nerinashopeRebloggedrqbossmanFollowpleonasmic-tautology asked:Hello, would you be able to share if there is a known release date for the filmed version of Hilltop Live?rqbossman answered:Hey,
I do not have complete control of this due to third parties involved. I can confirm the following though:
1) I have seen a video cut of Magnus Live: The Hilltop so I know it exists.
2) We requested a final pass from the third-party recording/editing company as we felt it needed some improvements.
3) There is an internal proposed release date this year
4) We only announce things we can guarantee so we won't announce the date until a fully finished copy is received from third party and sat on our desk ready to go.
I would have liked to release the footage during the Protocol hiatus but it's not been possible due to stuff beyond our control. All I can say is hold tight and rest assured there's not really anything further we can do to speed it up.619249

nerinashopeReblogged boltzmannssoftieskywalkerFollowi think the key difference between george lucas’s star wars and disney’s star wars is that lucas is a man with an ideology. someone with a point of view, and all that entails. which comes with ideas of revolution, anti-imperialism, challenging the status quo, cultural appropriation and racist stereotypes. complex and contradictory ideas because that’s how artists are: complex and complicated people. disney is not. disney is a corporation. a corporation can’t have ideology, because ideology defeats the purpose of profit. and when the only thing you do is to turn on the movie manufacturing machine before you sit down and plan what ideas are you trying to convey to the audience, then your results are going to be washed out corporate garbage. and because when you’re a giant corporation who only cares about selling to the widest audience possible, you can’t take sides. you can’t decide on an idea. because you want to sell your product to people who are on the entire political spectrum. which results in movies without ideology, without purpose, without soul. david-blogs-swI have been looking for this post for years after I came across it and it’s finally here and I need to reblog this because it is absolutely and entirely accurate.comebackali#as I always say: lucas was making a samurai film and a ww2 flying ace film and a western film and adding laser swords#because he fundamentally LIKED samurai films and dambusters films and westerns and 40’s adventure serials#but disney are making a ‘star wars film’ and adding nothing because it already had laser swords and they have nothing else to say#xerox of a xerox baybeeeee (via harrietvane)130,04937,501

nerinashopeReblogged r4diumgirlzharlequinj94FollowLanguage in FortunaWay too much of my time has been spent wondering why the fuck Fortuna has Latin, French, and Italian words all over the place, and my mind eventually settled on “because Corsica is also a place that exists in the real world, so why the fuck not”. So that’s what the Fortunan language is heavily based off of now. There’s still the fact that modern, standardized versions of French and Italian are also present on the island. And then we have to assume they speak English too in some capacity because foreigners. So now we have this, my awful attempt at justifying these decisions through the power of worldbuilding, wiki deep-diving, and being a linguistics nerd! This is in order of more or less how I expect the language evolution to go. Please keep in mind that I am in no way a language/linguistic expert so please be nice.Starting off with the first language of the island, Old FortunanThe real-world analogy here is Corsican because in order to incorporate a language that includes Latin, Italian, and French words, Fortunan pretty much has to be a Romance language. So basically, Fortuna had its own Vulgar Latin-based language during the time Sparda lived there. It’s actually the first human language he learned and spoke fluently.Given that this was around 2000 years ago, it was probably still more Latin-sounding than it currently is. I have also decided that this was when a lot of the natural landmarks and locations were named (i.e.: Lamia Peak, Port Caerula, etc.)A lot of old writings are written in either Old Fortunan or Latin. All of Sparda’s writings are written in Old Fortunan which is something he kept up after leaving, even if he did eventually learn other languages.Fun fact: Vergil learns Fortunan this way! When he was young and Sparda was still alive, he would have his father read him journals of his old adventures and the places he’d been. Vergil eventually retrieved these books when he started his quest for obtaining Sparda’s power and studied the language from them so he could go to Fortuna and get more information. He was a little sad when he realized the language modernized.Nero and Sera are shocked as shit when Vergil opens his mouth and starts speaking to them all “Shakespearean-like” one day and quickly start ribbing him for it because he sounds like he’s 800 years old.Similar to Vulgar Latin, Old Fortunan was never the language of the educated, but it was the language that was spoken so it eventually got standardized enough to have a written version, but spelling is not super consistent. The educated counterpart was Latin, which also served as the official language of the church at the time. While no one speaks Old Fortunan anymore, it’s still understood in the way that Shakespearean English is to present-day English speakers. This is because Old Fortunan is basically Modern Fortunan without the Italian and French influence so core vocabulary and grammar are the same.Modern FortunanThe official language of the island and Order of the Sword.Naturally evolved from Old Fortunan with occasional Italian influence. Fortuna really only had one invasion attempt on it and was super late in the island’s history so there was next to no effect on the language. The spelling got standardized; there’s an ongoing debate about whether it’s worth trying to rewrite some old historical text with modern orthography. It wasn’t a huge priority of the Order (because things were constantly being rewritten), but the topic came up again as part of the reconstruction and revitalization.Vergil is actually super useful in this regard because he’s used to reading Sparda’s old writings (which were already written pre-standardization and may as well be the Wild West when it comes to spelling) so he can breeze through anything as long as it’s legible.ItalianItaly is the closest mainland country to Fortuna and people have always emigrated from there so there’s a ton of overlap with the languages. In fact, Italian is mutually intelligible with Fortunan, so a lot of visitors who speak it have an easy time talking to locals. As a result, Italian-speaking foreigners are usually treated a lot better. This is the language foreigners are recommended to learn if they want to visit even though it’s not as necessary as before. It’s very much spoken only; the language is not used in any official capacity and never was. However, it is found on some occasional signage in the more touristy areas like the docks and nearby shops.FrenchThe presence of French on Fortuna is funny in that it exists in church settings only and most of the population pretends it’s not there. The story goes that a long time ago (we’ll say the early 1700s), some French-speaking missionaries heard of the island of literal devil worshippers and tried to come over and convert them to Catholicism. It didn’t work, not even a little bit. However, the Order of the Sword liked how the missionaries conducted Mass and adopted that and just replaced all references to God and Jesus with Sparda similar to the practices of the actual Catholic church ironically. So that’s why everything about the religion screams “Catholic” even though it by all rights shouldn’t be.France later tried to come back with soldiers under the guise of “the island barbarians perverted the word and rites of God”, but soon realized that the Order of the Sword was a) more militantly competent than expected and b) 100% willing to lead the enemy straight to the hell gates that occasionally pop up on the island and let the demons have them and c) dubious scientific practices were a thing even back then and no Fortunans complained as long as it was enemy POWs that went missing. There was a period when the aristocratic families tried to adopt the language as a way of differentiating themselves from the lower class, but again, it didn’t stick. (It lasted maybe one generation, but definitely not two) The only remnant of this is nobles occasionally having names taken from liturgical rites (i.e.: Kyrie, Credo)Foreigners also adopt church names upon being baptized into the Order because it’s usually easier than trying to figure out their name’s equivalent in Fortunan (i.e.: Agnus, Gloria)EnglishEnglish is also here because suddenly that’s what all the new foreigners were speaking. It only came to the island within the last 100 years so really only the young people can speak it competently. Older folks don’t bother.Foreigners who plan on immigrating are expected to drop English. Like, you cannot fully be considered a Fortunan until you stop using it.This mentality kicks in if you’ve been on the island longer than two weeks generally. If the locals consistently see you around and it doesn’t look like you’re leaving soon, they’re not speaking English to you anymore. The nice ones may start using Italian but English is done.Nico is subjected to this really hard, especially once her relationship with Agnus becomes known (also her name throws people off and they assume she’s Italian speaking anyway)Speaking of Agnus, he came to the island knowing both French and Italian which gave him a huge in with the Order.Lady was also subjected to this really hard back during her investigation into the Order pre-DMC4 which is one of the reasons why she had Dante take over. She stuck around too long and the locals just stopped speaking to her in English and she didn’t speak or understand Italian well enough at the time to continue.tekka-wekkaI deeply love everything op has to say. Posts like these are why I enjoy coming up with my own, overly-involved headcanons about DMC.2783

nerinashopeRebloggedenchantedchocolatebarsFollowAnonymous asked:Belos Redemption AU
Studying human culture, personally being in the human realm, Gus realized that for an ordinary human, Boiling Isles would not seem like a good place. Dangerous flora and fauna, the inability to eat most types of food (He got this information from Luz), the culture of witches and demons – any human would think that they were in a place that humans call Hell. Even Luz, according to her own words, at first thought she was in a bad place.
This made Gus think about what he saw in the Belos' memories. He saw what Gravesfield had once been like and what the Boiling Isles had once been like. Neither would be a good place for a modern human, for different reasons, but Gus, being a witch from Boling Isles, wasn't scared by what he saw. He wasn't even scared by what Belos was doing. (Here I should clarify that this concerns everything that Belos did or could have done in your opinion.) Witches have a different mindset and a different style of life, significant differences in the mentality, culture, habits and traditions.
He saw a man trapped in a terrible place and trying to make it safer. He saw a man who was starving because he couldn't find food that was edible. He saw a man hiding from the acid rain and praying that it would stop. He saw a man whose genius was hundreds of years ahead of his time. He saw a man who could not trust anyone except a Child from the Stars and his own blood, which betrayed him over and over again. So, what was the first thing Gus did after Belos talked to Camila? He apologized for what happened on the Boiling Isles. Not just for what Gus himself did on Day of Unity, but for all the witches. A decision that surprised Belos in its naivety, but which was a start to a beautiful friendship. And as I said earlier, Belos knows how to win over even those who hate him. But it's still easier when he already has Gus on his side.
Personally, it seems to me that this would be a logical reason why the HexSquad could forgive Belos in the Belos Redemption AU. It's still hard for Luz to accept, though.

nerinashopeRebloggedyangstbhFollowOkay so, I have this au where Gregory never died and was in a coma this entire time instead. The bullet missed his heart and the trauma of the injury and the multiple surgeries put him into a coma. No one knew about it because Manfred threatened everyone to keep quiet about it so Miles never knew. He couldn’t attempt another killing on his rival, it was far too risky, so he just pretended he killed him. He knew the chances of Gregory waking up again were very slim. He just hoped that the coma eventually killed him. So then the trial clearly had to run differently seeing as how they couldn’t channel Gregory since he wasn’t dead. It isn’t a far stretch for him to fake even witnesses at this point. He fabricated everything and had “Gregory” accuse Yogi so everything could pile up like it did in canon.
In any case, imagine when Gregory finally wakes up. It’s been over 20 years since the events of the “DL-6 Incident” and BOY is this man confused. Of course, the first thing he thinks about is his son, so after he’s discharged from the hospital after they’re certain he won’t randomly collapse and fall back into a critical condition, he went on a search for his boy. The first person he found was Phoenix, who is a defense attorney. Using that, he went to his son’s childhood friend, thinking Miles would be there too. That’s when he learns that Miles became a prosecutor instead of a defense attorney. Of course, he’s a little heartbroken because he knew it was Miles’ dream to become an attorney, but once he learned why , he was pissed . Though, he got over it pretty fast, especially once he reunited with his boy. It was all tears and hugs and “how are you alive?”. Gregory learned that Miles became the Chief Prosecutor (of the country like in the original Japanese games rather than the city in the localized version) and he honestly wept tears of joy. Even if his son didn’t become a defense attorney, he was still saving and protecting the world as a prosecutor and did so much improvement with the office.
And then the whole gang gets together and they have a little celebration for Gregory’s return, and God can you imagine Ray’s reaction to his mentor and “dad” being alive. Just hugging onto him and Gregory just laughing and patting his back and then they ask if Greg is gonna come back to work. God and can you imagine if both Edgeworth boys have to face off in court against one another and GREGORY GETS TO SEE HOW FAR HIS SON HAS COME AS A PROSECUTOR. But that doesn’t mean he’ll go easy on the boy. He is still a fierce lawyer. Imagine everyone’s reaction when they see how similar they are to one another. Same poses, faces, wORDS JUST ABOUT. Phoenix hitting the “wow… you really did turn out like your dad.”

nerinashopeRebloggedabluescarfonwastonFollowjazjo33 asked:What do you think Gregory would do if DL-6 played out modtly the same way, but Greg was knocked out and Manfred still took miles.Like. Once he found out about what Manfred did.abluescarfonwaston answered:I"m going to assume by 'knocked out' you mean like. In a coma of a length of time because unlike Muppet Miles Manfred can't just walk out with Miles, kidnap him and have everything be cool. (although... wouldn't amnesia Miles kidnapped by Manfred and raised by him while Gregory looks for his lost son be fun? Phoenix meets The Boy who is not Miles in Germany on study abroad that's just achingly similar to the boy that once saved him. Sure Manfred can't risk making him a lawyer but every time he sees Gregory's wane face he knows he's won. Except there's Phoenix. Except he didn't count on Phoenix) So Gregory gets comatosed for a considerable length of time. Since no one can take Miles in Manfred swoops him up and takes him back to Germany. He doesn't even get to visit. Edgeworth still grows up with endless guilt except this time Gregory wakes up. At almost the fifteen year mark.Miles- still consumed by guilt and unable to bare to show his face to his Father still goes out on that lake praying for benediction. Phoenix, who's been visiting along with Raymond Shields (who returned from abroad for Gregory) runs over to Gregory right after Miles turns him down for Defense.Gregory can't defend him (his badge would have expired years ago) but he asks Shields to- "If he's worried about Phoenix's inexperience then you're the obvious choice Ray. Although I'm sure Miles would greatly appreciate your aid too Phoenix.""I...""Heh. So you didn't tell him huh Nicky?""Tell me...?""That man is an Edgeworth in name alone. He's not your son anymore Mr. Edgeworth. He's Miles Von Karma now.""What?" The horror on Gregory's face was absolute."Who's Von Karma?"Gregory recovered. Face hard. Neither responded to Wright's question."Raymond I don't care what happened in these last Fifteen years. I don't care about what he has done. He will Always be my son. I am asking you to defend him.""...Even if he's guilty?" Phoenix mumbled. "Especially if he is guilty." Mr. Edgeworth's eyes were hard. Absolute. Sheild's nodded. "No one deserves to be alone." He bowed his head. Jaw trembling. "God knows I left him alone far too long already."They bring Edgeworth to the trial in a wheelchair. Miles refuses to look at him. On the second day they're celebrating the pretty much guaranteed win when Gregory rolls into the lobby. Miles is not Celebrating with them."Miles what's wrong?"And Miles just. Flinches away from him. "Don't look at me like that." Like what? "You have no idea who I am or what I've done in these last fifteen years. So stop looking at me like that.""Like what?""Oh what?! Did Raymond not tell you? How I had all his clients convicted without mercy? Or Wright! How I nearly had him sentenced to death for the sake of my record?! Did you tell him that?" His wild and furious eyes clawed at them. "No? Of course not." He grabbed his arm and squeezed so hard the fabric strained. "You have no idea what I have done. So stop looking at me like that.""Like what Miles?""... Von Karma was right." Four sets of Hackles raised. Maya's hands on the wheelchair tightened. "The guilty deserve to be punished.""But you're not guilty!" Phoenix threw his arms up. "You didn't kill Hammond!" "You have no idea what I have done."Miles confesses on the stand to shooting his Father. Gregory and Shield's try to console him. You were trying to protect me. I love you and you don't need to be punished any more than you've already clearly punished yourself. You were nine. If you think Uncle Ray is letting you serve a day for accidental injury while under extreme duress you're wrong kiddo."Nick what are you doing?""Getting the case ready. Sorry. But I don't believe your nightmare Miles. Something about this just doesn't add up.""Wright..."Everything is wrapped up and Von Karma is taken away. There's the "I don't know what to say." Line. "You could start by saying thank you." "Ah... Then... thank you."Gregory wheeling over to Miles. His son. His precious boy who still can't look him in the eye."Thank you sir." Sir. Sir never 'Father'. Not the sweet little way Father used to fit into his mouth. His chest aches."Of course son. I'm sorry I left you alone so long."That hand on his elbow tightened again. "I don't deserve that. You have no idea what I have done.""No matter what you've done Miles, you will always be my son."There are endless tears in his eyes when he turns. Finally looks at him. Drawing in sharp half breaths that do not fill his lungs. "Father."Gregory opened his arms and pulled him in. "My son.""My precious boy."1537
nerinashopeRebloggedkeineahnung-ichhaltFollowTatort Saarbrücken/Ace Attorney parallelsTo celebrate less than two weeks until FdG airs, I finally took the time to proofread this text about parallels between Ace Attorney and Tatort Saarbrücken that I wrote almost a year ago and then somehow forgot to post. Enjoy!I have recently noticed that there are a lot of parallels between the relationship between Miles Edgeworth and Phoenix Wright, and the story of Adam Schürk and Leo Hölzer, so I decided to write them down. I have no idea if there is any overlap between these fandoms at all, so probably no one else will care about this but whatever. This should go without saying, but this has spoilers for the first Ace Attorney game, and the first three episodes of Tatort Saarbrücken. I’m also aware that all of these overlaps are most likely a coincidence, but I wanted to compile them anyway, because I thought that it was really interesting, and maybe someone else will think so, too.You may ask: Who are these people? I will try to summarise their stories first, and I will go into more detail later:Let’s start with Phoenix and Miles: They were in the same class when they were nine years old and became friends after Phoenix was accused of stealing someone’s lunch money, when Miles was the first one (and together with Larry the only one) to stand up for him and defended him in the subsequent class trial. A few months after that, Miles’ father Gregory, a defense attorney, is murdered and Miles vanishes (he is adopted by Manfred von Karma and presumably moved to Germany, but Phoenix doesn’t know that). Years later, Phoenix reads a newspaper article about Miles becoming a prosecutor, and he decides to become a defense attorney to meet him and find out what happened to him. They meet again when Miles prosecutes Phoenix’s second case as a defense attorney after not having seen each other for 15 years. After working two cases together, Miles is arrested as a murder suspect, and Phoenix defends him in court, even though no one else wants to defend him and he is almost the only one who is on his side. In this trial, he finds out that Manfred von Karma, the prosecutor in the current case, murdered Miles’ father 15 years ago after he got a penalty because of him. Then, he decided to adopt and mentor Miles, only to frame him for murder 15 years later as an elaborate revenge on Miles’ father. By uncovering this, Phoenix saves Miles from being convicted for murder. Now to Adam and Leo: They became friends after Adam defended Leo from bullies at school. Adam’s father was physically abusive towards him and beat him regularly. One day, he catches Adam and Leo hanging out together and beats Adam up so badly that Leo thinks that he’s going to kill him, and decides to step in by hitting him on the head with a spade. Adam’s father falls into a coma, and Leo and Adam burn the garage to hide the crime. A few months after that, Adam vanishes, apparently leaving Leo to think that he has died.Later, they both become police officers, Adam in Berlin and Leo in Saarbrücken. Adam returns to Saarbrücken, and they reunite after 15 years. After they worked on two cases together, Adam is arrested because he is suspected of murdering his father. Leo works hard to investigate his case, even though he technically isn’t allowed to, with their colleagues refusing to help him at one point and maybe even believe that Adam really is guilty. In the end, Leo manages to prove that Adam’s father killed himself and disguised his suicide as a murder to take revenge on Adam and Leo for putting him into a coma 15 years ago.Sounds familiar? Here are all of the parallels and overlaps between those two stories that I can think of, maybe there are even more that I didn’t catch:They met and became friends in school. Both pairs only became friends after one defended the other from bullies.Shortly after something happens to his father, one of them disappears suddenly. Incidentally, in both cases, the one who disappears is the one who saved the other one from bullies.Adam and Miles disappear after something happens to their father; Adams father falls in a coma, and Miles’ father is murderedThey both reappear after 15 years, during which the other one didn’t know anything about their whereabouts (Phoenix knew that Miles had become a prosecutor, but only a few years before they meet again).Phoenix and Adam both altered their careers to see the other again; Phoenix starts studying to be a defense attorney after he learnt that Miles became a prosecutor s that they could meet again in the courtroom, and Adam accepted a transfer request back to Saarbrücken. Both pairs meet again in their workplace, though Adam and Leo work together now, whereas Phoenix and Miles stand on opposite sides of the courtroom. Not long after they reappear, both Adam and Miles are framed for murder by their abusive father. The other one fights for them, even though they are (almost) the only person on their side, and everyone else is against them. Both Adam’s father and Manfred von Karma have committed crimes in the past and framed someone else for it: Manfred killed Miles’ father and both framed the bailiff for it and manipulated Miles to blame himself; Adam’s father robbed banks with a friend, and one of them shot someone in one of these robberies. Said friend took the blame for both the robbing and the shooting, and never revealed the identity of his accomplice to the police.Tatort Saarbrücken episode 3 is literally Turnabout Goodbyes, the fourth case in the first Ace Attorney game. Miles and Adam are both framed for murder by their father figure as revenge for something that happened in the past. Their respective partner takes their side and fights for them, ultimately revealing their innocence. They are also both happen after they worked together for two cases.Again, do I think any of this matters? No, but I realised that these parallels exist and had to get this out of my system. And I had fun writing this. If you notice even more parallels, please share them!925
nerinashopeRebloggedinvader-reggieFollowCan human!Bill tags be used more when writing bill having a human form cos the disappointment I feel when bill turns human halfway through a fic I'm reading is immense. No hate to human Bill lovers but I genuinely cannot get into human bill fics no matter how good the plot is like I NEED triangle bill and it's always super helpful when it's tagged so I can easily exclude it instead of going through immeasurable disappointment every single time I find a promising fic and it ends up having human bill when I've already invested alot of time into reading it.Shout out to Blood Chains by Fooeyburr on Ao3 for not only having Bill remain a Triangle throughout the entire fic but also changing my life @kindafooey the themes of that story were incredible and i LOVED bill's characterization57100

nerinashopeRebloggedckret2Follow✨⚠️ Wasting Away Again in the Goldilocks Zone ⚠️✨If you're new here, this is one of those "human Bill in the Mystery Shack" redemption fics: Bill illegally escapes death via reincarnation; the Shack crew imprisons him til they can figure out how to kill him; but they won't, because Bill's gonna make friends with them and literally everybody else in town. Whether they like it or not.Featuring!! The slowest redemption arc you've ever read; "human" Bill that ISN'T fine with being trapped in an alien body; show-style episodic plot structure; individual plot arcs for characters you've never even cared about; so canon compatible we even include the dang coloring book; and so TBOB-compatible over a year before TBOB came out that I'm considering taking up a position as the Oracle of Delphi just so Apollo stops barraging me with dodgeballs.New chapters every other Friday, 5pm CST! Old chapters edited, updated, and posted to AO3 on the alternating Fridays! Yes that's a chapter either on here or on AO3 every week! Yes that includes this week! For art, doodles, upcoming scene excerpts, and posts about characterization & plot plans, see my #bill goldilocks cipher tag. For the fic itself, you can read it on AO3 or here on tumblr. If you started reading this fic on AO3, go back and keep reading it there. It's the more up-to-date/accurate version of the fic.Keep reading293941,419
