TLDR, the 1.3 update comes out in July and 1.2 will be released for free with this post:

We recently ran into some issues within our QA testing of 1.3 that has lead to more development time being needed

Our original estimate was for late June, however this is no longer feasible as both Me and Aromatic have been busy with personal life

To keep it brief, I've had a business trip planned for the last year that takes place during June, our cut off for 1.3 was the 14th of june, since then it has come to my attention that there are quite a few bugs that break progression and don't allow players to revisit scenes. I don't have enough time to fix these before our cut off

As for Aromatic, he's been very busy moving half way across the US to a new home along with getting married recently. So as im sure you can imagine he's not had much time to draw or write smut recently, despite his insistence that he wants to anyways (He really wants to)

I understand if this news upsets some of you but id rather give it more time to bake than have it break

We will see you in July for the release and laying out our future plans with the game

Hey everyone! Just a quick update sharing that Southern Cumforts version 1.2 Stable is available for mac users! There's no new content in this version, just enhanced compatibility!

We'll have more news to share on the games progress on February 1st!

Hey everyone! 

This month has been a bit hectic with the holidays, but we still have some small updates to share on the progress of the game. At the moment Boydy is out celebrating the new year, he will return shortly!

 This month Boydy spent a fair bit of time implementing Klacie along with the stable interior. 

All of these assets have been put into place and we're going to hit the ground running this year by getting started on writing, making quests, and adding in Kacie's sex scenes! I've also started on making the sprites for Ollie and Maple, along with a loose rough sketch of the first sex scene with Klacie. I'd like to have caged and uncaged versions!

We're working to have dynamic interactions with Klacie where she gradually becomes more sexually frustrated if you neglect to unlock her~

Hello once again folks, its been a busy few months getting 1.2 to stable and getting assets ready for 1.3

Here's the breakdown of what's been fixed  and added in 1.2 for our stable release:

For the most part the time this has taken has been due to waiting on a fix for one of the plugins we use along with having to upgrade our unity version after the Unity CVE exploit, we have big things on the horizon for 1.3 as I'm sure you saw with our last devlog, speaking of. The two lucky horses that won the poll are:

This month were gonna try and release for two new platforms, Mac & Linux, however this is keeping in mind, we cannot test for Mac currently so if there's any major bugs on this release, we cannot replicate them on our end, for the most part however it should be 1:1 for the windows version, of course if you're playing on Mac or Linux and you find an issue, please contact us on the discord!

Aromatic Hyena-

This month I worked on polishing up the assets for Klacie and getting her ready to implement into the game! With her addition, we're also going to be giving her two additional outfits, along with her base outfit. We're going to have everyone vote in a poll in the higher tiers for which two will be added to the game! 

In the coming months it'll be time to start creating new intimate scenes for version 1.3! Can hardly wait to get started.

Hello again folks!


I've been busy getting 1.2 to stable, we've had some issues with a plugin we use not working correctly and causing issues with both save states and dialogue portraits.

Another thing we are going to address is: Cheaper versions of the devlog/Changelog, we feel like some of these devlogs and changelogs should be available to anyone supporting us, of course those that wish to vote in upcoming polls (Spoiler this devlog has one!) shall still need a Laugh subscription or higher!

 Of course, I've seen issues with scaling too so these have been fixed in the version I will be releasing sometime soon. I apologize for this taking so long, but I want to make sure when we say stable, it means stable. Anyways, speaking of stable, Aromatic has been working on the stable area of the game and brainstorming the equines (and bovine) that call the stables home, I'll let him explain what he's been up to!

Aromatic Hyena-

It's time we start horsing around a bit in this game! I've come up with a few design choices for the horses that will be available. For the next big game update, we're looking at implementing two of these lovely horses! We're still strategizing on exactly how much content we want to add for each of them, but the dream is to eventually have all of them in the game.

So, we're going to have our first community poll to decide which two of these four horses will be available in the next major update! The Poll will be available for the entirety of this month, and voting will be held for Laugh tier supporters and up!

In addition, I've completed the base interior design for the stable.  Each stall will effectively be a room complete with a bed and the personal items of the characters that live there. For now Kacie will also be residing in the stable also.

Looking forward to seeing who you'll all choose in the poll, and I hope you enjoy their designs! I'm particularly fond of Ollie!

Hey folks! This month we've been busy implementing new features and revamping old content, as was the case in our last dev log we have completely removed the fishing style minigame from all past animations for the more tried and true minigame, you can now edge characters and they respond to it, if you make them cum over and over again they even look completely dishevelled once you finally decide when to stop! 

Our costume system has been reworked too, no longer does the costume only apply to when you're in conversation but now also in world when you interact with characters, keeping this consistent is the plan going forward, we want each feature to have depth instead of something that is simply slapped on and forgotten about 3 or four updates from now.

As always however this takes time and admittedly it's taken longer than expected, since this was supposed to be a minor update after all. To which I understand, if you enjoy our game that much that you really want an update ASAP we must be doing something right!

As for communication going forward, we are going to be changing a few things

Regularly have Q&As inside the discord, we will post an announcement of exactly what time we are going to be on a few days before.These will consist of Streaming game progress and answering questions in a dedicated text channel for an hour or two.

Character surveys, we want to know exactly what characters from Aromatics character  roster you want to see in the game and what scenes we should add to already existing characters in the game.

This is on top of our regular schedule of putting out a dev log on the first of every month.

Firstly, some progress on the new sex scene with Nikki! This one will focus on that sunbathing scene. We'll expand the dialogue to be more interesting, if Nikki likes you, she'll let you rub oil on her and if she really likes you she'll let you hot dog her cheeks and if she REALLY likes you you get to have sex with her, AND if you're really sneaky, you'll be able to fuck her in the ass!

Of course, the whole time she's going to try and act disinterested, but with the new overstimulation features in the game you can expect that she might be more willing to admit how great it feels as time goes on. There's nothing better than breaking a bad bitch am I right?

 

In addtion I've completed the grab and spread scene for while Nikki is asleep!

I made some changes to Hibiscus's cowgirl outfit, I felt like the old design was a bit too flashy like something you might see from a cheer leading squad on the Dallas Cowboys. Thats just not Hibiscus's style she needed something more rustic and sensible. So I removed her top and changed the colors (lets be real that top wasn't covering anything anyway).

I also added in the disheveled emotes for Hibiscus, these will play when she's exhausted from work oooor if you made her nut a dozen times during your sexual encounters.  

I'm continuing to work on the in-scene clothing. I'm about halfway through those, but they really won't take long, and I can have fun with them. Like changing the tape Hibiscus is holding to a horseshoe instead! 

We're getting close to finishing up the artwork for the update coming in September, I can't wait for you all to play it!

Hello again folks, been a couple of months since we've done one of these, mainly because you're finally playing it!

We've been busy fixing bugs and issues but that hasn't stopped us from looking at ways we can improve as set out for our intermediary update

We feel that the old minigame for sex animations was both too distracting from the sex itself and didn't feel like we were giving you the control you would expect of a game, so we have decided to remove the “fishing” style aspect for a more tried and true version lets you have both more control and feels less like a race and more like a reward

Once again we've been optimizing the actual files of the game to make the install size smaller, this means we have more room to build new scenes and areas without bloating in size, currently we have reached about 2.5GB uncompressed which is about 400MB when compressed!

As you saw last month, we reached our start up goal, we actually flew past it! So a part of focus is going to optimize both install size and UI so this game is easy to play on mobile when we reach the goal to begin porting it.

Hey everyone, I've been hard at work on assets, we've been working on Nikki's creeper hours scene! Nikki sleeps during the day almost completely nude. So you'll be able to have all sorts of fun with her. Careful not to wake her or she might bite your head off!

I've also started work on the shower scene with Hibiscus, we may have a few different randomized versions of the shower scene so it might be different each time! Maybe one scene she's washing her hair; another washing her butt and another masturbating. 

I've also got a sketch of the stable!

I also completed a new foreplay scene with Hibiscus, which works as a fantastic proof of concept for our new system! I think you'll all be very happy with the change, as its more reminiscent of old flash style games. The dialogue system is dynamic which means that if you slow down or speed up the character will react to it! We've effectively made having sex with the character a game in itself AS IT SHOULD BE.

You'll be able to edge the character and overstimulate them which will include an orgasm counter. We also have plans to have the regular in game character sprite change depending on how many times you made them cum. For example, Hibiscus's hair being frizzed up and her looking brain broken after cumming 6 times. 

I'm very proud of the new system! I think this is a great step in the right direction. This system will be reflected on all other prior animations and future ones going forward!
