Omniromantic is an emerging term.
Omniromantic is a term that first emerged within part of the LGBTQIA+ community and is spreading among the wider LGBTQIA+ community. Its exact definition and name may not have stabilized. It may undergo major changes as more people use and further develop the term.

Omniromantic is a romantic orientation where a person is attracted to all genders,[1][2] sometimes with a preference for certain genders.[1][3][4] It is often grouped with other romantic orientations that involve attraction to multiple genders, such as biromantic, polyromantic, and panromantic.[5]

Etymology[]

Omniromantic uses the Latin prefix omni-, which means "all" or "universally",[6] and thus represents the range of genders that someone who is omniromantic can be attracted to.

Community[]

Omnisexual and Omniromantic Pride and Visibility Day is said to be observed on July 6th.[7][8] However, at least one source cites the same date as being for Omnisexual Awareness Day instead.[9]

Flag[]

The omniromantic flag was made available online as early as May 9th, 2016. The creator is unknown.[10] Since it superimposes a heart on the omnisexual flag, it presumably has the same color meanings.

Distinction[]

Biromantic[]

Biromantic, similar to bisexuality, is often defined as having romantic attraction towards two or more genders. When this definition of biromantic is used, it differs from omniromantic in that the latter can be attracted to all genders, not just a certain number of them.[1]

Polyromantic[]

Polyromantic is where a person is romantically attracted to multiple genders, but not necessarily all of them like with someone who is omniromantic.[1]

Panromantic[]

Panromantic is defined as having romantic attraction to all genders, similar to omniromantic. They are sometimes even used interchangeably.[1][2] However, some definitions separate the two labels by specifying that omniromantic includes preferences for certain specific genders and panromantic is regardless of gender.[1][3][4]
