Industry standard training facilities and genuine care and support of students with significant learning needs see students supported in appropriate education resulting in full participation rates across further education, training and employment. An innovative and extensive range of programs support and enhance student achievement including: Reading Recovery, Early Intervention, Middle Schooling, Transitions, School to Work Programs, a wide range of courses, Extension and Vocational Education and Training courses. Our senior courses enjoy small class sizes. Experienced and highly qualified staff are involved in analysis of student outcomes and data to strategically plan future directions for learning programs. With particular focus on literacy, numeracy and technology skills, programs are implemented to support continuous improvement for the students, cohort and whole school. Staff maintain currency of their expertise with professional learning and as consultants beyond the school. Our community is proud of the quality indoor and outdoor environments which have been refurbished to complement learning and recreational programs. The school is well resourced and works strategically to maximise the facilities and opportunities available to students. With fully integrated technology facilities across the entire school, students from Kindergarten access technology as a learning tool. Students develop citizenship and leadership skills through a number of programs including the Student Representative Council. They organise and lead workshops on a range of issues covering values, social responsibility and peer support. An exceptional history of student achievement, we celebrate many individuals and teams having represented the region, state in sport, public speaking, art and music. Students participate in the NSW Millennium Marching Band, NSW State School Choir and Schools Spectacular. Students have won national championships and awards in equestrian, art and public speaking. Our parents are valued as active and central partners in our school. We conduct a number of programs to assist parents in their role, and encourage participation in the Parents and Citizens Association and the School Council, which are highly supportive and proud of our school.
New public preschool,100 new public preschools: Boorowa Public Preschool
As part of the plan to rebuild public education, the NSW Government is investing $769 million to deliver 100 new public preschools. This targeted investment includes building public preschools at new government primary schools in NSW, to boost access to public preschool across the state. The 100 new public preschools will be co-located on public school sites, including new and redeveloped school sites, helping more children access a preschool program before starting school. Work is underway for a new public preschool at Boorowa Central School. The proposed location of the preschool is in the southwest corner of the school site. The new public preschool will provide a safe and engaging environment for preschool children. It will feature specially designed rooms and a quality outdoor play area. The construction of the preschool is expected to be completed in time for Day 1 Term 1 2027 to accommodate up to 40 children per day.
