I do listen to my songs especially during the productions and depending on the song I do listen to it multiple times after finishing it.

I do like my songs and I do like to listen more but I am so lazy.

And what's annoying is that I keep listening to my song before even finishing and polishing things sometimes when what I need to do is to finish polishing and mixing.

So I really don't understand some people saying they don't like their songs...

In a way, anyone can have a black/white thinking but what exactly should it be defined.

What I noticed when I talked with people who can't hold multiple ideas at the same time, they are not so precise about micro things.

How I see is that when you are constructing a building and the foundation is not so precise, the outside, how it looks can be very specific, just one rigid building without much flexibity but internal structure is a mess.

It's not necessarily always like this but I saw this.

In a sense, the outside is pretty much black and white but the tiniest elements that they hold are fragile and ambiguous, so their macro level view points are not so black and white.

While for me as an INTP, I do care about precision. When it's 90% correct it's just 90% correct and that doesn't mean it's 100% correct.

But caring too much about the precious often means that some foundations are so rigid.

When there are little to no flexibility in micro things, often time, what we construct can be more flexible.

In that sense, I don't think INTP is a black and white thinker at all.

And when it's taken as a black and white thinking it'd be either the idea is right or wrong.

Do Android phones count?

Nobody really mentions it and termux dies frequently on my daily driver so in that sense it might not be exact 24/7 (it might be possible to monitor it from another android phone)

But it's been great for me with Opencode go.

I could make python flask web apps, scraping can be done, I can make a movie file with HyperFrames as well.

Android phone can install small Ubuntu or something so you can run some arm compatible apps there and Hermes can control them too.

I also feel it's safe because it'd be a bit hard to break android itself without root permission.

I first thought about having VPS and I'm still willing to have one if it's free but Hermes Agent on my phone is quite powerfully.

Yeah, it was probably just a way to say it.

Mirin is indeed used a lot instead of sugar but it's supposed to be subtle so it's not something we use the term sweet especially the overall taste is salty, but if that's what makes people have such generalization, then that would be that.

And it could be somewhat regional too. Tohoku people don't use mirin that much so they might say everthing tastes like mirin...

I mean indian curry could have source of sugar, like they could use honey, sugar and fruits. There are sweet curry indeed but that doesn't make it everything is sweet.

For udon it's mirin that is used and it's subtle, it's not supposed to drink it. How much you use tonkatsu sauce is pretty much upto you and I don't even use sauce at all actually so I just eat it without sauce unless it's miso Katsu which I like and is probably quite sweet. And corn pizza isn't everything, and if corn itself is considered sweet then any food is sweet in such logic... There is tamagoyaki but there also is medsmayaki...

Karaage isn't sweet either. Onigiri omusubi natto tofu yakizakana aren't sweet...

I really don't understand this claim as I'm Japanese. Ramen is not sweet, Udon is not sweet, soba isn't sweet, Katsu isn't sweet, miso soup isn't sweet, shushi isn't sweet, pizza isn't sweet, curry isn't sweet, what is sweet?

Edit

Okay, people really do down vote my comment so let me be clear.

Typical Japanese breakfast

Miso soup: no sugar no mirin

Tonjiru: no sugar no mirin

Fish: no sugar no morin just salt

Natto: depends, if it's just soy sauce, then no sugar.

Rice: no added sugar nor mirin

Tofu: no sugar no mirin

Tamagokake Gohan: no sugar no morin

Medama yaki: no sugar no mirin

Sashimi: no sugar, no mirin

Onigiri: no sugar, no mirin

Daikon oroshi: no sugar no mirin

Neko manma🐱: No sugar no morin

In comparison McDonald's hamburgers have sugar in buns. So if you count them as sweet food, then many Japanese food is indeed sweet but certainly not everything if you really think about what the Japanese breakfast looks like.

Edit 2

You guys are right. Japanese Indian curry is quite sweet indeed 💀 And an Indian/Nepal curry restaurant I often would go to actually was not sweet and the restaurant name had salt in it.

It's complicated. Each county has very different reasons to have a low birthrate.

In East Asian countries except Japan, having a single child is often optional for their choice due to educational cost or social structure.

Historical single child policy China has essentially changed the social norm, society is not made for having multiple childrens in a family. For South Korea, having single child and focus on the child for competitive society is often considered an optimal choice rather than spending money on two kids.

Japanese birthrate is low because so many people aren't married, yet having two childrens aren't so uncommon. This is big because the number is doubled by that compared to the society where having a single child is the norm.

That said, I think it's very difficult to grasp why this thing has been happening in many countries.

I did read wikipedia pages about logical fallacies and other logic related stuff fairly extensively back then and since some parts in maths and computer science are about logic, I know some of them.

I'm Japanese and love Indian food and the great availability of Indian/nepal/Sri Lankan restaurants is one of the few things that I really appreciate about how Japan is when it comes to food.

This is very special because if you visit other East Asian countries, affordable indian restaurants are rare. Japanese people love curry and while Japanese curry is very different than Indian curry, still Japan is the popularizer of curry in East Asian domain, they don't love curry that much but without Japan they probably had curry even less, which makes Japan a very curry loving nation.

And Japan internally having two different types of curry co-existing, the authentic one and the Japanese one, is also quite amazing. This is a rare thing to occur. Oh don't forget we actually do have Thai curry too!

So if these restaurants are gone, that's terrible 😞

Anyway, thank you for coming to my TED talk

Image the negative outcome was to eat literal dog shit and get diarrhea instead of death and the game was held among 10 people in a room.

And also the question was phrased like if you press red, you get nothing and if you press blue, you have to eat shit and get diarrhea when more than 50% of people press red button.

Would you press blue? Hmmmm

my bruvah~

something → some ting

Small decisions tend to have small impact on you no matter which one you chose. This actually probably provides vagueness.

Or maybe we can Interpret it as a vague question to answer with lesser amount of information provided.

So therefore it's like an AI was given a vague question and struggling to reply for such a simple question.

I think the same thing could happen to INTPs. So it's probably not just anxiety. Narrowing the possibility is kinda hard.

There will be more brain rot. Thanks to AI we are able to make more things make sense. Everything can be explained well but because of that, now people need abstract things more. It's like people want philosophy anyway. This is inevitable.

The brain is just a part. Cells and nerves can hold some information or work like the brain. In that sense, the brain is just too partial to consider it's the same as mind.

I don't know a solution but I also have some sort of obsessive thoughts like that. I feel people hate me or they will hate me. However I think this is due to my Fe. I don't know how they actually feel about me and I'm assuming they hate me due to my insecure Fe. While that is what's going on but underlying conditions like depression could make this worse I think. I don't think it's normal.

But logically, it's just a bubble and they actually don't hate me nor hate you. Some do, some did, but like nah.

Yeah I don't know if it's a Se thing but I get it and I am struggling so hard in my country where people talk exactly like that due to the culture and the language. Maybe I might not struggle exactly the same way because as it's so common here, that, and there are not the hardest for me.

But when things are not specified, my Ne kicks in and I think about multiple options and that makes it hard to tell which one. I think this is a Ne thing for us and not having decent Ne could perhaps lead to more simplified, less specified use of the word that may lead to that kind of confusion.

To explain a bit, in Japanese it's common to have no subject and object in a sentence. We don't even use some common pronouns like he/him kinda stuff either.

I do not necessarily think that the japanese right wing is more vocal than the left wing. I would agree that depending on the platform, right wing people are more vocal and easy to recognize because they are just nationalistic and identifiable. At least they are almost anywhere.

But In fact the lefties are quite active on X as well. They have achieved trend words/hashtags on X/Twitter multiple times. I wouldn't say they are more vocal but their existence can't be ignored. They are more vocal for the demographic.

3. There's no "should." but

In a general situation, the person who cooks knows more about the environment, the kitchen, therefore when you think about the effectiveness, if the person who cooks washes the dishes, then it yields a better outcome.

And if someone who didn't cook handles the situation, there's a chance of sabotage etc because as I said there is an imbalance of knowledge as well as unshared interests between them, therefore there could be some sort of principal-agent problem. The outcome can be slightly compromised.

And knowing these facts these two parties essentially have their priorities, for example, for someone who cooked, you have to decide if you like the better outcome/management, the cost of doing it. You can save time if you delegate it.

For the person who didn't cook, washing dishes generally gains negative return and not washing leads to positive return, so for them, not washing them is the best choice unless there's another, future game. And in real life there are more things than that.

So if you put these into a matrix then, someone who cooked should wash it if that's fine and you want to maximize the outcome. But as I said there are other factors. For example if this was under a condition like "if you don't wash dishes then I won't cook anymore!" Then the game theory matrix changes.

If I were someone who cooked then I would be fine doing it by myself and if I were someone who didn't cook then I don't want to wash it.

Ultimately delegating it to a dish washing machine can minimize principal against problems so that'd be good.

I also think the op is INFP this is because there's reasonings coming from other people, tests, description, and asking people, which I think is Te.

INTP may have more analytical and annoying (as in lengthy) explanations. I have this and that and these are related to that but at the same time this has that and because that one is more like that so probably this is that while that is thought to be not that kind of stuff...

Btw the whole reason to write this is just to say your profile pic is cute.

I think IQ and MBTI are related in some ways.

I have read a free e book titled "How to Know Your I.Q. Level without Taking the Test"

And what the book says is basically a certain IQ range has certain characteristics. And when I was reading, I felt some descriptions can be associated with certain MBTI types traits/stereotypes/functions. The book says nothing about mbti but I couldn't help linking MBTI because I have also seen the giftedness chart of MBTI where INTP has the highest chance of being gifted.

For INTPs, I believe gifted (let's say 130-145) people are not so uncommon. (And people within this range are not necessarily always the high achievers) Synthetic thinking is what people in this range naturally use, if I remember correctly, which is more like "what if" kind of thinking, which can be associated with Ne.

And the range that is not gifted but the highest one sounded like XXTJ description to me.

Ok it's a generalization and thus it's a rough idea and IQ isn't just one metric as in there are verbal IQ, special IQ etc so it's just so rough.

My writing is also rough so it might be a sign of low IQ but anyways

This is wrong. You clearly don't know. Ten years ago It was very, very negative. Today it's still negative. I had to directly comment on this because this is upvoted a lot. (And mine is downvoted lol)

https://www.sankei.com/article/20181207-UY25PJ3EHRIF3GWGQVWWKSNZ2Q/

People hated China because of scams, bad quality products, unsafe food and food scandals, the catastrophic train accident, air pollution (that air comes to Japan), and the people (some didn't allow Chinese people to rent a house because they were problematic) People back then were like "oh it's Chinese souvenir, is it safe? I don't wanna eat that hahaha."

Do not put such a political narrative as if Japan started to hate China recently due to the politics.

I generally believe that mbti type is not affected by anything environmental but any experience shapes the person, especially behaviors (behaviors aren't cognitive preference), which then affects what type you get on an MBTI test.

And I think a traumatic experience could make them appear IxNx.

I saw someone somewhere on reddit saying something about glutamine receptors and INTPness about drinking alcohol.

And then a recent study says people with autism lack a certain glutamine receptor, like they have less of it or it's malfunctioning.

And often INTP and Autism share some traits in common.

I think traumatic experience affects glutamine receptors.

So, I am connecting these dots. But I think people probably don't understand what I am talking about...

There are many Japanese fictions without such things so I believe it's not a Japan thing or anything so special.

That said, I roughly can tell where it came from. By seeing some anime works around 80s and 90s, I could certainly sense the likings for SF, which is from the US influences and technical advancement that people back then were dreaming about.

Space development and stuff as well as curiosity towards extraterrestrial lives were surging. Alien invasion was a common Hollywood narrative and it gives you the sense of canonicity.

I think there are, like myself...?

I don't think I feel insecure about my incompetence or intelligence so I can't be type 5.

But likewise, I personally think any other types (other than 4, 5, 9) are possibly not INTP. I am also skeptical about type 9 INTP maybe they are ISFJ or something, I don't know.

I think this has almost nothing to do with INTP by itself. This is because

  1. Overthinking isn't exclusive to INTP

  2. There's this thing called Brain Chatter which is a common symptom or condition seen amongst people with ADHD or other brain related conditions, which I think should be treated, by doing meditation perhaps?

  3. Some people here often say that as Ti is the main function, it's too natural to even consider It's overthinking subjectively. Hence a lot of people here may say no to that.

So to answer the question, I do in a way that I hope that whatever brain/phycological problems I may have will be gone away but not that I think thinking a lot about things itself is problematic, well it's probably technically problematic as there is a feedback mechanism to worsen the condition.

Either way, this thing could be a problem that can be tackled from a different perspective.

Yeah this thing is debatable. I completely get some negative opinions about Japanese bread. But Japanese bread is good in a different way.

My home country is Japan but I have had bread in Europe, North America, East Asia and South East Asia.

I am certain that Japanese bread is NOT superior to bread in other countries, definitely not, but unique kinds of bread might be a bit fun to explore.

Yeah like there are obviously good or decent ones but some or many are just way too salty.

Honestly McDonalds is usually okay, or often even better than some random restaurants.

There's another soba chain restaurant at almost any station in Tokyo, I forgot the name maybe it's called いろり庵 or something and that one isn't salty and I felt it's pretty decent.

And while I said too salty, they might add something else to make me feel it's too salty or disgusting

Some ramen, too salty. I feel the majority of ramen is disappointing. I really don't get why so many people like ramen.

And Fuji soba. It's too salty sometimes...

I was eating some pepper lunch ish food and it was too salty💀 pepper lunch is usually fine tho.

Food tastes so bad I don't understand why it's so bad like it's so salty like what's wrong with them. Not every kind of food is bad of course and that's why I'm complaining. It's just terrible. I never felt like this outside of Japan.

That's another thing. Some religious practices can be beneficial, I believe there are neuroscientific studies about it. Such activities probably work like a meditation which causes some changes in neurons, like neuro plasticity thingy, which possibly makes you more resilient.

I don't know any actual studies but there probably are.

Believing or recognizing the effectiveness of religious practice and religion itself as a form of dogma are two different things.

Well, it's not about should or shouldn't. Remember it's a classroom setting.

Okay imagine the next class starts and you go and talk to your neighbor, and you say like nah I don't trust you.

Maybe it's okay he might be chill but maybe he gets so pissed and he might start school shooting. Or perhaps, his friends group comes to you and starts to bully you.

You don't want to get bullied.

It is not logical to trust that one person. That's the whole point.

Imagine your friend was sitting far away from you. After the class, you talk with her. She was told to believe something completely different from what you have heard from your neighbor.

How is that now? Your neighbor's statement is correct but your friend's got a wrong answer? You could trust what she heard instead of your neighbor.

Eh...is it? Okay, let's imagine you are in a classroom but there are 4200 students in the classroom. And a teacher asked them a question. And basically every student answered differently, and subsequently said like I am right, and you should trust me. Some students even said like my answer is right and everything else is wrong.

But anyway, you are in such a room with 4200 seats, and you sit in a chair. And because the teacher decided where students sit, you basically sit next to someone and you only can talk with him out of 4200 students. And this person says like I am right and you should trust me and ignore everyone else. Are you sure that you can trust him?

I don't understand why people can't do some simple math. There are many religions. According to google, there are at least 4,200.

Then you choose one religion because that religion was simply practiced there near your area. And magically it's 1 out of 4200 religions that is right, and everything else is wrong?

How can you believe it? And I assume any single person here doesn't practice my family's religion because it's not practiced anywhere outside of my country, for example.

So mine is wrong and so is yours. Or mine is right and so is yours. That's, either way, so absurd. Or perhaps one is right and everything else is wrong???

So many freaking people sacrificed their lives for religious causes and some simply died in natural disasters simply because they were located there, believing the god or not they freaking died when the entire town was gone.

It'd be rather ridiculous to think that the latter is correct. There's no mercy for calamities. So if I was invited to a religion, sorry but I don't believe I can win 1/4200 lottery.

  1. More yes but statistically speaking, compared to other countries, Japanese fruit consumption is so low, lower than many developing countries. So generally it's low anyway.

  2. Yes. Because of the price, people buy less fruits.

  3. Probably intentional because I only see the overwhelming amount of cabbage but not for literally everything else. At home it's not just cabbage. I assume this has to do with how the industry works.

  4. So at home there are more vegetables, but again statistically, vegetable consumption isn't high compared to other countries.

  5. I believe diarrhea is more common than conspiration.

This, to average Japanese, isn't necessarily unwelcomed. The Over tourism in Japan is real and this makes the hotel price insanely high.

Arguably the Japanese society is very Chinese friendly and safe for them but the Chinese people are partially responsible for the over tourism among other visitors. So a slight reduction in number would be rather appreciated.

Of course, not by the business owners who target specifically the Chinese.

I'm Japanese and there's no such distinction. It literally means to cut the head to us the Japanese. It's not interpreted as a metaphor. When we use such expression like 首を切る, this means either literally cutting head or fire somebody. And in this case its more of 首を斬る and 斬る means cut with a sword. And it's very hard to think it's a metaphorical expression Also 首を洗って待ってろ doesn't mean they want the head either. It's more like saying wait for a bad consequence, and this expression is only heard in anime. Actually Japanese people never really use such expressions because if you say it it sounds like anime. If what people here say is correct, like if in Japanese there's such metaphorical expression to mean something else than cutting a head, then what I can say is nobody really knows such an expression.

I could explain further if anybody wants.

This is because Japanese is one of the least efficient languages, to be more specific, the syllable to information ratio is so low. So the likelihood of shortening words is higher than other languages to effectively communicate. For example, セクシャルハラスメント has more vowels than the English counterpart. Just count it, so many!

It sucks there are more katakana loan words in modern days that make everything unnecessary longer to say and write, while there are pros, to be fair.

Well, sorry if there was any confusion but I am not young anymore after years of wasting my life here and I am away from social conformity because I'm not employed💀

There's no need to apologize because I wasn't offended and also I'm sorry if I sounded so blunt that make you feel the necessity to apologize, I thought it'd be okay because I thought maybe you too wouldn't get offended but either way...

I don't know, but if someone is introverted and pursuing intellectuality or whatever here or anywhere else, the person is bullied or outside of the group.

What you felt comfortable with was probably the kindness brought by Fe.

A recent well known female INTP anime character has been often talked about on the internet and quite a few people have said the character basically was reminiscent of a nerdy girl and cringe...

I do get what you mean, as in, we are not seeing individualities, novelties, uniqueness. It's not just you. Now what we see is more like the representation of 3rd and 4th Ne than 1st or 2nd Ne, like if it were 1st or 2nd, things could have been more genuine and real, but what we see is more of a copying stuff or weird stuff that doesn't have much novelty and uniqueness. So It's more of a conformity. This should make some sense because back then, only unique people could have thrived but now, the normies are there especially on the internet. So I do get that.

But what I'm not sure if this is due to the lack of the Ne ness because as someone says, it might have something to do with Fi ness. But again, when Fe and Si are preferred then Fi and Ne can be compromised so.

Like how? If you are so reliant on your personal experience, then what would you say to me who is actually Japanese and an INTP who rather despises the overwhelming ISFJ quality of the culture and the society for my entire life here? Social conformity? That's a pain in the ass or even worse for the native ones, potentially.

Well, you are entirely dismissing every other possibility that tells you Japan is very much not like INTP. Failing itself isn't the focus. How it is failing for decades is. Is it out of INTPness? No.

But sure you felt the vibes...

And I feel whatever INTPs traits you described aren't inherently INTP's. There are literally tons of animes so having some INTP characters out of thousands them doesn't mean much, especially anime isn't what Japan is like. I do not see any exact INTPness anywhere...?

INTPs are not stubborn. And I believe when an INTP sees another INTP, they would rather assume the person isn't stubborn, because we are supposed to be flexible...

This is so relatable, I can't keep saying funny memes while my entire life is a joke.

I think your idea, the core part, language limits humans is already well talked about elsewhere by smart or academic people. So I believe there are some analogies or researches about it.

And also that sensation, that you feel language is limiting, is possibly something one can feel when the person has certain conditions, I forgot but I think I read elsewhere, maybe these were like high IQ, ADD, or something else, which might be relevant to INTPs.

Or that could be something one would say when they use drugs.

And there's something called Linguistic relativity or Whorf hypothesis, which is related to linguistic diteeminism.

And now I think the first part is linguistic determinism.

And I don't know much about synchronicity... I mean I do know such a concept.

Before I discovered MBTI, I thought things shouldn’t be so controversial when everyone has access to the same facts and knowledge.

If two people share the same level of understanding of a topic, proper logic, which should not depend on the person because logic is logic, universal, should lead to the same/similar conclusion.

That’s why online arguments seemed absurd to me because one side just didn’t have enough knowledge, yet kept arguing.

But after learning about MBTI, I realized some people base their statements on things I don't really understand...

Hmmm, well...

What you described for Ti isn't really about Ti, and some descriptions sound like you have insecure Ne that is affecting your judging function which sounds like Fi and Te and not Fe and Ti.

For INTPs, Ne is more obvious as in we see other possibilities even without trying and notice what's wrong with others or my own opinions, and not out of trying not to be wrong.

And the fairly consistent use of the term feel, like you said I feel multiple times, sounds like you are not an INTP. And INTPs don't resonate, do we?

With an actual Ti, you would rather explore the logic of why this because that, rather than the arrays of random facts about you.

The writing style is not so objective. INTPs writing style can be more objective, if I were to write, I'd put I tend to..., it seems that I..., I hauve experienced..., etc because we analyze ourselves like someone else.

I'm not sure if you are ISTJ. Maybe you are ESTJ, or INFP or ENFP. I don't know. And I believe these types are actually similar to INTP in some ways, believe it or not.

Edit (I'm adding this) I feel I didn't explain why I said you sound like a Te user. With Ti, our logic comes first rather than external opinions, because others opinions are very unreliable to Ti users. For Ti users, when checking others opinions, it's more about conformations or testing, rather than we newly get ideas, like I lowkey had this theory myself but other people actually explained it.

But well I could be wrong about the interpretation of what you've written because I'm saying things from a mere impression I got from what I've read.

We the Japanese people don't receive tips because that's against the rules. It affects the accounting system. And also if anything happens, like they request to return money etc, we can get in trouble.

That's risky, to receive anything from customers. No, also making new systems costs lot when we only recently introduced a device for credit cards, another system burdens us.

What about old people. Old people can't even pronounce the word tip. What about the law. Oh excessive tips are going to be taxed. No, we need to tax on everything so allowing tips is basically money laundering.

And no, that guy who gets more tips is just cocky. So no.

I'm just joking but whatever, no, I don't think we are gonna have tips here.

I probably do not like it due to the inefficiency. According to my knowledge about it, it's actually less efficient than individuals think independently first, unless anonymity is guaranteed.

So I'd rather think about it alone first. It sounds like Ti.

It's like analog and digital, like optimized digital data looks like analog and if something is too analog it's a bit too random or too noisy. Optimized analog is more accurate like digital data with less noise and is tight. I'm too lazy to explain any further but it's like that.

It's not a good comparison as it's not a flagship phone but I don't enjoy pixel 6a that much and I have seen some negative comments, too, like relying too much on AI, so I am not sure about pixel phones in general about the camera despite frequent praises.

I am also looking for a phone with good cameras now and Oppo's Find x8 looks great but it's more expensive than LG V60.

There's Oppo Reno 14 which also has a nice telephoto with a cheaper price tag. Telephoto thingy is a new tech I think.

And some modern flagship phones, such as Find x8, have collaboration with camera brands for their camera Apps and I have seen insanely impressive photos.

Oh btw, I was walking around Shinjuku with my friend, there was a Japanese stranger who looked like a trans (I'm not so sure if it's the right term because the word is for western culture and we the Japanese have different words for them) talking to us and trying to be in a photo together.

I was intentionally speaking Chinese/English when I was there so that people don't think we were the Japanese. I thought that was why they talked to me assuming that we were just tourists from elsewhere.

It was a tourist place with a lot of foreigners so it wasn't a random place in Japan but it happened in Japan anyway...

They perhaps can but then yen will become cheaper. Japan simply isn't an economically good country. Realistically, $10/hour is too high for Japan. Top 10 OECD countries have $10/hour our higher and Japan certainly can't be that competitive. So to justify 1,500 yen/hour, $8/hour have to mean 1,500 yen/hour. So $1 might need to be as much as 180 yen.

It's just a theory so it can be wrong but I think INTPs' emotion is one of the deepest of all. And because it's so deep, we know how deep it can go.

Let's say average people can go from 0 to 10 in terms of the depth of the emotional range when INTP actually can feel 0 to 100.

So when average people feel 10, to them, it's the deepest, which is a very strong thing. and then INTP has the same 10, you think about the time you felt 90 which was strong and you compare these two. For INTP, 10 is kinda nothing, and you logically goes like oh this is maybe nothing to me. I am not saying INTPs are more capable or less vulnerable but I am talking about the depth. 10 is just 10 but INTP can internalize it and neglect it perhaps. And I believe a lot of INTP actually can be gravitated towards extremely emotionally expressive music.

Or it's just me.

Finally, some good fucking takes. And I kinda wonder what they would say if you post this to INTJ sub lol. Oh well, I might not be so emotionally intelligent to mention INTJ sub but I am nice to people.

But then there are a lot of mistyped people in popular subs for INxx.

And most INTPs are actually lurking.

And also, some subs come with a lot of posts like I'm so smart but everyone is so dumb and life is so hard...

It kinda sounds wrong to rely on these, like resonating these or not to tell if it's my type or not.

So combining these factors, I think it gives a mixed result.

And the fact that there are mistyped people keep using the wrong subs evidently tells that these people, despite possibly reading multiple subs, keep using the wrong sub without realizing it.

So, probably it's not that reliable.

Hmm, it's not necessarily from China, but from socialists/communists. And yes, that's their agenda. That Japanese guy is also a communist party supporter. It's getting really easy to spot these.

Well, I would say there certainly are more metrics, like yours, where Japan appears to be better. This one, which I don't know, is a complicated metric (like a black box) which essentially makes it difficult to properly understand what it actually implies, which apparently was done by an investment bank.

That's a good point. But it's not that there's a large salary drop, I suppose. in fact they are still better paid than younger people hourly.

Plus, since we do not know about the situation in South Korea, we can't compare. I also assume they have something that similarly affects the statistics. For example, South Korea has mandatory military service which could affect the statistics as well.

But the point is, in various metrics, Japan is lower, which includes GDP per Capita, as well as PPP based one, median income (depending on the source...), the minimum wage, house hold income, etc.

Also, without going further, we can simply compare the the salaries in age group. I also don't have the data but South Korea is higher in that too like salary in their 30's.

Considering the growth rate, any arguments, to compare these two countries, to have excuses like oh but Japan has this and that's why Japan is this and that, we are having will become meaningless because things will become even more clearer to everyone's eye in a few years.

Um, Japan being lower than South Korea isn't because of the non-working population.

Median income, which doesn't include non working people, is much much higher in South Korea. Also the average age in Japan is higher in Japan so naturally Japan should have more advantage in such statistics because the older they get, the higher the salary becomes among working people in general. Yet, Median income is low in Japan.

I kinda think there's no such things as deductive reasoning and inductive reasoning. These are ways to describe things. When the internal thinking process takes place inside your brain it doesn't work like that.

And INTPs aren't deductive thinkers nor inductive thinkers. When we see the first step and then at the same time you see the consequence simultaneously which later can be deductively explained. When we see multiple cases, then you also see the law there simultaneously, which can be inductively explained.

Also, it might depend on the person but not all the people think linearly, it's not like the A>B>C kind of stuff. Non linear thinking or synthetic thinking might be there for us..

Also, in case you didn't know, often psychology studies have very limited samples like this study. Historically it has been like this.

Therefore, this number isn't particularly small for a psychology study but it is objectively small hence it's a very limited sample number as you noticed and it is not something we should take as hard evidence nor anything. It's more like a tool for extrapolation or seeking the possibility.

If you understand that, then that's good. And exactly that's just that.

Among 351 Japanese undergraduate psychology students, there were higher levels of psychopathy and Machiavellianism traits...

Yes, that's it. That's a very limited sample. Not something you should rely on.

No...I never ever said that...what are you trying to say to me?

Hmm did you actually read the paper? I originally read this

https://sunblaze.jp/1763/geographic-difference-of-darktriad/

Also, this is just one of study with just an indication to support the idea. It is not a good idea to totally rely on external validity, such as studies, to reject or support my idea.

What I said is basically from my experience, anecdotes and external indications.

A very typical reddit moment...🙂

But anyway, having an impression like 日本人は性格悪い is not so uncommon by the Japanese people, maybe you can google and get the idea.

Well, sure cuz I'm Japanese, I could be mean, too. In fact, living here in Japan makes me mean, or other people living here too perhaps.

It's not about them, in fact nobody really talks about them. In general Japanese people are simply mean especially online. Japanese people are 性格が悪い (personality is bad)

There are personality related studies and stuff that actually do suggest such quality, so both from my, or perhaps your experiences and studies suggest it is the case.

(Apparently high in machiavellianism and psychopath in dark triad)

I didn't read everything but I appreciate the effort you put into writing it.

I honestly wonder what an INTP looks like who somehow actually behaves the way you described to get a better idea. Any fictional characters?

Yeah, I was thinking about that possibility, like one may just say it to just mean it's very certain/almost 100%. So I put "usually", thank you for the comment.

Given you are INTP (and I), I don't think INTPs are particularly weird. From an INTP’s perspective, other types might look weird, too.

We are weird in a sense. INTPs are certainly different from the average/norm, INTPs are not like normies. But anything behavioral has usually nothing to do with MBTI. So when other people think INTPs are weird, it's probably when the INTPs' choice comes out weird. (But other types also have that kind of stuff, too) Like things you like...

Or maybe when you explain your thought, other people find it weird because they don't just think like that, and they perhaps go like “eh, you are thinking that much?”

Also it's again from INTPs perspective but INTP characters in fiction aren't necessarily the weirdest...I think?

I think other types are often weirder, to be honest...Maybe I have met too many weird people

Ti heavy users bond by debating?

I don't think so at least about myself because when having a debate it's about the topic, the theory and the logic or information that we talk about, which have nothing to do with the person.

Using my Ti, it sounds contradictory to me.

Also when debating, it happens when having different opinions, and if both sides have similar ways of thinking or opinions, there isn't much point of having debate... So I feel that's not what happens to me...

Or can I?

I’m not sure what you’re talking about, but that organic rice thing you mentioned is barely practiced in Japan. Statistically speaking, organic farming is almost nonexistent here. (Oh, I’m sure JA loves organic farming — since they definitely don’t sell pesticides or own companies that make chemical fertilizers, right?)

That whole duck thing is, in my opinion, just propaganda to make people go 'wow, Japan is sugoi!' and pretend it's all environmentally friendly while in reality, you can’t find organic rice in any f**king supermarket in Japan. So what’s going on there, seriously?

None of this has anything to do with what I originally said, by the way.

Specifically, why it’s a regulation (I assume you’re referring to a requirement) that rice must be grown with high amounts of pesticide.

It’s not about a “requirement” but it’s about how much pesticide is allowed. You can ask AI or look it up: some crops naturally need more pesticide because they’re more vulnerable to pests, while others need less. Rice tends to fall into the former group.

Nobody said it must be grown with pesticides and of course organic rice exists. But what’s permitted, and what’s actually practiced on a large scale, are two very different things.

I think there’s some misunderstanding between us. It does seem like we both agree Japan uses more pesticides than it should. Same side, I guess.

The only point I wanted to make was that the statistic itself is vulnerable to such criticism.

I mean I am aware of that. I am just being critical here. My observation and analysis, and objective structure of the industry in Japan strongly suggest it is the case, but hard evidence would be nice to have so we can make anyone, especially a lot of Japanese people, who believe Japanese products are safe, shut the f up.

I mean, each crop has different pesticide regulations, and Japan grows a lot of rice but not much wheat, for example. Rice generally requires more pesticide than wheat, which is one reason East Asian countries tend to rank high in pesticide use.

While this statistic is interesting, each country has very different types of crops which require different amounts of pesticide. So it's very difficult to know how the reality is, while I do suspect Japan uses a lot of pesticide and food additives anyways...
