1% European because my mom’s great grandmother married an Irish American.
My paternal line (my dad’ side) stems from a branch of haplogroup D-M174 called D-M55. Arrived in Japan around 20,000 years ago during the ice age. D-M55 is most common among the Ainu where it reaches levels of 80%. Yeah he looks kinda Ainu a little bit.
My maternal (mom’s side) haplogroup is M7. Among Japan’s first inhabitants, who arrived here over 30,000 years ago. This group reached Japan through India and Ryukyu Islands when there were frozen land bridges. My mom’s father is 100% Jomon.
Yes, I did a DNA ancestral analysis and that is why I know this. Looking at my family tree, there are many 100% Jomons walking among us in Japan today. Like millions statistically.
As a side note. I also have more Neanderthal genes than most people and this must be from the Jomon ancestry.
All this means nothing today though. We all came from the same place originally and just took different paths to get here. It’s a moot point to discuss what makes Japanese genetically as most Japanese today are not original inhabitants of the islands. Yeah, Japan does not handcuff and arrest legal permanent residents for no reason but for the color of their skins, separate them from their kids and send them to a prison camp in Sudan without even allowing an access to a lawyer. “The population crisis” is one of the biggest lies told in Japan.
I believe we need to accelerate the population decline for Japan to be a happy wealthy nation. There is no need to accept immigrants just to maintain population. Japan should welcome any immigrants who want to be in Japan but under very strict rules like in Sweden.

Reputable companies use 敬語internally and it has nothing to do with hierarchy. It’s 礼儀。 A director would be using 敬語talking to his subordinates or even to a college intern in those well managed companies. The formality drives clarity. You can get away with being 無礼 as a non Japanese but if they respect you enough, they would try to help you like this colleague of yours is doing.

I agree with you. BUT the institutional racism is very much a Trump agenda along with anti-woke and anti-immigration politics. They are forced upon “allies”. I have learnt that the “color blindness” can be temporary but the bigotry runs really deep.
I had a friend who was dating an African American guy in college in Colorado. She said that her family members were very friendly to him and very welcoming to family events but if she ever married him, they would literally lynch him. I was shocked as she was NOT from a poor uneducated family.
Some Japanese are genuinely open but I have met some really narrow minded and spiteful people not unlike American racists. But these spiteful people tend to discriminate against anything different they can look down to like middle aged “stinky” men - kusaoyaji. So it’s them, not you.

The main issue is that though it is not illegal, Japanese don’t usually bury dead body. They cremate. Muslims want burial and don’t want cremation but most places don’t do it. So the only solution for Muslim in Japan to bury dead per their custom is to own their own mosque and cemetery. And that is what most people don’t want. A cemetery with rotting dead bodies near their homes.
It’s a cultural sensitivity challenge. Not a racism. But some on both sides want to make it about race. In general, it is wrong for guests in a country to impose their own customs to their hosts as an entitlement. After all, they are guests. A tolerant host should be willing to negotiate but it is becoming an emotional issue.

Read as cover text, it’s rambling. Read as a warning, the payload could be:

And in operational English:

That makes “say goodbye” do real work. It would not mean “I’m saying farewell to life.”
It would mean: Say goodbye to the objects. Get rid of them.
And “treat” could carry several ugly double meanings:
bait, lure, reward, “trophy,” compromising material
retreat - island/ranch/private hideout
threat - leverage, blackmail, danger
found nothing - they missed the real stash
choose one’s time - act during the window available
goodbye - destroy/remove/abandon
bust - raid/search/arrest
no fun / not worth it - do not keep trophies; do not risk exposure

That is a darker, but more functional, message. It explains why the note would be oddly theatrical: the ridiculous phrasing gives censors a harmless reading, while the intended reader focuses on the trigger words: FOUND NOTHING / treat / choose time / goodbye / Bust / NO FUN / NOT WORTH IT.
The weak point is still proof. The line does not plainly say “destroy evidence.” But if this was meant as a monitored-jail dead-drop, it would probably never say that plainly. It would use euphemisms exactly like “say goodbye,” “no fun,” “not worth it.”
So I’d refine the candidate hidden message to:
They found the old treat/retreat. Use the time window. Say goodbye to the trophies. A bust is coming. Keeping them is not worth it.
That is a coherent warning hypothesis. Not proven, but internally it fits better than a sentimental suicide reading.”

Japan basically is a an American colony. It is hardly an independent country. LPD is a US puppet it has been since the end of WWII. Yeah I agree that the U.S. has been the biggest pariah in the moden history after it built a country on stolen lands and has a right to exist as much as Israel does? Is that what you are saying? I agree. Germany does not have democracy or free speech. They seem to exist only to protect and pay Israel to atone for their sins.

I once went through a V fib. Happened in a crowded stadium so someone could save me. I experienced exactly the same peace and awareness she talks about. Pure awareness and no external sensations but expanding awareness nevertheless. No emotions - no fear or joy but peaceful, calm. I have lost any fear since then. I know that death is nothing to be fearful of, and that removed all the fears of living too.

I adopted bonded brothers together though I was planning to get only one of them. It was the best decision I made. If it is still possible, I highly suggest adopting one of her siblings, ideally her bonded sibling, and let them create their own routine with each other and with you. In this way, when you are away at work or sleeping, she won’t feel alone. I found it cruel to kidnap a cat alone from a family then isolate her in a human world. Imagine being kidnapped by space aliens alone and having to live in their plant alone. You may want to have a human company…

I agree everything you said except that Israel has given up a right to through having committed a genocide. They cannot be simply undone by removing the illegally occupied settlements and severely prosecuting those living there.
Israel has been committing, is committing this very moment, a Genocide that is very much like the one committed by Nazi regime during the WWII.
Just like how Jewish people were given a land to safely live and prosper after the WWII, Palestinians and Lebanese should be “given back” their lands to live peacefully and that is how Israel will earn the right to exist.

She is very much like what we think people of Israel are like.
Go where she was not invited but generously tolerated believing it’s her right to be there, see things she does not like - a group of humans showing compassion for other group of humans who are suffering - and she tries to convert the host’s religion; to be evil.
Yeah, now I see one in my country and feel relieved knowing I don’t feel guilty that I no longer have to support or justify existence of Israel as I had before while having a doubt deep down.

I agree with your position. It is delusional for any Japanese to believe increasing spending in U.S. weapons that don’t get delivered will make Japan safer or that Japan will be safer by provoking neighbors. And those who support military build up will NEVER volunteer to fight in Japan to defend Japan thinking missiles and anti missile systems are all we need.
Japan will have zero chance going to war against China or Russia. Like Ishibashi said, Japan must first become food and energy independent before thinking about spending any money on defense.
Most Japanese don’t understand that constitution 日本国憲法is there to protect citizens from politicians and government. Supporting government to take away citizens’ basic rights is so idiotic.

That is a very famous history anyone educated well enough knows about. Many of them “volunteered” to join suicide missions in Europe and later in the Pacific theatre. And the U.S. dropped atomic bombs in Japan because they did not consider Japanese as humans. So yeah, the U.S. is not friend of Japanese or Japan. Japan basically is a U.S. colony today.
But how many people knew about Japanese interment camps for foreigners? Did you know about it?

The U.S. opposition is spineless as Japanese opposition parties. Democrats are totally compromised by AIPAC and oligarchs. The U.S. has less freedom of speech and press. The U.S. has less human rights. You can be arrested and sent to Sudan for no reason but for the color of your skin or your political views. And is this headed by the most corrupt serial pedophile rapist and he is becoming more powerful everyday, getting richer everyday. I am afraid Japan is becoming more and more like the U.S. though.

First, Japan has been a racist island nation for as long as it has existed. During the WWII, there were detention camp for Japanese with foreign backgrounds (mixed race, naturalized citizens etc) and some were forcibly sent to the frontline as Kamikaze pilots. Institutional indifference and cruelty to foreigners have been as Japanese as Ramen.
But today, you don’t have a risk of being “detained” without a warrant for looking like a foreigner then sent to Sudan without any trial or legal protection, YET. And you won’t be forcibly sent to battlegrounds as cannon fodders just because you are not real Japanese, YET.
AND this will change if the current government stays in power, bring in Plantir and start tracking everyone. Japanese government is embracing the U.S. level of extreme bigotry, restrictions of freedoms of speech, absolute control over media and public opinions, and now the government sponsored violence and murder as revenues while rewarding only wealthy and corrupt politicians. Japan was not great but there is a great danger of becoming worse, like the U.S. or Israel.
Don’t apologize for Japan or whine and do nothing. Things are getting worse and will get far worse. Now probably is the last chance we can to do something about it. A military service may become a requirement for obtaining a PR and naturalized citizens may be the first one to be drafted when a war breaks out. The history likes to repeat itself.

I have two ragdolls and a British short hair. A robot vacuum cleaner with an automated bag emptying system has been a life saver. I run it twice a day.
Also I brush these boys at least once a day sometimes three times a day. The hair you collect while brushing them is hair you don’t have to clean off from your clothing.

I knew someone who was doing research and development related to a battle ground pheromone vapor distribution system. It makes you raged and get impulse to destroy everything in front of you. No prohibition for killing anyone. When the pheromone wears out, you don’t know why you did what you did. And you get PTS often leading to suicide. She was doing a research to remove the trauma (emotional stress) of the pheromone induced actions.
Scary.

One never knows what others have suffered and/or are suffering from.
She is probably dealing with her own demons and she was probably inspired in her own ways in Hiroshima’s rebirth.
You should leave her alone. You don’t have to like it but you have no right to tell her how she should express her feelings.
I used to live in Hiroshima and I am not bothered by this.

You are right - The young voters that Harris was trying to energise tended to support Gaza and were upset about her stance. She said she would not change anything Biden was doing and that came across as she would keep supporting Israel no matter what. Dems rather keep “supporting” Trump than to stop the genocide.

If I were to use more “awakened” language, what I am saying is that all the sufferings that you experience exist only in your mind. You created them and you keep them locked up in there.
Your fears, your pains, your sorrows, your stresses, all of them exist only in you mind and nobody else own them or can experience them. This also means you have a power over them. We give our sufferings too much power. We stop that and we will be free.
