about

The Great Circle is The Corneliuses' 9th single, developing the band into a completely new direction of richer and lusher instrumentation. It is the first and only single from their upcoming album 'Vague Messages from the Idealist'. Featuring three b-sides; one wholly original and unique to it, a second which is a complete reworking of the earlier track Abandonment (titled Finally Alone), and thirdly an alternative version of Pagan, the main version of which will appear on the album.

The cover art features the paintings 'God Speed' by Edmund Blair Leighton; which forms the scene on which 'The Martyr of the Solway' by Sir John Everett Millais looks onto.

It was released by Heafod Records (catalogue number H0020a) on the 5th of August 2026.
