If you're a UK resident who bought the second Bridget Jones movie on PlayStation Network in 2010, you are shit out of luck. Everyone else is just fine. This doesn't affect Americans. 90% of the movies taken away are French language romance and comedies. The Right-Wing YouTubers you trusted didn't give you this context...did they?

All im saying is on principle, if they can take away anything that was paid for with the license to own, regardless what it is, it sets a precedent. If purchasing content does not mean I own it, than by principle, piracy is not theft. But I buy my movies on disc so im not trying to be a warrior for the cause and die on this hill. That's just my 2 cents, take it or leave it

Kind of organically mentally insulated myself against loss or feeling burnt since a teen to an old. No faith in longterm digital products, but my purchasing routine is to wait on sales/deals physical/digital, because I am into so much stuff. Something is always on a sale/deal or near mint pre-owned. Easy come, easy go when it's a song. Also not a collector.

If you're still playing consoles after this past decade of lack luster titles, always online, multi-player only, battle passes on everything, micro transactions, publishers destroying great franchises, and ever higher and higher prices: You're a sucker anyways. The reason video games are headed the way they are is because of your willing if not eager consumption. Personally I dropped off consoles back around Xbox1/ps3 era as soon as I saw this stuff. If you kept buying into this industry, your lamentation is invalid. There's no way you couldn't see the corporate greed and committee decision making seeping into everything, you knew they were going to keep trying to squeeze the consumer and you decided to stay on the train anyway.

No, they didnt because I got this from my uk friend sharing it from bluesky. Gamers are absolutely terrified because Sony is trying to transition to a digital only format and owning physical copies of games has been an aspect of the hobby since before compact disks. It's a major shift that gamers in general are very, very uncomfortable with and the idea of a digital only era where Sony can sell you something then take it away in an update you have to download from the internet is terrifying. Even a fringe case shows it's possible they can simply take something from your library without your consent if they want. Something that has never happened with steam. Though, Ill give your skepticism its due credit. Apparently, the movies werent even stored on the console itself. It was a license to stream it from the console being taken away from the account. Still, it's completely shitty to have thought you bought, for example, Terminator 2. On further research, it's not even the first time it's happened with this particular system. Still, I just want to impress the idea that it's gamers in the broadest sense who are terrified of leaving behind physical media pushing this. Not culture war jerks.
