A Skyrim mod author says Nexus Mods removed their “Marie Rose independent race” mod after classifying it as NSFW despite containing no nudity, and claims staff have not explained the decision beyond the initial moderation notice.
According to the author, the mod had accumulated more than 18,000 downloads before being taken down.
In a post on social media, a Twitter user said the mod contained “zero adult content” and criticized Nexus Mods for its handling of the situation:
A screenshot shared alongside the post shows the mod page displaying the notice “Removed by staff”, while Nexus Mods’ moderation log lists several files associated with the project as having been deleted by a moderator. The screenshot does not include an explanation for why the mod was classified as NSFW beyond the removal itself.
The mod has since been reuploaded to AyakaMods. At the time of writing, Nexus Mods has not publicly commented on the specific removal or responded to the author’s allegations regarding the moderation process, but instances of things like this happening on the site are far from rare.

It’s like a catch-22 when it comes to Nigsus Mods: damned if you do, and damned if you don’t! Your mod gets removed if it has nudity, and your mod gets removed if it DOESN’T. Your mod gets removed anyway no matter what. You can’t win.
