Noon Eastern has come and gone and there has been no reveal today from Barrels of Fun. I'm beginning to doubt my earlier interesting pinball conspiracy theory lol. Well, at least it was fun to speculate about. What we do now know is the reveal schedule for Multimorphic's two new P3 modules next week.
On Monday, July 27th at Noon orders for the two games open and the Launch videos for the games, codenamed "Sodium" and "Fluoride" internally at the company, go live.
On Tuesday, July 28th at Noon (it doesn't specify what timezone...I'm guessing Central because that's Multimorphic's zone) we will receive gameplay video for the first of the two games, "Fluoride."
On Wednesday, July 29th at Noon we will get gameplay video for the game internally called "Sodium."
Interestingly, after not really using distributors for many years, Multimorphic has been making a big push to expand its distributor network lately. I've seen announcements for no less than four new Muntimorphic distros over the past couple of weeks.
Multimorphic has also made a number of personnel announcements lately. They stated that artist Brad Albright, who did the great art for the company's Portal module, doing artwork for both Project Fluorine and Project Sodium. Also, Josh Kugler, the former American pinball employee and software lead on Multimorphic's Princess Bride module is back, serving as software development lead and co-creative director on the Project Fluorine. Ian Harrower, who worked on P3's Portal and several downloadable P3 games, is on software development for Project Sodium. Glenn Waechter joined Multimorphic as sound designer. And Wesley Johnson joined the company as a rules designer.
Next up, we have pinball ducks. What does that mean? lol Barrels of Fun announced that a pinball rubber duck is being sent to members of its Barrels Reserve club.
As a Jeep Wrangler driver, I will proudly display mine on my truck's dashboard when it arrives. More custom-made ducks for the company's pinball themes, Labyrinth, Dune, and Winchester Mystery House are in the works and will be sent to owners when they are ready.
Kicking off our collectible duck lineup, we're sending each of our Barrels Reserve members our inaugural 2026 Retro Pinball Duck as a thank you for being a club member! Perfect for cruises, your Jeep's dashboard, or on display in your gameroom, each of our custom-designed 4" ducks will be rolling out over time and will be themed around characters from our Barrels of Fun titles. That's right, we've already got custom ducks designed around Labyrinth, Dune, and Winchester Mystery House in the works as we speak!
Each duck will come professionally packaged in custom, themed boxes for display. The 2026 Barrels of Fun Retro Pinball Duck will begin shipping to Barrels Reserve members this Fall.

On to news about Stern Pinball. The company recently rolled out new code for its latest game, Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye - Version 0.88. This new code includes the anticipated "The Movie: The Mode" challenge mode. I assume that this is the mode that contains the iconic song from the movie "The Touch" by Stan Bush.
Stern Pinball has set up Transformers, Pokémon and more of its recent games at this weekend's San Diego Comic-Con. They shared two new videos from the event yesterday. I have included those below along with a local news story in their appearance at the show.
Atari made news this week after the Company signed a 10 picture movie deal with Universal Pictures to make films based on its iconic video game franchises. The first movie in the series is in the works, with production by Entertainment 360’s Guymon Casady, based on a screenplay by Carl Hampe and Matt Reilly.
The ten games that are slated to get film adaptations are:
- Asteroids
- Adventure
- Berzerk (which Atari bought the rights to a year or two ago)
- Breakout
- Centipede
- Crystal Castles
- Millipede
- Missile Command
- Pong
- Yars’ Revenge
In my mind, some of those have the potential to make pretty cool movies, like Asteroids, Adventure, Centipede and Missile Command. I don't know why Centipede and Millipede are both on the list, unless one is going to be a sequel. And I can't imagine what a Pong movie would be. But I definitely think that it's a solid list.
Atari And Universal Sign Movie Deal For 10 Video Game Adaptations, Including Pong, Asteroids And Missile Command
Last but certainly not least, a new episode of the JBS Roundtable starring Cale, Retro Ralph and Jamie aired live on YouTube last night. This may be the single best podcast episode I've ever seen. I made the mistake of starting it last night at around 10 PM and ended up staying up past midnight watching it because I was riveted and couldn't turn it off lol. The show even featured a live call-in by Rob Berk, of Pinball Expo and Past Times Arcade fame, from his bathtub Haha.
As usual, the crew had a ton of pinball rumors for us. The highlights of which include:
- A rumor that Stern Pinball is going to use AI to generate Ozzy Osbourne’s voice for callouts in the upcoming game
- A rumor that the rumored Mountain Dew pinball machine may use the same layout as Bond 60th Anniversary Edition
- and a trailer for a never produced reality series about Stern pinball
