Ammaar Reshi

Hi! I'm Ammaar, a design leader and creator based in New York City. Check out my work below and get to know me a bit through this little site!

Product and Design Lead

2025—Present

Design Lead

2025

I lead Product and Design for Google AI Studio, Gemini's flagship developer platform. I own product strategy across our model playground and vibe-coding surfaces, create demos for major model launches (Nano Banana Pro, Gemini 3 Pro, Gemini 3 Flash, and others), and run AI education programs that teach teams across Google how to apply these models to their work.

Beyond shipping product, I'm trying to change how we work as an organization. That means vibe-coding demos and Figma prototypes, contributing directly to the codebase, and leading by showing rather than just directing. My belief is that design and product leaders should be able to operate both in the weeds and from above, and I try to model that daily.

ElevenLabs

Head of Design

2024—2025

Came in as the first design leader to build the function from scratch. Established product design practices, led a revamp of the entire platform, and personally designed the first iOS app. The brand and motion teams I built ended up producing content with millions of views, becoming a core lever for growth. Along the way, I spoke on the a16z podcast about voice AI, covered how we build and work, and started the ElevenLabs NYC office.

Design Manager

2021—2022

Senior Product Designer

2020—2021

Grew from IC to Design Director during Brex's hypergrowth years, leading design teams through the company's strategic pivot from a card product to a full enterprise spend platform. Shipped Brex Empower, budgets, reimbursements, and bill pay while also owning company storytelling and producing the launch videos that shaped how Brex showed up in market. This is where I really built my playbook for scaling design organizations while still shipping complex financial products with consumer-grade craft.

Product Manager

2018—2020

Product Designer

2015—2018

Joined at 21 with no formal design experience and grew into product leadership over five years. Shipped across Foundry, Contour, Beacon, Rosetta, and Gaia, solving hard data visualization problems for defense, intelligence, and commercial clients. Eventually moved from design to product management, learning how to deploy mission-critical software in high-stakes environments. Palantir is where I learned how to operate: stay resourceful, move fast in ambiguity, ship things that actually matter. It's the foundation everything else is built on.

Creations with generative artificial intelligence

The last time I was this excited about the potential of technology was when the iPhone first made its debut in 2007. It completely changed how we engage with our world, and I see similar potential in the artificial intelligence tools emerging now.

Storytelling and film are my passions, and these tools have enabled me to express my ideas in ways I never thought possible.

Using generative AI, I published a children's book for my closest friends, coded several apps with LLMs, created viral video shorts with new video models, and I'm excited to see what inspiration turns into next.

My AI-generated work has received worldwide media coverage:

Alice and Sparkle

One weekend, I decided to see if I could combine the AI tools I was exploring and publish a book. I used ChatGPT to help write and refine it, Midjourney to illustrate it, and 72 hours later it was live on Amazon.

Growing up with family movie nights, I went through movies like most went through books. If you're looking for recommendations or want to check out some of my favorites, head over to my Letterboxd!

HackCampus

HackCampus

Work at a startup of your choice and live in London for free—this was an ambitious goal, but Ben Chin and I were frustrated by the lack of startups and tech companies coming to campus while we were in college. We set out to create the internship program of our dreams with Index Ventures.

KCL Tech Society

In college I founded an award-winning student society called KCL Tech, which ran London's first inter-university hackathon and played a major part in connecting the UK tech scene.

History doesn’t repeat itself, but it often rhymes. Join the NFT boom by owning a piece of the Dot Com Boom. Made ironically with Adil Majid.

VC Sticker Pack

VC Sticker Pack

When a few friends of mine started "validating" each other's ideas in an iMessage thread, I wanted to respond with a sticker but it didn't exist. Our joke slowly became a fun weekend project that ended up attracting favorites from the startup and VC community on Twitter. The app was ultimately sold to (acquired by?!) ShrugCap.
