W.T. Snacks is a programmer and DJ. Best known for having been a former 4chan administrator, he has also ran several websites and was part of the Cookie Thievery circle.

His face and distinctive haircut have been shopped onto several memes (...Around Snacks...Never Relax!) and become an icon of Old 4chan culture.

Cookie Thievery[edit]

Name used for projects made by Snacks, 5, Ko, Rapidkimba and others between 2003 and 2005. A website was created circa 2004 to host a short lived forum and quotes database, later it was an archive of Snacks' flash loops and a Futallaby test board called 100chan.[1]

Midnight Snacks[edit]

Midnight Snacks is an Internet radio show produced by W.T. Snacks, created mid 2005. It airs on Tuesday nights at midnight US Eastern time. Snacks plays music from his collection of odd digital music and Japanese imports. The app and host website changed a number of times. First hosted on 8chan.net (originally made to test a 4chan update), the on cookiethievery.com before settling on midnightsnacks.fm

4chan's PHP Wizard[edit]

Snacks joined Team 4chan in August 2004 as the lead frontend developer, sometimes ghosting as sysadmin when the actual sysadmin, DJ Lucid, was unavailable. He reworked Futallaby to modernize the frontend into what is today 4chan's basic functionality (i.e. replying with an image) and developed the admin toolkit composed of FutaTools, FutabaLight and the ban management page. He also made Firefox extensions such as 4chanshit, based on DamageInc's Official 4chan Extension.[4]

Midnight Snacks was first unveiled on 4chan's /b/ board, with snacks famously stickying Radio threads and banning all dissenters. Arbitrary bans became his calling card, with moot revealing in the Otakon 2005 4chan Panel that Snacks had was first in the 'scoreboard', with over 1500 bans, 3 times as many as the N. 2.

Snacks saw himself turned into a site mascot, Snacks-tan, a blonde-haired anime girl wielding a massive Ban Hammer. Snacks-tan becomes one of the most widely recognized 4chan characters, being cosplayed at conventions as far back as AX 2006. (n.b. who the f came up with the design????)

Firing[edit]

In October 2005, unspoken frustrations between snacks and moot ended in a spectacular falling out over snacks' lack of progress regarding a "4chan map" (related to 4meet?), ending with him getting fired from the admin position and Snacks later quitting the team altogether.[5] Months later his friend 5 got fired over Midnight Snacks stickies.

"I won't get into details, but one of the decisions was that the Team (not the most important), which was an e-team of people randomly distributed all around the USA, was to move in together in a flat in NYC a la Friends so it would be easier to get the coding and the managing a lot easier. Plus it made sense as a lot of Teamsters were to start college the year after and NYC was definitely an option. So after the convention they all went to their parents (lol kids) and "came out" to their mom. The bottom line is Snacks' mom got scared and said you're moving with your auntie and uncle in bel-air. And that's all there is to it."

Whether it's true or just a joke statement, moot by 2006 had moved to Virginia to study Liberal Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University. There he and snacks made amends, rekindled their friendship and started hanging out regularly. He was also a guest at the 4chan Otakon 2006 panel, appearing near the end of the flash intro and again guest-starred in Otakon 2007. Snacks remained active on 4chan, making sporadic posts on /b/ and later /r9k/.

Snacks has jockeyed for a variety of Internet projects, from the 4chan /v/ideo Game Awards to (WIP)
