Good news! I think I've managed to fix it,

Something very strange has happened to the opera extension version of fbp.opera have marked it as corrupted and disabled the extension. I'm not at my computer for a couple of days, so I can't investigate this right now. I expect it's just an error in the code rather than it being malicious. If you have Microsoft edge installed you can run fbp v38.4.0 on that. Hopefully Google will approve the chrome extension version later today, and you should be able to install that version in opera as opera can run chrome extensions

I've been investigating why the v38.4.0 update has been working for some people and not others. I have discovered there are currently at least 3 different versions of the Facebook Newsfeed code that Facebook is serving to people. V38.4.0 is working for the version of the code that Facebook is sending to my facebook account, but not for the other 2 versions of the code, which is what they are sending to the people for whom the release is not working. Unfortunately it doesn't look like its going to be easy to fix this.

It found 242 extras for me, took almost 5 minutes to load the page, then I got the error “Something went wrong.” In the end, I don't know if it's worth using FB Purity or just scrolling down the unwanted posts...

I've removed and re-installed for Firefox but it's not working. Despite re-installing, it does show 38.3 whereas most others are noting 38.4. Maybe that's why? Thank you!

I can't even find the FB Purity entry in Firefox extension catalog anymore. Did FF/Mozilla remove it entirely? Ugh, how do people use FB w/o this extension?

It is not blocking reels. Why? That is why I got this. Any tips?

Mine is working on Google Chrome on my PC, but not on Google Chrome on my Mac. Not sure if that's a me issue or a wait and see issue.

Good to see FBP working again. Strangely enough, although I got a handful of garbage postings on the first day after FB made the change, these quickly disappeared, and about the only annoyance I did notice was that "all comments" was no longer activated according to my preference. I did panic a bit when Opera refused to accept the new version, but saw the advice to use the Chrome version and now everything is fine again. Donation sent!

Hi, I'm sorry to ask this again but I still see lots and lots of suggested posts (those with an invitation to "Follow") on Firefox. Do others have that as well? Newest version installed, "Sponsored posts" and "Suggested posts" ticked in FB Purity. Would be grateful for your advice. Thank you!

Thank you sir - it works, but on the home page I have odd messages coming up on the left hand side, overlapping the regular content.

One says '2 days ago' ... they almost look like the bottom of a post, but there's only the two messages and they're in the LH column.

Just FYI - equally interesting is that they do NOT show up in group pages.

Opera Browser has blocked FB Purity, listed it has a dangerous extension.

I commented earlier that the update was working on Safari, but there are issues.

1. Sometimes FB will just display a blank page. Refresh page does not work. I have to Quit and reopen it and then it draws correctly.

2. When scrolling down the feed on a Map laptop, the redraw keeps "blinking" and often jumps back a couple of posts higher. Scrolling very slowly helps, but sometimes I still have to Quit and reopen Safari.

Donating now, hopefully you can come up with a fix.

Are web fonts working for anyone else in 38.4? I'm using Tampermonkey.

Opera is calling it malicious and refusing to let me install FB Purity and is actively blocking it.

Another report of 38.4.0 and seeing Reels again

Opera has taken a dislike to FB Purity 38.4.0.0. I get "this extension may be corrupted" but I can't repair it. I see "click on this icon to use it", but there is no icon.
