I installed the 1.1.1.1 app 6.7 (1994) on my Pixel 4a.about a week ago. This morning, I noticed that my mail (IMAP) was not synchronizing. I turned WiFi on and off, but that did not help, I opened 1.1.1.1 and got the same error as above. Pausing 1.1.1.1 resolved my mail issue. When I un-paused 1.1.1.1, it connected connected fine.
Based on the timestamps on the mail that appeared after I toggled 1.1.1.1, it seems to have been stuck since last night. Neither my router nor my ISP requires signin. The 1.1.1.1 app (same version) running on my Tab S2 for the last two weeks did not show any issues.
If it happens again, I will collect additional information.

I have had several instances where I lost Internet access and found that 1.1.1.1 WARP was stuck in "Waiting - Your network wants you to sign in. I have reported the issue twice (tickets 144941, 151039) and provided additional documentation when it occurred again this morning. Again, cycling WiFi did nothing but pausing/unpausing 1.1.1.1 WARP resolved the issue.
It is not clear what the trigger might be. The DNS log suggests the last successful look up was at 10:40 EDT, around the time I left the house and switched from WiFi to LTE+. Cell strength in my area tends to be weak - I did not check it while I was out. I successfully connected to WiFi when I returned around 11:12 EDT.
Is anyone else seeing this issue? The only other post I can find is Android 10 app results in failure with message "Your Network wants you to sign-in" - #6 by bobreid which indicates the problem was resolved October/2019.
