A TimelineWP (時間軸, Jikan-jiku?, alt. "Temporal Axis") is a World Line that has diverged following a new Route.[citation needed] As explained by Kinoko Nasu, timelines share a common starting point, however, they eventually diverge into Independent Worlds (独立世界, Dokuritsu Sekai?), each becoming an Individual Story (個別ストーリー, Kobetsu Sutōrī?). Together, all timelines compose the Multiverse.[1]

Timelines are also known as:[Note 1]

  • RouteWP: World (世界(ルート), Sekai(Ruto)?)[2]
  • World Route (世界のルート, Sekai no Ruto?)[3]
  • World LinesWP (世界線, Sekai-sen?)[4]
  • What Ifs (もしも, Moshimo?) or Ifs (イフ, Ifu?)

Characteristics[]

Timelines are generally regarded as Branches (枝, Eda?) in the tree that composes the Multiverse.[6][7] While they all branch off from the same setting, they eventually diverge following different routes. Due to this, each one varies slightly from the next.[1][8][7][9] Worlds with a Fluctuating Future (変動する未来のある世界, Hendō Suru Mirai no Aru Sekai?), in other words, timelines that retain the potential to keep branching off, are called Parallel WorldsWP (並行世界(パラレルワールド), Heikō Sekai(Parareru Wārudo)?).[7] These are the most common type of timelines in TYPE-MOON.

Parallel Worlds are identified as Quantum RealitiesWP (量子世界, Ryōshi Sekai?).[10] This is likely why each Branch in the Multiverse constitutes a World in a Different Phase (異なる位相の世界, Kotonaru Isō no Sekai?).[6] Moreover, each timeline is encapsulated by a metaphysical barrier called the Wall of the World. This barrier is what prevents humans from perceiving or crossing to other timelines.[7]

Beings with high Divinity are able to perceive alternate timelines by tracing their Karma across Parallel Worlds.[11] For example, in the Snowfield Singularity, Francesca Prelati, a remnant of the goddess Ate, used the residual divinity inside Lesser Grail to compile information from different worlds.[6] Similarly, Hippolyta reveals that she has memories from different Holy Grail Wars taking place in the same land, claiming that she has been mixed with different "World Lines."[12] She is certain to have met Richard I in the past, albeit she doesn't remember whether it was in another timeline or a Different Branching World (異なる枝葉の世界, Kotonaru Edaha no Sekai?). She believes that if her divinity were a bit stronger, she probably would have been able to keep clear memories of that Different Phase (異なる位相, Kotonaru Isō?).[13] Similarly, Gilgamesh notes that his omniscient eyes can see through a future from a Different Phase. However, in Fate/strange Fake, when he tried to see himself on a different phase, the Black Mud clouded his vision, preventing from determining the outcome of the Fourth Holy Grail War.[14]

After capturing the Zugzwang, Jack the Ripper revealed that sensed that he had already killed them several times in the past. He speculated that those might be memories from a World on a Different Phase or a sort of fluctuation in the world.[15]

The ratio for timelines that die and those that get to live is about 8:2. [16]

Outside the Temporal Axis[]

Outside the Temporal Axis (時間軸の外, Jikan-jiku no Soto?)[17]

CHALDEAS[]

Main article: CHALDEAS

According to Olga Marie Animusphere, CHALDEAS exists in a Different Phase from their own, which is why human perception and knowledge cannot read its fine details. However, they are able to measure and interpret the lights on its surface using the Observation Lens SHEBA. Throughout the run of Fate/Grand Order, Its state was set to one hundred years into the future.[18]

During the first arc of Fate/Grand Order, Chaldea's base survived the Human Order Incineration thanks to CHALDEAS' magnetic fieldWP shielding them from Goetia's flames.[19] Since the rest of the World was destroyed, Chaldea was left issolated from the temporal axis.[19][20] Romani Archaman describes it as the base holdding its ground in history right on the brink of collapse, making it akin to a colony floating in outer space.[19] Due to this, it became a base no one could find. Even Goetia, whose Clairvoyant Eyes can see all possible futures, had trouble perceiving Chaldea.[20]

Higher Dimensions[]

Main article: Dimension

Heroic Spirits are Souls recorded in the Throne of Heroes, a system akin to a library in a Higher Dimension.[21][22] Due to this, the Throne exists above the concept of time, meaning it doesn't have a past or future. This is why it is possible to summon a hero from the distant future into the past, even before they were born.[22]

According to Zhuge Liang, Divine Spirits are higher dimensional lifeforms.[23] As such, the Time Axis is practically irrelevant for gods in Amaterasu's level.[24][25] Similarly, Xuanzang Sanzang claims that the Buddha exist beyond space and time. As such, they can send messengers from the future to the past.[26]

Singularities[]

Main article: Singularities

A Singularity is a unique timeline that is disconnected to the history that takes place before or after,[18][27] making it an anomaly that only exists in an specific era and location.[28] They are worlds that have completely derailed from the Proper Temporal Axis (正常な時間軸, Seijōna Jikan-jiku?), and if left unchecked, they would inevitably warp and ruin the surrounding history.[28] Due to this, while Singularities are severed from Human History, they remain as stains that will eventually contaminate it.[18][29]

Singularities are extremely limited domain-like bubbles that just happen to float up to the surface within a timeline. Once the anomaly that caused the singularity is revolved, it will vanish.[30] Thanks to the Restorative Force of Time (時間の復元力, Jikan no Fukugen-ryoku?),[18] what happens inside a Singularity will have no impact on the proper timeline, no matter how much effort someone puts into it.[18][30] Even if they were to save someone there, that salvation would be limited to the singularity only. In the original timeline, the dead remain dead, and the past tragedies remain set in stone as such.[30]

In Fate/Accel Zero Order, Zhuge Liang instructs Chaldea to avoid revealing information about the future to the inhabitants of that temporal axis. Otherwise, the ripples caused by the change of history would grow too great, perhaps even activating the Counter Force. Their very intervention caused the future to change and lose its certainty.[31]

The Temple of Time is a place Outside the Temporal Axis.[17] However, it was never specified whether it was due to the Temple being a SIngularity or being located inside Imaginary Number Space.[citation needed]

Parallel World Travel[]

Parallel World Travel can cause minor fluctuations in a timeline, but the Human Order Foundations are immutable once established.[32]

World of Fate/stay night
Feature in:
Parent Branch: World of Fate

Type:
Compiled Event
Parallel World
Generally portrayed as the main canon timeline in the World of Fate.[citation needed] According to Kinoko Nasu, Lord El-Melloi II Case Files takes place in the same world as stay night, although it has a greater focus on magecraft and a different "atmospheric density" due to the influence of the author, Makoto Sanda.[49] Fate:
It follows Artoria Pendragon as the main heroine.
Unlimited Blade Works:
It follows Rin Tohsaka as the main heroine.
Heaven's Feel:
It follows Sakura Matou as the main heroine.
Fate/hollow ataraxia:
A story set 8 months after Fate/stay night. It doesn't follow any of the original three routes, but rather, combines elements from all of them.[50][51]
The Adventures of Lord El-Melloi II:
A sequel to Case Files. Kinoko Nasu and Makoto Sanda devised it as an "independent Route" that doesn't follow any of the three original ones.[52] For example, Shirou Emiya has followed Rin Tohsaka to London, as in the Unlimited Blade Works route, but Rin claims they are not dating, as in the Fate route. It is set after Kara no Kyoukai but a few years before Kara no Kyoukai: Future Gospel.[53]
World of Fate/Grand Order Parent Branch: Fate/stay night

Type: Lostbelt
Fate/Grand Order is Lostbelt Zero, a Lostbelt that diverged from a Singularity set in 2004.[citation needed] Due to this, it is a different World Line/Parallel World than the "Case Files",[4][54] hence why Olga Marie Animusphere never became the director of Chaldea.[4] Fate/Grand Order Arcade: Presumably

Type:
Compiled Event
Parallel World
A future possibility, called by Caubac Alcatraz a pseudepigraphonWP (or perhaps the opposite)[61] that is somehow completely different despite having the same terms and reaching the same conclusion as Fate/stay night.[49] From the period where Gilgamesh met Enkidu in ancient Uruk, as their relationship and the end they came to as a subtly different process,[49] through the end of the Fifth Fuyuki Holy Grail War, various incidents follow a different process, but arrive at roughly the same outcome as the main history of stay night[49][62] (among others, there are some differences around Heracles and parts of the Hundred Years' War,[63] and Helen of Troy was the wife of Agamemnon[64]). The formation of the World Line of strange Fake is the accumulation of those incidents.[62] This world is derived from the timeline of Fate/school life, with strange Fake being closely linked with its history (though it will not go into detail on its version of the Fifth Holy Grail War).[9][60] Despite nominally being a Fate world, it has many elements of a Tsukihime world. The Wall of the World (世界の壁, Sekai no Kabe?), also known as the Wall Separating Worlds (世界隔の壁, Sekai Yoki no Kabe?):

  • Wall of Parallel Worlds (並行世界の壁, Heikō Sekai no Kabe?)[42]: The barrier that prevents humans from perceiving or crossing to other timelines.[7]
  • Storm Wall: During the events of the Russian Lostbelt, Novum Chaldea referred to its Storm Wall as a Wall of the World numerous times.[81][82] The Storm Wall surrounds the Russian Lostbelt, like a Wall of the World. All kinds of electromagnetic wavesWP are blocked by that aurora, and making a physical breakthrough would be utterly impossible. Based on its scale, Da Vinci speculates that its energy must be on the level of a nuclear bombWP, making it impossible for any human vehicle, even the Shadow Border, to break through it.[81]

Development[]

Fate/stay night was originally imagined to be set in the same world as Tsukihime before it was decided to split them.[83]

Congratulations on the victory Jing (Hisui)!

Even I, who only watched from the reset to the final game, was glued to my monitor, almost unable to breathe from excitement.
Masoma (Vlov), the other finalist was also suuuper-duuuper skilled and strong. Nobody watching could predict who was gonna win in this close battle.
I give my unrestrained applause to this display of gaming mastery, player skill and human ingenuity!

And just as I sit here thinking that hopefully this’ll happen again next year…
You know there’s also the domestic MBTL Official Tournament happening this year? Said the smirking viewer-only participant.

       ◆

Apologies, but I might as well supplement some stuff to the last blog I put up.
I wrote that there are flags for Ciel, etc, in the Melty column, but…
This is not to mean that they’re just involved with another,
But rather means that they’re (generally) in the state of they were in Tsukihime from Day 3 onward.

Arc Route’s done-and-dusted, but through the mysterious power of Melty, these dreamlike days of ordinary life (shenanigans) continue. However, through some mistake, a new incident commences.

Some with Ciel, some with Akiha
    /some with an alchemist
I think you can expect to team up with these two and fight some new boss, in all likelihood.

Supposing that perhaps sometime in the future there’ll be a scene in Melty where Shiki, Arcueid, Akiha, Ciel are all gathered at the Tohno mansion, then it’ll probably be as tense as on the 7th Day of the actual Tsukihime.
As said by a cat watching from the windows outside: “Is this hell?”

       ◆

In MBTL’s story mode each character has their own personal story, but these aren’t all happening in the same continuity.
Rather, they were all built under the premise of occurring in continuities independent from one another.
For example, even though Arcueid and Ciel’s stories start out pretty much in the same situation, their final conclusion differs depending on which of them was that continuity’s main character.
You know, the whole multiverse thing.

In addition, about who’s the character of boss rush mode:
Boss rush mode 1 is a continuity where Miyako is the main character, while boss rush mode 2 is a continuity where Noel is the main character.

That’s all for my supplementary information.
The update which launches in August and comes with updated animations for story mode makes everything really pleasing to the eye, so I hope you’ll take this opportunity to play the game.

  2. [v] Fate/EXTELLA material - Encyclopedia: Quantum Timelock [Concept][T]

    Spiritron Record Anchoring Belt[1].
It refers to the timing at which the average value of events is fixed at regular intervals.
Our universe allows for countless possibilities, giving rise to many parallel worlds and histories with different developments.
However, if this were allowed to continue without limit, the universe's lifespan would run out. So, at set intervals, exceptional worlds (routes) that deviate from "the strongest, most stable route" are pruned away, preventing the wasteful consumption of energy.
The Moon Cell has concluded that it is this "pruning" and this "Record Belt" that stabilize our otherwise unstable perceived universe across present, past, and future.
The easiest way to picture this: imagine time as a great tree that would branch out infinitely if left alone. This is the act of pruning away the unneeded branches, so that only the "trunk" always remains.
History that has become part of the "Anchoring Belt" becomes immovable, unaffected by interference from past or future — so events within the Anchoring Belt never change, no matter what.
Suppose someone travels to a point in time before the "Anchoring Belt" and tries to alter history — the moment they reach that Anchoring Belt, history is forcibly restored.
In a universe with a Spiritron Record Anchoring Belt, a "result" once registered in the Anchoring Belt never changes. The only thing a time traveler can alter is the "process" leading to it.
For example, suppose the "result" that "Britain" perished became fixed.
Even if a time traveler succeeded in the process of "making Britain prosper, ending the war, and making everyone happy," the moment history enters the Anchoring Belt, the result becomes: "However, Britain still perished."
The lives of one person, two people, perhaps a handful, might be saved.
But the great swell that is human history can never be changed.
This is the Spiritron Record Anchoring Belt — called the "Human Order Foundation" in the world of magecraft.
Conversely, if this Spiritron Record Anchoring Belt could be destroyed through some great feat, it would become possible to deny human history at its very root — but even by that method, the most that could be denied is "the human history that comes after the destroyed Anchoring Belt."
Only those who lived through that era can determine the next Spiritron Record Anchoring Belt to come. Intervention from the past or future cannot touch it.
In this work, Archimedes' goal was to create the result "the Moon Cell has been destroyed" before the next Spiritron Record Anchoring Belt arrived, so that the base world would start from that premise.
This is normally an outcome that could not occur — but to bring it about, Archimedes repeated Shifts.
From Archimedes' subjective standpoint, if he could bring the Moon Cell to a complete stop before the next Anchoring Belt took hold, it would be his victory.
However, although there were several results in which Archimedes was victorious, he was never able to reach the route where the Moon Cell came to a complete stop.
While this was happening, the protagonist proved the route of "the world that is average, and holds the greatest potential for future expansion" ahead of Archimedes, and the Spiritron Record Anchoring Belt was decided.
    Archimedes' plan came to nothing.
Incidentally, at the start of EXTELLA's main story, the moment "the protagonist entered the Giant's Stone Chamber together with Archimedes and was split" is Anchoring Belt A.
The True Nero Route ending becomes Anchoring Belt B.
So, within the time between these two points, no matter what Archimedes did, the "result" had already been decided.

[1]In the book, the term is printed as 霊子記録固定帯, however in-game (both Extella and FGO) 量子記録固定帯 is used.

    [v] Fate/EXTELLA material - Encyclopedia: Parallel Movement [Concept] [T]

    Parallel Movement [Concept]
Sliding. The ability to look at or move between spiritron worlds. Archimedes, being the system administrator of SE.RA.PH, can navigate these Quantum Realities with precision.
In short, it is the power to travel between parallel worlds.
Ordinarily, looking into another world is the most one could manage with this ability. To send one’s consciousness there, let alone one’s “physical” presence, would be impossible, even in SE.RA.PH.
The most one could theoretically do is send a record, and even then, the Cyber Frame would not be able to withstand moving against the flow of time or the walls that separate each world, and it would be disintegrated.
The only reason why Archimedes and Corroded Elizabeth are able to move between worlds unharmed is because they have been corrupted by the Umbral Star. The Umbral Star’s spiritron cells, which run through their bodies, strengthen their very existence.
During the incidents of EXTELLA, the Moon Cell recorded the existence of Archimedes and Corroded Elizabeth, stifling their ability to slide between worlds in the future.
For Archimedes, the best opportunity to further his agenda was during the time period before he is discovered to be a vassal of the Umbral Star. His plan, of course, ended in failure.
By the way, if Archimedes or Corroded Elizabeth had slid to another world, the “self” that was already in the target world would be ejected to a similar world, and then combined with their existence in that world. (How complicated…)
If there was no world similar enough to meet that criteria, they would be assimilated into the strongest “self” currently in existence.

Golden Fur, White Face. The nine-tailed divine spirit we get a glimpse of in Casko's third SG. Deification of the sun. Amaterasu gone delinquent.
When Casko goes to nine-tails mode this is what she will......not be.
All this is is the distantly ancient but still existing original source of Casko.
When you're a divine spirit of this class, the time axis has almost no bearing on you.
Normally someone entering the mausoleum would be burnt to a cinder, but our Xavier, meeting our expectations like always, not only is not incinerated, but demonstrates his usual reckless bravery (stupid menu choices).
She would have been in a naked nine-tails spin on the naked apron, but the ethical barrier couldn't be breached so we made sure she wore formalwear.
Oh and if a person who doesn't dream go in, all he'll see in the mausoleum is a huge sun.

    Golden White Face [Circumstances]
    Konjiki Hakumen.
This is the nine-tailed divine spirit form of Cas-ko. In this form she is a pseudo-god that is a deification of the sun. You get a peek of her like this in her 3rd Secret Garden. The apathetic Sun Goddess [Amaterasu Oomikami].
When Cas-ko goes into nine-tails mode this is what she will……not be. This form is Cas-ko’s origin, and is now just something that’s been part of her since long ago and continues to be a part of her. When she becomes this high level of a divine spirit, the time axis is no longer a limiting factor to her.
Normally someone entering the mausoleum would be burnt to a crisp, but as expected of our Zabio/Zabiko [nicknames for the male/female protagonist] he or she flaunts their recklessness in the face of danger (stupid menu choices), and somehow pull through.
Originally we wanted to feature her without clothing (in her lovely nine-tailed divine spirit form wearing only an apron [naked-apron]), however, unable to break through the ethical wall that is our consciences, she appears properly clad in her ceremonial attire.
By the way, when someone who has no dream enters the mausoleum, the only thing that can be seen is a giant sun.

    Tohsaka Nagato
Family head of the Tohsaka during the original planning of the Holy Grail War. He studied under Zelretch as a mage apprentice and dreamt of attaining the Root through the Holy Grail. Also, he was a Christian despite it being banned in the Japan at that time.

Witness, “Wizard Marshall” Kischua Zelretch Schweinorg
One of the only five True Magicians in the world. Zelretch served as the witness during the creation of the Greater Grail. He is an old man with many nicknames. He has been referred to as “Wizard Marshall”, “(Zelretch ) Of the Jewel”, “Kaleidoscope”, “Old Man Time” and many other names. The 5 phenomenon that cannot be achieved through sorcery or science are called “True Magic”, and those individuals who can invoke these are called “True Magicians”. Zelretch once fought the existence known as “Crimson Moon”. Although emerging victorious (draw?), he paid a heavy price. As a result of this engagement, he became severely aged, and his powers diminished. And it was also at that time, he was bitten by the Crimson Moon and turned into a vampire. His name was entered into the list of “The 27 Dead Apostle Ancestors”, which documents powerful vampires.
The Magic which Zelretch wields is something called “The Second Magic”, and through this Magic he can freely stroll through many parallel worlds. He is a complicated and weird guy with a personality that “rages at evil and laughs at good”. He is a powerful existence who is surprisingly meddlesome in worldly affairs, and frequently sparks conflicts. A troublesome figure indeed.
In the Association, becoming “a pupil of Zelretch” is synonymous to being turned into a complete wreck. Tohsaka Nagato is one of the few rare talented ones that returned without a scratch after becoming the pupil of Zelretch.
Not only a True Magician, but also the pinnacle of magi, this is the “Wizard Marshall” Zelretch. His physique is strong and tough. His demeanour can certainly be called “old but not out”.

  35. [v] TYPE-MOON Manuscript - Zelretch Kishur Schweinorg, p.033-035

    Zelretch Kishur Schweinorg

    Overview
The Wizard Marshall. One of the oldest mages, having been active since before the common era.
When the war between Crimson Moon and the Mages Association broke out around 300 AD, the mages were too preoccupied with their own single-player antics to be able to function as an army, so Zelretch took them by the neck and unified them, becoming feared as the Wizard Marshall in the process.
He repelled Crimson Moon, but in the process the #3 of the 27 Dead Apostle Ancestors charged him and sucked his blood, and though he defeated this one too, he was ultimately turned into a Dead Apostle.
Afterward, he was to become mankind’s enemy, unable to oppose Crimson Moon… but he just thought ‘I wasn’t mankind’s ally to begin with—kinda just wanna go retire’, taking the opportunity to disappear from the center stage of magecraft.

After becoming one of the 27 Ancestors, he came to understand Crimson Moon’s views, and began hating him even further.
On the other hand, after comprehending the system behind the 27 Ancestors, he became aware of the other Ancestors’ way of being, and so stopped hating vampires themselves. After all, some of the Ancestors were far more pure in their scholarship compared to the Mages Association’s advocates of pre-established privileges.

    Appearance
From his outward appearance he looks like to be in his 60s. His facial features are Germanic.
He is a stern-looking elder, his gray (originally blond) hair in a dishevelled back sweep, though on account of his youthful expressions, he can also look to be in his fifties.
190 cm tall, well-built, with excellent posture—the very stereotype of an esteemed military-man.
Consult the picture book that came with the Tsukihime anime as a bonus prologue for how his clothes look.

    Personality
    Lawful Good.
    Extroverted, self-assured, proactive.
A thoughtful sage—one who assesses the whole and imagines a bright future. Though he has a scary look that makes others distance themselves from him, he is a man of social justice and has good and honest morals.
However, though he has them, that doesn’t mean he applies them to himself, and is rather a man of freedom who does whatever he likes.
“I’ll force rules upon the Mages Association for the sake of a brighter future, but I never said I’d follow those rules myself” is something he actually follows through with.
He has the same attitude as a grandpa who often laughs as he watches over the life of his mischievous grandchild.
Though he is an observer, he will still butt into arguments (in fact, if someone is about to make a blunder, he will warn them, a smile on his face), and if he realizes things are about to spill over onto him, he will childishly hinder it with full force. That’s the kind of adult he is.
Zelretch generally sees himself as an alumnus who has already graduated from ‘Earth Academy’. Meaning, as long as the academy itself doesn’t go under, he will just warmly watch on from afar at the various problems afflicting it—broad-mindedly thinking something like “I did about the same when I was young”
The highlight of Zelretch’s life was his showdown with Crimson Moon, so everything beyond that he sees as nothing more than ‘the rest of his days’.
Although, that is precisely why he’s very proactive when it comes to assessing the situation surrounding Crimson Moon. One could see it as taking care of the aftermath of his adolescent period. The reason Zelretch headed for the castle of the True Ancestors and blessed the birth of Arcueid was because she was the factor who would take his place in bringing an end to the Crimson Moon problem.

    Manner of Talking
    His first-person pronoun is ‘washi’.
He calls people by their personal name. If he has respect for someone of a more noble personage, he will use their appropriate title of honor—‘princess’, ‘king’ and so forth.
If who he’s talking to is someone he personally likes, he may go as far inadvertently calling them “omae-san”.
He does not use ‘~ja’ or ‘‘~jawai’ or such, at the end of his sentences.
He speaks like a dignified elder, but try to keep in mind that his sentences are a bit youthful here and there.
“I intended to remain youthful forever, but it didn’t quite go as I wanted”
The ideal is to avoid long sentences—make him come through with each individual word.

    Abilities
The father of jewel magecraft—to store magical energy in minerals, stabilize them and use it for various applications in life and for supporting civilization.
Even if we assume that the Earth did not fall into the hands of humanity—remaining in the Age of Gods—he might have still piloted rockets using just his jewels.

The Second Magic concerns the attestation and application of parallel worlds.
By making it possible to travel to parallel worlds, he proved that there is still room for the world to develop in different ways.
Thanks to this, the world’s lifespan has been extended. Even if our history fails, and we destroy ourselves, there might still be others of us out there—this concept granted hope to the planet, which had been in the process of losing its dreams.
Zelretch’s method for travelling through parallel words is a simple one—he transfers himself to a jewel in a different temporal axis.
For example: if he wants to transfer from World A to World B, he will gather jewels in World B until they gather up enough to take Zelretch’s shape, and then Zelretch’s soul will transfer over. In an instant, the jewel golem transforms into Zelretch. At that point, the Zelretch in World A will turn back into its original form as a pile of jewels.
As long as minerals and jewels exist there, he can travel into any world he wishes, but as he only has a single soul, he cannot be active in all of them at once.
He originally travelled with just his physical body, but because of various circumstances he eventually settled for this method as it was the easiest.
In addition, as a small amount of time lag occurs when he travels, he is also capable of a tiny bit of time travel as well.
To answer the question of ‘if he doesn’t travel with his physical body, how could he be a Dead Apostle?’—as someone who has inherited the Hemonomic Principle of one of the 27 Ancestors, he has been corrupted on the soul-level, so it's impossible for him not to be.
Vampirification is not the transformation of the body, but of existence. It’s like if the entry in the Akashic Records that read ‘human’ changed class to ‘Dead Apostle’—to become a vampire in one’s very being.

    Career
One of the oldest mages, having been active since B.C. Also one of King Solomon’s pupils.
After Solomon's death, Zelretch witnessed the end of the Age of Gods with his own eyes, and then disappeared from the center stage.
Afterward, when one of his fellow students (Brissan) was starting up the Mages Association, he helped out in laying its foundations.
As a result, the mages who had not perished became involved in the war against Crimson Moon 200 years later. In this battle, Zelretch transformed from human to Dead Apostle.
He has been observing many different parallel words ever since, detachedly spectating the course of their events.

    Standing

    Attitude toward the Mages Association
Due to his promise with Yumina, and the fact that he is old acquaintances with the headmaster, he shows up now and then to act as an advisor for them. He has accepted the weakening of mage ideals as something that happens. However, if some weakling comes before him and starts going off about their own theories he will beat them and their weak character into shape.
When there are issues concerning Magic, he appears before the Association and delivers fair and just judgment.

    Attitude toward the Holy Church
He does not concern himself with them in the slightest.

    Attitude toward the Dead Apostles
He does not interfere with them as long as they do not cause some particularly large-scale mischief.
He has seen through the mechanisms behind the 27 Ancestors, but has deliberately chosen to quietly observe them. He is tea-drinking companions with the three idiots of Agape, Lovematroos and Caubac. Rumors have it that he becomes like a simple grandpa doting on his grandchild when dealing with Agape.

    Attitude toward the True Ancestors
Zelretch is highly regarded among the True Ancestors as he is one of the most prominent mages in the human world.
Zelretch, on account of having been alive since before the common era, is friendly with the elementals known as the True Ancestors, and often provides them with counsel:
“Kishua, hey, listen. You know that ‘Christianity’ thing humans are doing among each other? What’s that? A new type of magecraft system?
“That’s a detailed Manual to Mankind’s Prosperity. It will one day even turn out to be a best-seller. Well, it’s for the best if you don’t know much about it. You’d probably lose your minds.
“I see, if you say so, then it’s probably true. By the way, I’d like to try a bit of that wine they make in Bourgogne. Could you get some?
    Stuff like this.

    Attitude toward Rin
‘Tohsaka’s descendants sure did well! Alright, there aren’t any Magician seats left, but I will hammer some unreasonably difficult magecraft into you! They’re things I’ve worked out but unfortunately never taught anyone!’ So he goes, a bit happily.
Anyone who is a Magician’s pupil is first started off with a living hell where they might accidentally destroy the universe—like with Aoko from Mahoyo. Although Rin never minded it that much, instead simply tilting her head, wondering if maybe she had just had some kind of tremendously hellish thing shown to her, after which she kept puking for a whole month.

    Rayshift [Other]
A movement method that transforms matter into Pseudo-Spiritrons, and transfers it to arbitrary coordinates.
A time leap technique that has been put into practical use with the cooperation of the Atlas Institute.
While claiming to dispatch the Master to different eras through Spiritron transfer, in reality it’s a method to where they are “projected and observed” after having become Spiritron data. Its realization was regarded as dangerous by the Mage’s Association since it can be used like a time machine.
Its completion was criticized as impossible because theories aside, the technology could not catch up, but Marisbury, representing a research facility of the Quantum Mechanics department, invested a huge amount of money and negotiated with the American government, received a supply of materials and engineers, and finally managed to complete it. The experiment is subject to the permission of the United Nations (although mostly to the Mage’s Association). The time of the investigation of Singularity F was also the first use of Rayshift.
A magical accelerator rather than a quantum accelerator was installed around the walls of the outer periphery of Chaldea, and it was supposed to be spun at maximum output to convert 48 Masters into Spiritrons and Rayshift them, but……
(Conversion of one Master with a compact accelerator is also possible)

    The Rayshifting process:

    1. Entrance into the Coffin. Examination and definition of every parameter of the Master candidate.
    2. Creation through magecraft of a “Living but Dead Box”. Placement of the Master’ existence into an “unknown” state.
    3. Beginning of separation into Pseudo-Spiritrons. A supercomputer is fully mobilized to calculate the deviation of history and causality caused by the absence of the Master, their body and fate, and to apply a provisional numerical formula to correct history properly. It consumes a huge amount of electricity and magical power, but that’s covered by the accelerator.
    4. Usage of the data from the human history map CHALDEAS, which are guaranteed up to 100 years ago, and confirmation of the status of the destination of the Rayshift. Beginning of Spiritron projection.
    5. Complete isolation of the Coffin and the outside world once all the Spiritrons of the master have fully been projected in the destination of the Rayshift. The inside of the Coffin will be defined as nothing.
    6. The Master will materialize in the era of the Rayshift. Usually falling from the sky.

    End.

    BB/GO?

Ah, if it's her then our place's Martha-san came back today and easily punished her with a BBB.

    Hello, it's Kinoko.

I was thinking that the number of players completing the CCC event was about to increase. Thanks for your hard work. Today's update will also update the boss's materials so look forward to that too!

Now then. In a certain interview, I said "in some ways this was the reason I started FGO", but it wasn't just for the CCC event.

"The chance to tell the after-story for sub-heroines whose stories had once ended", that is something that can only be done in a medium like FGO.

Just like 'Ryougi Shiki' and this time's guest heroine, the greatest strength of "FGO" is as a festival game where heroine routes that would never have made it into the original story get to be written. (For an example of that, the one who received the greatest boon from this would be Elizabeth. It's... sad for Eli-chan, but there's nothing to do but to wait for a fitting reward because it's the EX main chapter...)

Well then, from here on it's the spoilers/setting notes corner. Those who haven't cleared the event, come back after clearing it.

The nature of Kiara in FGO
Until the age of 14, she had the same nature as in CCC, but things developed differently afterwards. After being cured by a doctor from outside the mountains, she was no longer imprisoned and was able to leave the mountains and have a happy school life.

After that, her saintly nature saved many people, but was attacked by organizations with vested interests who complained "Why are you outdoing us in our field, and for free at that!?", made out to be a villain, lost her place of belonging, and before she knew it, arrived at the oil rig. But she was not concerned with her own persecution or thought it to be misfortune.

If Zepar did not manifest, Kiara would have been able to heal the turbulent hearts of the Seraphix staff.

    Lost Man
As an aside, Lost Man reactivating at the end was not because he was made a fool of by Kiara, but he stood back up because she mocked the people who had ostracized the nameless hero. "If you say that, then I cannot remain silent", something like that.

    Changing fate to never meet~
The CCC incident caused him/her some trouble. So, all of the world forgot that incident, and even if BB remembered forever, she would insist that "we never met", and smother her own dream. All for the sake of protecting that future.

The story before Deep-Sea Cyber-Nirvana began
There were various complications, and I will now explain the story before the event began.

    1. January

Zepar appears in Seraphix and begins to take control of it. Digitization of the material world begins. Seraphix will eventually become a closed-off space. Zepar discovers Kiara, who had come together with the medical team, and chose her as its target for possession, hiding within her. It was to heal its wound from the Time Temple.

    1. February

Days of violence and chaos. The digitization of the oil rig is progressing bit by bit. Kiara has become aware of her spiritual corruption but is yet trying her best as a therapist.

    1. March

Morals within Seraphix have finally collapsed. Zepar reveals its name to Kiara and establishes a relationship of proper co-existence (domination). Zepar finds out about the experiences of the Kiara from the Moon from the records of parallel words. Because it would be extremely effective, it synchronizes them and draws out her abilities.

The incident of the Moon Cell's Kiara was an imaginary numbers phenomenon (lost from the observing universe, but remains like a barely existing old book in the recording universe), so Zepar would not have been able to see it normally, but as its observation target was Kiara, a Beast candidate (Authority of the Beast: resistance to parallel world and time regression attacks, in other words resistance to instant death of fate. To deal with the record being handled as an imaginary numbers phenomenon, even if the Kiara incident is no more, the records of Kiara herself will not disappear), it was possible. Zepar, really had no luck.

The digitization of Seraphix now turns to conversion to SE.RA.PH. Even if Seraphix sinks into the ocean, it can endure thanks to digitization. Time within SE.RA.PH begins to change. Kiara (Zepar) begins to form a cult from the surviving members of the staff.

At the end of a lot of trial and error by Kiara, the observatory was opened. The vice-director fell to fear and self-preservation and was unable to start it up. The last lever was pulled by a man specializing in dirty jobs. (This man was the only one amongst the staff that did not have a physical relationship with Kiara)

The Servant summonings begin. The 100x time dilation begins.

The Holy Grail War begins~ Kiara's predation begins. After this, Zepar loses his freedom.

    1. April

In order to ensure the Holy Grail War goes smoothly, Kiara salvages BB (GO). Melt and Lip are also salvaged successfully to serve as pawns.

As the administrator of SE.RA.PH, BB/GO informs the surviving staff of the current situation. "A fun game is about to begin, if you take advantage of it perhaps you may be able to survive?"

"Ah, but as the information density within SE.RA.PH is several dozen times that of the outside, 100 minutes here is equal to 1 minute on the outside. In other words---" The rescue that will come in May is 50 years in the future, she tells them.

The internal strife that ensued amongst the Seraphix staff that took shelter in the control room was such a sad thing. Beckman (being led around the nose by Kiara), takes control of the group. After that, it's Beckman's Mist Theater. Staff opposing him are chased out to be devoured by the attacking programs, and attacks are ordered on Melt and co. who are looking around SE.RA.PH.

BB/GO, pretending to follow Kiara, is treated as an enemy by Melt and Lip who had been turned into Sentinels. But with her salvaged body, she is unable to oppose Kiara and chooses neutrality for now, working hard to grasp the conditions within SE.RA.PH.

In the end, Melt and co. go against Kiara. As a result, Melt is scheduled for disposal and Lip is put in bindings, her free will sealed.

After countless Holy Grail Wars, Kiara gains the immature form of a Beast. With this she begins the process of creating her "true body". SE.RA.PH itself will be her next body for the sake of transforming into a Beast. SE.RA.PH begins to turn into Kiara. The human that is Sesshouin Kiara is, at this time, an extension that can be discarded at any time. (The one who clung to this extension was Zepar)

The Moon Cell detects the presence of a Beast and becomes aware of the incident. Since it is a Beast incident that originated from the Moon Cell, it dispatches BB as CCC (Special Disposal). Although BB was sent to SE.RA.PH, she is aware that she can no longer do anything personally to Kiara, who has become a megastructure. She sets up an Order to defeat Kiara through the cooperation of the local humans.

BB and BB/GO come into contact. For their respective goals, they swap places. After this, the managing AI of SE.RA.PH is the Moon Cell BB. So that the swap is not found out by Kiara, she behaves completely as "the management AI obedient to Kiara".

Oh, by the way, Zepa whoever disappears around here.

The Holy Grail War keeps going.

    1. May

Kiara has finally become SE.RA.PH, completely. As preparations are complete, it's time to GO! To the Mariana Trench of 2030 AD.

Kiara's greatest mistake, or perhaps oversight. Mdm Trapine (BB's secret helper) reaches the communications room alone, and sends out an SOS to Chaldea even while being decomposed into data. Out of respect for the strength of humanity that Mdm Trapine demonstrated in her last moments, BB buries her with care. BB swears that this incident will be dealt with as an imaginary numbers phenomenon and all of the staff saved, as if "nothing had happened". But not Zepar and Kiara.

Kiara, acknowledging that Chaldea has become aware of the abnormalities in Seraphix, leaves the countermeasures to BB. BB reports to Kiara that she'll bully them , but of course has summoned to SE.RA.PH, Chaldea's Master as her only hope.

Chaldea's Master shifts over to SE.RA.PH but (because of Kiara's suppression) their Servants are scattered all over SE.RA.PH and defeated. Finding themselves alone at the entrance to SE.RA.PH, the Master escapes the maddened Servants and makes their way to the church somehow. There, they meet Meltlilith, who had been scheduled for disposal and was about to stop functioning from lack of magical energy.

The two, contract. Because she had been reset, Meltlilith was very obedient & Level 1.

Their battle begins. To describe how desperate it was, from Melt's point of view it was like "Challenging the entire Kamen Rider Corps as a Shocker battle grunt (alone)", that level of an impossible game. It was tough, it was scary. But they did their best. Even so, for her, the entire incident is all shining so brightly.

Various things happened and time has run out. SE.RA.PH pierces through the trench. Right now even though they have saved Passionlip, they could not remove the bindings. The three reach the observatory and are destroyed by Kiara. Melt makes a desperate, one-time flight with Lip's assistance.

    1. 30 minutes, before the main story starts

With a crash of falling lightning, Melt arrives at SE.RA.PH, two hours before in real time. She contacts BB who had detected the anomaly and shares her own memories, discussing a secret plan for battle. The "Don't let Kiara know, and kill Kiara at the end" plan begins.

BB begins to create the Slots and KP. From Kiara's perspective, they seem to be for the purpose of "bullying Chaldea". Melt hurries to the church and meets the Melt scheduled for disposal --- a lonely farewell.

    Chaldea's Master shifts to SE.RA.PH.

BB, hearing from Melt that Kiara would scatter the Servants, forcefully picks and sends along (secretly) three Servants affiliated with Chaldea. In order to keep Kiara from becoming alert to BB's cooperation, the Servants are fed with mistaken information that "we were the ones that came along with Master".

And so, the Emperor, Miko and Red Jacket that were sent flying were captured by Kiara's hand... not really, actually they were retrieved by BB/GO, who heard of it from BB. (It's complicated!)

...and that is how the story went.

    BB/GO?

     BB、BB/GOと接触。

Interviewer: So really, “hollow” is the after story for which ending?
Takeuchi: It will feel like it encompasses the endings of all of the routes, but not being any of them.
Nasu: We mentioned it a little bit earlier, but “hollow” is set in Fuyuki city half a year after Fate/stay night. But despite that, the story’s starting from a situation where everyone, + some extra people and minus a certain character, is present and nobody thinks that’s unusual. While Shirou, the protagonist thinks this is weird, he can’t figure out what exactly is unusual. He’s in that kind of unstable situation, but he’s genuinely enjoying the “festivities” feeling that it’s great how everyone’s around.
And the story is going to progress like that, but slowly, they’re going to be getting involved in the reason why they’re in that strange situation, that is, the main story. A keen person might realize, “hey, this takes place after that route”, but we believe it should be left up to the user’s imagination.

Interview: So, should it be best to think that Fate/hollow ataraxia isn’t a continuation of the Fate, Unlimited Blade Works, and Heavens Feel arcs of the last game?
Takeuchi: Yes. It’s not really what happens after each route, but more of a “counter” to “Fate/stay night” itself…..is what feels more comfortable right now, I think. While there is a setting about this happening after this route, personally, I don’t think it’s that important. Basically, I think the player should interpret it however he wants.
Nasu: I personally wrote “Reunion”, the introductory portion of Fate/hollow ataraxia with the intention of it being the ending of a certain route in Fate/stay night and the ending of “hollow ataraxia”.

    Thirteen Strictures [Other]
Aware of the strictures placed upon the holy sword, thinking “such a form is beautiful,” the holy spear accepted those same limits. Just as the holy sword, it carries within it the prayers of thirteen knights.
Furthermore, in the illustration of the Thirteen Strictures included in the Rail Zeppelin case, the image of Bedivere included his prosthetic arm. This arm was created for him by a blacksmith he knew, for use when he attended ceremonies. For him, actions taken by the Round Table required the utmost in respect and decorum. Whether the silver arm that appeared in a parallel world was modelled after this one or not, well…

    Subspecies Holy Grail Wars [Others]
The small Holy Grail Wars that have been recklessly happening everywhere since several decades ago in the “Apocrypha” world. Varying from those with only two Servants to wars with five Servants which, though inferior in scale to Fuyuki, are still considerably large conflicts, all kinds of Holy Grails Wars are brightly, happily and violently taken place throughout the world.
This is because, after the Third Holy Grail War, Darnic disseminated information on the structure of the Holy Grail War, which normally should have been concealed at all costs, to other magi in order to forestall them from searching for the Holy Grail that he had stolen.
Even for magi who lament over how the Root is just a distant fairy tale, once they learned that they could take a step… or perhaps even just half a step towards reaching it through this ritual, they ended up desperately creating Holy Grails of their own.
Broadly speaking, out of a hundred Holy Grails made, ninety-five of them get stalled due to setbacks in the midst of constructing them, and out of the remaining finished five Grails, four end up incomplete and explode while prana is poured into them. The last remaining Grail out of them all manages to work properly, but the ritual is degraded in quality and cannot be compared to the one in Fuyuki.
However, with the prana accumulated in the Grail, it still becomes possible to bring about miracles of varying scale. Being summoned by such a shoddy Holy Grail is a real nuisance to the Servants, though. There are many Servants who refuse the summoning or rebel and kill their Masters.
Amongst young magi, something like a “Holy Grail War Walkthrough Wiki” has been secretly created and is used to outwit obstinate old magi by mustering their intelligence… maybe. The early period right after the subspecies Holy Grails began was called the “golden era of Assassins”, where Assassins (Hassan-i-Sabbah) were a great menace (because, on top of their prana consumption being low, killing Masters was far easier than battles between Servants, so it might have seemed like easier work in its own way), but by the middle period, countermeasures against them were naturally taken and the Hassan boom fell into decline. It’s apparently a common sight for Masters who enjoy having their Servants fight each other to easily team up just as Assassin is confirmed to be summoned.
It is quite common in the subspecies Holy Grail Wars for the Servants to be unable to display their full power as much as in Fuyuki depending on the quality of the leylines, and, since the advantages and disadvantages of each Servant also becomes clear according to their level of fame in the land where a war takes place, it often turns into a competition to obtain the catalysts of local Servants.
For instance, a subspecies Holy Grail War in Greece would create a struggle for a “catalyst of Heracles”, and the magi who managed to get it would win… In other words, the whole thing seems to go full circle and turn into a simple battle of magecraft between magi in the end. As a cute one-time divorcee magus said, “Rather, the whole idea of fighting that macho guy in his homeland is seriously ridiculous in the first place.”
After the use of Heracles was forbidden as a result of that, the next war turned into a competition over the catalyst of Achilles, and so there has never been a proper Holy Grail War held in Greece. There exist terrible tales of Holy Grail Wars like this.

    ■ Fate/EXTRA/EXTELLA Character Outline

※ There's only one route, so Nero takes the role of saving, guiding, and helping Hakuno grow.
Don't forget that this is a boy-meets-girl story.

    • Kishinami Hakuno (Protagonist)

The archetypal protagonist who wakes up in SE.RA.PH to find himself caught up as a participant in the Holy Grail War.
He has memories of life (daily school life), but no other memories.
His abilities are extremely mediocre as a wizard. Fortunately, he has a personality that never gives up, holds no grudges, and always tries to do the right thing. Miraculously, he attains victory. In short, he's someone who can't quit.

     →→
First Spoiler (revealed in the middle and later half of the story)
His identity is the same as that of the NPCs on campus, merely "recreated data from past humans."
(It is less expensive for the Moon Cell to model NPCs after past humans, but the Moon Cell fundamentally cannot understand humans (intelligent life forms))
He gained a self and passed the preliminary round as a human, so he was registered as a Master.

     →→
Second Spoiler (revealed at the end of the story)
The human he was recreated from is in cold sleep on Earth, neither alive nor dead.
This is why the NPC managed to gain an ego and autonomy.
(This has to do with where souls reside in TYPE-MOON, but that isn't explained in this story.)

    • Saber (Nero)

The Servant who was summoned in response to Hakuno's call.
(Summoning details are in Material, under Saber's entry.)
A female knight who acts as she pleases and whole-heartedly glorifies life.
Her speech and attitude are pompous, but at her core, she respects all that is beautiful.
She appears condescending, but actually reacts to most things with a "wow, that's amazing. How impressive! But I won't lose, either!" attitude.

Her physical abilities are below average for a Servant, but her Skill "Imperial Privilege" is powerful. A true genius displays her talents in all areas. Red Saber's strength can be considered her ability to learn anything that is possible through human levels of effort or talent.

Saber is reluctant to reveal her true name.
It is not because she wishes to conceal her identity as the infamous tyrant Nero, but because she is afraid that Hakuno will dislike or be disappointed with her if he knows her name.
During the fifth round, she moves past this hesitation and reveals it herself.

    • Girl Classmate (Female Protagonist)

A girl who occasionally crosses paths with Hakuno, leaving him a casual word of advice.
She's always eating a noodle sandwich.
She wasn't in the PSP version, so the audience would misread her as "a new heroine!?"

     →→
     Spoiler (Round 7)
The same entity as Hakuno. Personnel data: a NPC created by SE.RA.PH, modeled after Kishinami Hakuno. However, she was configured as a female due to overlapping identity.
She gained an ego in connection with the same event for Hakuno, and advanced as a Master.
(※ She didn't gain a soul. Hakuno gained a soul, and the aftermath of this awakened her ego.)
Because her data was modified further after recreation, she quickly becomes aware that she is not a legitimate being.
As a degraded copy, she cannot withstand the installation of an ego (soul), so she is destined to disintegrate.
(※ Even if she wins the seventh round, she will then disappear. Only Archer deduces this.)

    • Archer (Nameless)

The Female Protagonist's Servant. He is a Servant summoned to a Master without a soul, so his summoning circumstances are also irregular.
Half of his body is crumbling and burned.
Knowing the Female Protagonist's situation, he helps her fight to the bitter end.
→ Every time Hakuno is alone and in a pinch, Archer saves him. As for why he does this, if Hakuno dies, so does the female protagonist. Archer is trying to give his Master a conclusion where she doesn't lose until the very end, and accepts her end even though she couldn't survive.
→→ Archer is partially destroyed, so Nero and Tamamo don't recognize him in the world of EXTELLA. Also, the Nameless that appears in EXTELLA comes from a world where the Female Protagonist won.

    • Rin & Rani

Fewer appearances than in the PSP version, but their position is unchanged.

    • Leo

The heir to the Western European Conglomerate. A perfect prince. The strongest foe in the PSP version.
His role is the same in the PSP version, but this time he is defeated in the sixth round.

     →→ Foreshadowing
Out of curiosity, Leo talks to Kishinami Hakuno many times, but several of the conversations are inconsistent.
"Oh, didn't we talk about this before?"
"Yes, I'm interested in you, too."
He says things like that, because he's interacted with the Female Protagonist in the same way.
Leo loses to the Female Protagonist in the sixth round, so this time, he realizes that the Female Protagonist has the potential to defeat him.

    • Saber (Gawain)

Leo's Servant. Unchanged from the PSP version.

    • Julius

Leo's older brother. An assassin who handles the dirty work. On Earth, he doesn't have much time left to live.
He eliminates Leo's enemies without regard for his own survival.
His position is unchanged from the PSP version. He is openly hostile to Hakuno, and is Hakuno's greatest rival.
Julius' special animosity towards Hakuno (and the Female Protagonist) is because Hakuno is the same type of person as Julius.
On a deeply subconscious level, Julius rejects the notion that a normal person, possessing nothing and chosen by nobody, could rise to become Leo's greatest enemy.
It also stems from Julius' irritation that he was unable to do the same.

    • Assassin (Li Shuwen)

Julius' Servant. Position is unchanged from the PSP version.

    • Matou Shinji
    • Rider (Drake)

The opponent in the first round, which has the theme of fighting a friend. Unchanged from the PSP version.

    • Atrum

The opponent in the fourth round. His Servant is Caster (Tamamo no Mae).
A new Master for the EXTRA storyline that was reorganized for EXTELLA. A user of sacrificial magic that kills and creates life.
Acquainted with Leo on Earth. In the world of EXTRA where fossil fuel resources have run dry, he lacks the cockiness and carelessness of his Fate/stay night counterpart. However, his basic personality is the same.
A self-proclaimed feminist, but it's obvious in reality that he views women only as tools.
He speaks respectfully to Caster, but also looks down on her.
After the Moratorium of Round 4, he sends Caster to seduce Hakuno (to gain his sympathy).
"You don't need win the boy over. As long as you can ensnare him, it'll be a windfall for us."
"Me? I have things to do. Dirty jobs are a Servant's duty, right?"
Casko wearily follows his order, replying "By your command."
After dispatching Casko, Atrum accesses a proprietary hidden circuit to Earth to find data on Kishinami Hakuno, but fails to turn up anything. This troubles him.

After Atrum loses to Hakuno in their duel, Atrum uses Caster as a scapegoat to avoid the destruction of his own body, and flees.
After he escapes from the firewall, he is dealt with by Julius or the Moon Cell.

    • Caster (Tamamo no Mae)

    Appears as Atrum's Servant.
From the start, she is aware that she is expendable to Atrum, but she does not resist fulfilling their pact. (Of course, if Atrum were to sever their contract, it would be a different story.)
When she comes to Hakuno on Atrum's orders to seduce him, Hakuno asks,
"...Umm, I don't understand why you're doing this,"
    which confuses her.
Fox: "I suppose, in short, that my Master's naive strategy is to have me drown you in my charms and end you in your sleep. Failing that, sympathy might still move you to carelessness during your final duel..."
Having heard Casko's circumstances and taking issue with them, Hakuno becomes serious.
    Hakuno: "Have a seat, Caster."
    Hakuno kneels across from Caster.
Casko does the same. Hakuno begins to give her a stern lecture out of concern for her well-being.
This is the first event that leads to Caster falling in love.

After their duel, Casko burns away, as Atrum's scapegoat.
The protagonist then uses his Command Spell to try and save her.
Casko is restored, without a scratch. "Ah, I'm finally free!" The way she easily withstands the assault of the firewall is similar to Arcueid's scene.
Afterwards, she cooperates with Hakuno as his (self-declared) true Servant.
Nero: "Damn you -- who let this raccoon- no, this fox into our den!?"
Fox: "That's obvious. As if the curse of a third-rate Master could roast me!"

    • Dan
    • Archer (Robin)

The opponent in the second round, which has the theme of defeating one's senior and mentor in life.
Position is unchanged from the PSP version.

    • Twice Pieceman

The final Master who awaits Hakuno in front of the Moon Cell's core, after the seventh round.
Position is unchanged from the PSP version.
However, to make his appearance less sudden, he would appear frequently throughout the story.
※ He could also interact with the Female Protagonist instead of Hakuno.

    PART II

    Continuing on...

      ◆

    ■ Reorganization
※ This is basically meant to be a shorter version of the plot, so it only contains the essentials. Unfortunately, I have to cut the excess fat.
※ That said, in the end this is a reorganization of the Nero route. There are differences from the Tamamo no Mae and Nameless routes. For example, in the Tamamo route, the event that occurs on the path to the core is completely opposite.

    • Awakening ~ Preliminary Round ~ Servant Summoning

    From the top...
"A girl falls on the water's surface, lying face up. It's the Female Protagonist before she disappears, after losing to Hakuno in the sixth round."
This scene would be interesting to include. The audience would be misled to believe she was someone who died in the preliminaries, but the truth would be revealed in after the sixth round.
※ This is just meant to be a surprise scene, without any bearing on the story. It doesn't have to be included.

The protagonist notices the incongruity in school life, escapes from the Inside of the World (the Inside of the Texture), fights a doll, and summons a Servant.
Unchanged from the introduction to the PSP version.

    • Round 1, Beginning

Round 1 begins while the mood is still carefree, while explaining SE.RA.PH., the Moon Cell, the Holy Grail War, and the state of Earth.
The atmosphere of Round 1 is "this is a game," "this is a proxy war," and "this feels like a game."
The opponent in the first round is announced. Hakuno faces Shinji.
→ In the PSP version, the opponent in each round was announced on a bulletin board, but if we have the budget, I'd like to make it more flashy this time.
We could show the audience the tournament brackets and where each character is.
Also, the Masters can casually face off in in the halls, and we can also have Casko smugly appear.

    • Round 1, Conclusion

Events from the competition against Shinji, to the elevator ride, until the final duel.
Demonstrates that this isn't a game, but rather a ruthless battle for survival.
Drake: "Don't you all realize that you were dead as soon as you got here?"
They were all a great herd of fools lured in by the colorful promise that their wishes would be granted.
Of course, some were staking their lives on the competition, but the majority of them had been deceived.
Even Hakuno is troubled. "What reason and wish do I have for fighting in this war for survival?"

      →→ Point
It left a bad taste in his mouth to join this tournament with neither convictions nor goals, and fight his own friend.
It struck him that unmindful murder and innocent fights to the death → Real death.
Shinji: "I thought it just granted wishes! Why do I have to die!?"
Drake: "Look, that's just what it means to live. All people are unaware that they trample on the wishes of others."

    • Round 2

The heartbroken protagonist fights Dan, the old soldier.
The old man who fights with regrets about his life, and the Heroic Spirit Robin who died in regret.

    • Round 3

Round 3 is unchanged from the PSP version.
After Hakuno wins, his next opponents Atrum and Casko appear to put on haughty airs. "You face us next, oh ho ho."

    • Round 4

Atrum is a character related to both Leo and Earth, so he serves the supporting but important role of explaining much of the setting, such as the state of Earth, and how it ended in the 2030s.
Atrum affects goodwill, taking the "you should lose, so that I can live to save the world" approach to sway Hakuno's resolve.
Hakuno, who has no identity, hesitates. However, he overcomes Atrum's intimidation by realizing that although Atrum's words are true, Atrum himself is not. They fight as Masters.
As a result of the duel against Atrum, Casko decides to help Hakuno while avoiding detection by the Moon Cell. She becomes a useful and helpful friend.
Of course, she schemes to defeat Nero and take her place as the main Servant, given an opening.
Nero is aware of this, naturally. Casko and Nero share a friendly, combative relationship.
→Their relationship is changed from "heroines of different worlds" to "heroines in the same world."

    • Round 5

Hakuno fights Julius in the fifth round.
Nero is rendered unable to fight by Assassin's Noble Phantasm.
With Casko's assistance, Hakuno challenges Julius and Assassin on his own.
Thanks to Hakuno's efforts, Nero recovers, and the story proceeds as it does in the latter half ot the PSP version.
After Nero recovers, she tells Hakuno her true name. Her Noble Phantasm is finally unsealed.

    • Missing Chapter

This is when CCC takes place. Casko remembers all of it. Nero only remembers, "Elizabeth is my lifelong rival. But which round did we fight in?"

    • Round 6 ~ early Round 7

Rin and Rani are defeated in round 6, and say their farewells.
Hakuno anticipates a showdown with Leo next... but Leo is reported to have been defeated.

Leo has fallen, but the name of the Master who proceeded to round 7 is hidden by jamming, and the Master is nowhere to be found.
Casko and Saber attempt to investigate, but they are unable to either locate the Master or remove the mosaic obscuring its name.
In a dramatic development, they realize, "what if they aren't hiding? What if their name was always this way to begin with?" They proceed on the assumption that their next opponent is nameless.

They report this irregularity to the priest, but the priest answers, "No. In a sense, your next battle is fair."
Hakuno enters the elevator, not knowing who his next foe will be. No one is next to him.

When he arrives at the arena, it's a wasteland resembling the Grand Canyon.
Hakuno and the Female Protagonist face off, separated by a valley.
The enemy Master was his classmate. "Ah, I knew it," Hakuno says in understanding.
The girl: "Let's begin, Archer. This is my final fight."
Archer appears in response to her order, facing Nero.
The girl dispels the texture concealing her true face.
There she stands, aloof, her hair blowing in the wind.

For a moment, the story switches to the girl's perspective.
It's the story of a girl who suddenly woke up like Hakuno did, and strove to move forward in spite of her lack of self and her impending collapse.
The Female Protagonist's fight against Leo is the same as Round 7 of the PSP version.
→ Even though it was against the Female Protagonist, Leo still lost to "Kishinami Hakuno."

Round 7 concludes. Archer disappears along with the girl.
The Male Protagonist inherits the girl's memories and details of her fight with Leo as his own.

    • End of Moratorium ~ On the way to the core

While traveling the path to the core of the Moon Cell, Hakuno is attacked by a debugging program.
Its target is Casko, not Hakuno. The Moon Cell is enraged that a Servant which should have been defeated is still intact.
→ Hakuno parts ways with Casko. The tone is similar to parting with Casko in the CCC Route of CCC. The debugging is powerful enough to actually erase her in CCC, but the debugging is light in this case, so Casko won't disappear.
Casko schemes to capture the Protagonist's heart and affections by risking her life (which is in no actual danger) in a heart-rending farewell, after sharing a tender scene with him. Nero sees right through it.
    "Come back out here!"
    "I'll beeeeee baaaaaaaack!"
"She'll live," remarks Hakuno, as he dons his sunglasses.
Hakuno and Saber arrive at the Moon Cell's core. There, they face Twice.

    • Moon Cell Core ~ Savior

Hakuno confronts Twice. Twice gives a long speech.
※ The events here are described in the final entry of the Material glossary.

His thoughts breaking down, Hakuno has a showdown with Twice.
T: "No Servant can reach me. After all, heroes are little more than flowers that bloom in each age.
He who saves the world. My answer is he who saves humanity."
    The Servant Savior appears.

The duel against Twice becomes a reflection on human history in the Common Era.
"All this consumption and bloodshed, and this is the conclusion we reach?" laments Twice solemnly.
"So what!?" roar Nero and Hakuno in defiance.
Twice is correct. Humanity is not.
Yet, the final role and responsibility to decide and enforce what is right belongs to the people living in the current era.
It would be even more unacceptable to have it decreed by a ghost from the past.

After Twice is defeated, the ending of the PSP version proceeds to the Saber Route ending of CCC, and the story feels like it connects to EXTELLA.
It leads to a new beginning that collects all of the previous components.
That said, in the end this reorganization is supposed to be vague, in the sense that "this seems to have happened."
For example, the tense but inseparable relationship between Nameless and Cu Chulainn, Gilgamesh and Artoria's connection, and other factors aren't described in EXTRA and CCC. I hope that the audience will accept that these fuzzy connections similar to the ones from Fate/stay night might have existed in the EX world, too.

       ◆

That's one portion of the materials from before we began developing EXTELLA.
It's just background for the story which will never appear as a concrete title, so don't worry about the typos.
I hope you enjoyed reading this, even if it was just my thinking "hmm, this is how we might need to redefine multi-route games that continue as a series."

    ■Fate/EXTRA/EXTELLA

  70. [v] The BAMBOO BROOM DIARY: GUDAGUDA Setting (December 1, 2021)[T]

    2021/12/01: Untitled (Kinoko)
This update marks... the start of... something...!

Hm, is it Christmas? The time for it is right!
Ok, that's enough for a boldfaced lie intro.
The Gudaguda Sakamoto Is In Trouble event concluded.
How many Detective Missions did you complete. 80 here.

Today's update is not a status report, just a think I have to talk about as the lore advisor.
It's a really minor thing, but it matters for balancing with other stories.
I'd appreciate if you don't sweat the details.

Keikenchi already explained about the Gudaguda Series in Koha-Ace, but it's been a long time, so it bears repeating here.
The Gudaguda Series has always be a spin-off to Fate/... Actually, more like a parallel series.
Part of its lore is different from Fate/'s world.
    The biggest differences being about:
The lore and characterization of Nobunaga and adjacent characters (Tenkai included), Himiko, Counter Guardians, Sakamoto Ryouma, and Oryou.
When he consulted me about Oryou's lore and characterization, I worded my permission as:
"That doesn't mesh with Fate/'s worldbuilding, but their relationship is beautiful, so you got my OK. Do your worst!"
So note that even if Oryou was revealed to be you-know-who, the you-know-who is Fate/'s world is a different character.
The ancient Japanese mythology lore in the Gudaguda Series, much like Servant Universe content, is not exactly like how it goes in the main course of Type-Moon fantasy.

    Fate

  77. [v] The BAMBOO BROOM DIARY: Clock Tower 2015 Commentary (August 14, 2015)[T]

August 14, 2015: Official Notice. (Kinoko)
My apologies, please allow me to make a quick official notice.
Regarding the short story "The Clock Tower of 2015" published in the TYPE-MOON Ace FGO Special Issue, there is an error in the content.
The line reading: "The Department of Individual Fundamentals, ruled over by the Barthomeloi family—the very incarnation of elitism—"
...is a mistake on my part. In the Clock Tower, the Department of Individual Fundamentals is actually run by the Solonea family, who belong to the Neutral faction. The Barthomeloi family are the heads of the Department of Lore (Policies). Since this creates a contradiction with the content of The Case Files of Lord El-Melloi II Volume 2, which goes on sale today, I am using the Takehouki Diary to correct the error.

Now, as for "The Clock Tower of 2015"—to tell you the truth now that it's out: look, it was originally a short story meant to casually drop the concept of the Grand Order right before the service started, so that when players actually began FGO, they'd go, "Ah, I get it!" Even Kinoko was utterly shocked that the start of the service ended up being delayed by a whole year.
"The Clock Tower of 2015" is set in a world closer to Tsukihime and Witch on the Holy Night. In that specific world, because a certain individual did ●● in order to protect the modern era, the events of FGO do not occur. Though no one would ever know what he achieved, he protected both the past and the future.

By the way, after clearing the prologue and meticulously clearing out sub-quests, I managed to save up 40 Saint Quartz. When I did a 10-fold summon... heh... heheh... she actually showed up. A certain Artoria-something-san.
    Goodbye, Caesar.
I found myself thinking that it sounds a bit like a book title.

Still, I was thinking that if FGO becomes popular enough to make it to its second year, I'd love for them to implement a system where you can equip Servants onto other Servants. I'd love to see a setup where you use Caesar as a shield, letting his belly boing-bouncily deflect the wingbeats of those piece-of-shit wyverns.
A physical-defense Caesar born in the image of Rome as a mass-driver weapon.
I found myself thinking, Yep, summer is definitely here.

  78. [v] The BAMBOO BROOM DIARY: Melty Blood: Type Lumina DLC Commentary (January 5, 2022)[T]

    [...]

    Alright,
Finally let’s talk about Melty, a.k.a. “Melty Blood: Type Lumina”.

At last, some DLC characters are being added.
In this year’s early second week, on the 13th, Dead Apostle Noel and Aozaki Aoko are being addeddddd!!!

And oh my both of them for free !

I’ll say it again, free DLC! Thank you French Breadddd!!

Dead Apostle Noel’s cute and evil action-style.
    Aozaki Aoko’s usual battle-style.
The fight reaches a further stage!
Melty Lumina’s second act starts here.
And you, wait leisurely until further DLC characters are introduced.

Of course, the single-player story-mode is still a thing.
Lumina’s already existing characters (aside from Warcueid) were positioned as having stories that were prior to Tsukihime R so they couldn’t have any spoilery conversations... however...
The DLC characters have had their stories written with the assumption that you’ve played Tsukihime R.

Think of it as… getting your lacking Tsukihime-nutrient supplements.
Outside of the character stories, I feel like I wrote a lot (accounting for all of it, about enough to just not quite fill one light-novel’s worth) for the extra story.

From here on out we’ve scheduled to keep adding stuff on little by little, so look forward to that as well!

    [v] TYPE-MOON Fes. Official Pamphlet 10th Anniversary Q & A Booklet:

Q: The concept of Tsuki no Sango is the "degenerated what if scenario" of Tsukihime 3000, but is Tsuki no Sango a potential future of Tsukihime universe?

Q: The concept of Tsuki no Sango is the "degenerated what if scenario" of Tsukihime 3000, but is Tsuki no Sango a potential future of Tsukihime universe?

A: Tsuki no Sango is a world where the event of Tsukihime did not occur. Different from EXTRA's "what if" scenario, the one of Tsuki no Sango is "a degenerated world where magecraft yet lingers". Tsuki no Sango has a Land of Steel type of world.

Q:Fate/stay night is a story set in the same world as Kara no Kyoukai and Tsukihime, isn't it? If that's right, then what's the temporal relationship between them?

Q: Fate/stay night is a story set in the same world as Kara no Kyoukai and Tsukihime, isn't it? If that's right, then what's the temporal relationship between them?

A: It's the same world. And I can't give you exact dates, but basically Fate and Tsukihime are set around the same time, while Kara no Kyoukai is a little bit further in the past.
