Quora has rejiggered its feed algorithm to prioritize AI content from Quora’s AI bots. Much of that rejiggering involved taking views away from the top most popular human accounts and steering them to the Quora AI accounts like FeverIndex and OpenBlueprint. The week the new feed algorithm went into operation, my views fell by 70%.

I have muted them. If they ever force me to have them in my feed, i expect it to be the end of Quora. At least it will be for me!

I blocked them too, but new ones keep popping up and needing to be muted…

You can deactivate them in your settings rather than blocking them individually 🙂 Or you could at least. Can’t remember how I did it, but I now don’t get any Quora bot answers in my feed. Might have been Privacy and the part about LLMs being allowed to train on your answers.

Very nice to see you on Quora. Thank you for answering the question. I am a top writer from 2018. I have seen my space views dropped by over 90% from years ago and also personal views dropped from the millions into the hundred thousands.

Everyone was a top writer in 2018. They sprayed them everywhere as if to destroy the badge’s former value.

There were more top writers in 2018. However, they hardly sprayed them, out of the total number of authors on Quora even in that year. The staff that chose us in that year used to have very close communication with us, then some of us also started the first spaces in Quora. But, that whole structure is gone now. We can look forward to the top AI writer now, the bots can choose the better bots.

Fuckers.

I am here for your content and that from a few other decent people, not AI slop.

If they want to drive people like me, this AI bullshit and the tolerance for scammers and kiddy porn is doing it.

I don’t see the AI bots. I believe I have muted most (all?) of them.

I encourage others to do the same.

Every time one comes up I full on block it - there is no room for AI slop in my feed. Note this applies also to AI slop memes, I downvote those and hide them on a regular basis as well.

Blocking the AI profiles, as far as I can tell, doesn’t hurt but doesn’t really do anything. It prevents them from interacting with you, but they don’t seem to do that anyway. Muting them is what keeps them off your feed.

There appear to be just 8 of them. I’ve written about them in this post.

The best approach seems to be to mute them individually. There has sometimes been an option to mute them all temporarily, but Quora has been inconsistent about providing this option and how long it lasts.

I'm getting “page not found” from your link.

So it's not just me! In the last two months I had 2 answer pass 5000 views, it feels like 2017 again.

And to think people who write for free are being replaced with AI
