Goose implied with their post that Jax's abstraction was at least in part due to their unwillingness to confront and deal with their transness, and because of this she treated everyone around her terribly. In a world where she's able to accept herself, she wouldn't be an ass.
It's a "For want of a nail" thing.
If it weren't for jax treating people terribly, he would have had support and wouldn't abstract.
If it weren't for his transphobic self hate, he wouldn't have treated people terribly.
If it weren't for the trauma he experienced, he wouldn't have hated at all.
But these dominoes are understandable, not inevitable. At the end of the day, Jax still chose how they reacted and handled this trauma, and nobody is oblidged to suffer trauma to heal yours ya know? Soooo if jax had made some important different choices? Very different ending.

Being trans doesn't change the fact that Jax's behavior drove two of her friends to suicide, and she would have taken Pomni down with her as well.

Literally everything about Jax's story was showing us that some people will never change no matter how much love is shown them. And that these abusive people will pull others down with them. Jax would have taken Pomni with her when she abstracted, had the others not saved Pomni.
But it’s not; it showed us how she almost *did* change. Like, several times. In Ribbit’s room, at Ribbit’s door, with Pomni in the gun game, while repairing the circus, and before abstracting. The whole tragedy of it, why it works so well as a cautionary tale, is because she keeps almost recovering
Hey goose! Quick question. The door locked up in the movie was Pomni’s abstraction door right? If so why was it like that? I saw some people saying that it was because Jax couldn’t bear the thought of her abstracting but I also saw the theory that Pomni wouldn’t be able to face herself abstracting.
The pomni door is the first one. The locked door is to her own room where she comes out as fem. That's why the other jax's said "no girls allowed" then they all screamed at the door to shut up when there is movement after that comment.
So after watching the episode, I definitely feel alot more sympathetic for Jax. Still would throw the rabbit into a woodchipper feet first, maybe after giving them a hug.

because she isn't out yet. As a trans person, I spent a LONG time in denial that I was trans and it wasn't until I made more friends in the LGBTQIA+ community that I got comfortable and felt safe enough to explore that side of myself. We don't see Leeroy come out, we see them starting to feel safe.
I'll admit, I didn't get it on first watch 😭 But it all makes sense now! Happy for her 🫶

Hey Gooseworx, I wanted to ask, why did the Jax in the locked room in episode 9 still have her tail?
I always figured that's since all the other doors, besides the piano break room, were Jax's reaction to the people he cared about abstracting, so THAT room was about Pomni's abstraction.
The idea was so painful that Jax refused to even entertain the thoug, so they tried to erase it from their mind.
The first room was Pomni's abstraction, wasn't it?
I think the first room she went into was Ragatha's, and Jax tried to strangle Pomni when she said she could fix him.
We still haven't found out, about jax's breath holding quirk. I mean what's happening with him, when she holds her breath?
Officially it isn't shown, but I'm half tempted to believe he becomes an erratic light being bc of the way he panicked and lost control of his breathing while Pomni was hugging him
