CLEVELAND, Ohio — Three men, including a father and son, have been arrested in connection with a shooting on Cleveland’s West Side that wounded three bystanders and damaged multiple vehicles, authorities said.

Cleveland police said the incident occurred around 8 p.m. on July 25 in the 1900 block of West 45th St., where a 24-year-old man was detailing a vehicle for a customer. According to police, an unidentified man approached him from a nearby residence and demanded he leave the area. The confrontation escalated, and the man left but returned shortly with another individual, police said.

During the second confrontation, Venancio Camargo Jr., 46, displayed a firearm and pointed it at the 24-year-old victim, firing multiple rounds, police said.

The gunfire struck a 37-year-old woman inside a nearby residence and a 42-year-old man standing on a neighboring porch, authorities said. At least three vehicles were also damaged, police said. No other injuries were reported.

Officers arrested Camargo Jr. at a nearby residence after he dropped a firearm near himself, police said.

On July 30, Second District detectives and the SWAT unit executed search warrants at two nearby residences, arresting Venancio Camargo Sr., 75, and Daniel King-Camargo, 21. Multiple firearms and ammunition were recovered.
