Brungle Public School
Brungle Public School and the combined Brungle Aboriginal Environmental Education Centre is in the Eastern Riverina twenty-two kilometres east of Gundagai and is one of the most successful small schools in the region. The school continues to move forward by implementing initiatives and providing quality education to help the children in a changing society. The school has a shared vision to have a school of thinking learners which includes students, staff and parents utilizing learning models such as Six Hats as well as technology and Learnscape. The Learnscape is an essential component to the success of the school. The program gives the school a binding central focus which unites the school and community as a whole. The P5 School comprises 15 families and has 27 students enrolled for 2010.There is also a playgroup and preschool. More than 85% of the students are Aboriginal and research by Charles Sturt University indicates the success of the school's programs in providing quality learning programs for the students. The school plays a key role in the operation of the Brungle Aboriginal Environmental Education Centre. The children are involved in the development of this centre through planning and hands on learning. Visitors are coming to this centre from around the world. Technology plays a major role in the educational programs at the school and the school is the centre of a regional educational network for numerous schools involved in the Country Areas Program. The school has won National online Science Challenges, NSW Tidy Towns Awards and competes regularly in Literacy Competitions. The school also provides professional development training for teachers from around the region.

LED Upgrade
The $157.8 million LED Lighting Upgrade Program will install new LED lights in up to 1,000 public schools across NSW. This means reduced operating costs for schools and improved learning environments and outcomes for our students.

Maintenance
To ensure the safety, reliability and longevity of our schools, every school across NSW receives maintenance. The Department undertakes preventative and routine maintenance every year, and repairs as needed. The Department also reviews the planned maintenance program for each school every year and reviews those items that are predicted to require work to help prolong the life of the school buildings and facilities.

School Upgrade Fund
The Federal Government’s Schools Upgrade Fund supports schools with the greatest need with grants for large-scale projects, such as building or upgrading art, music, technical studies, and sports facilities; enhancing playgrounds and outdoor learning areas; and new classrooms.

Schools Renewal
The $240 million Schools Renewal Program aims to accelerate projects that will improve the amenity of schools and kick start local jobs for local communities. This is a co-funded program, with each school contributing up to 50 per cent of the project cost.
