"Tetsuko's Room," which began in 1976, celebrated its 50th anniversary in February 2026. This program, which is synonymous with Tetsuko Kuroyanagi, has woven invaluable moments of conversation as Kuroyanagi carefully listens to each guest, listening attentively to their life stories and thoughts. Encounters with unique guests who have colored the times have delivered countless surprises and emotions, along with a warm lingering feeling, to living rooms all over Japan.
This exhibition, themed "With Love," traces the 50-year history of "Tetsuko's Room," focusing on the "connections between people" that have been cherished for so long. Through memorable scenes from the program and valuable materials, we introduce the trajectory of conversations that Tetsuko Kuroyanagi has forged, and the kindness and compassion that flowed through them.

With love to the children of the world, Tetsuko became the fourth person in the world to do so in 1984.
She was the first person from Asia to be appointed as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.
In 2024, I celebrated my 40th anniversary in office.
In this section, we will showcase the history of our interactions with children around the world.
We will introduce it with photographs and documents.

When we first started the show, I never imagined we'd be able to keep it going for this long.
