Where in Ontario is James?
Not looking for an exact location but does anyone have a general idea of where about in Ontario his cabin is? The area looks pretty sweet with the hills, rivers, and lakes.

You're not the only person, but you are correct that theriver system non-geographic clues
Very cool, I've tried to use some terrain location from when he launches his drone but Ontario is huge and that's a lot of searching. I was able to find the Cabin River Outdoors location doing the same thing once someone at least gave the "big" city he was near. It helped to narrow down the search. So hopefully he put's that drone up a bit higher one of these days and I can catch a couple more distinctive shaped lakes to use for my search :)
ive spent hours looking too...lol only because its fun to know the lay of the land. I spent to many hours looking around South Ontario, now with the latest video it appears to be a "days drive" from his parents. tho that is defiantly subjective, imo its farther than i was looking.
James lives a couple minutes up the road from me. I never knew who he was or anything about him or his channel until a neighbour pointed him out. I’m not revealing. We like to be left alone in our little area of paradise. The river in his videos runs right through my property too.
Nothing wrong with that I have located the area and it is for sure a nice place. I wish I was doing what he is doing :) Are you able to help him out with his well at all? Watching him struggle with that for the last month has been painful. Reminds me of when as a kid my parents bought a lot on a lake and we tried the sandpoint well and couldn't get it to go at all....Yet the neighbors all of 200 ft away or so had water for days! With regard to your homesites - No worries from me I will keep it zipped up
The main guy who runs this sub doesn’t want people posting about Jame’s specific location (for obvious reason), but if you really want to find his location it is possible. I agree he is in a very nice area with cool topography, I was near that area where he is camping last year and it was awesome.
Understandable, I have no intention of blasting his location for all to find. Just curious where abouts roughly in Ontario he was hanging out it looks like a cool area.
Proud to say i have been able to find his property. Took about an hour using the information from this thread and comparing many maps together. Using an app for a different sat map i can see his cabin and at least 2 other buildings!
Trade ya for Shawn Trudel's CRO coordinates...I like maps & puzzles..Shawn is so isolated,; few people travel up the unassuming but cruel river. His vids take another meaning when you know where he creates his dream.
I've located CRO and James's spots. I envy them and the places they are...I wish I was able to do what they are doing!
What we do know is that there are giant ridgelines, deep valleys and pure rivers.

Based on the various bits of info he's given, I'd say he's in central Ontario. Possibly just above lake superior.
That would explain the 10+ft of snow he was talking about :)
What river is he on? Or nearest city?
I think in the area north of Sault Ste. Marie
Can someone tell me if I found it? I will delete after getting a response but also not sharing coordinates.
Cabin roofline is facing the wrong direction with relation to the cliff edge he built next to.
Is he near Searchmont area?
In the ballpark of that region
il est évident pour moi qu'il est autour de la ville de huntsville. indices : les outillages qu'il utilise pour créer son étang cestadire la mini pelle jaune et la tronçonneuse à béton sont loués dans des agences qui sont à huntsville et Parry sound. ces agences de location ne sont pas à sault st .marie et searchmont
ça réduirait vraiment le champ de recherche :-) car il est très peu probable de faire livrer des engins de chantier à 4h de route !! c'est presque sur qu'il se trouve soit autour à droite du lac huron
I have also found his exact location based mainly off of non-geographical clues in videos and confirming with satellite view.
I think he is in that region to the east of Lake Superior and north of Lake Huron. Being downwind of Superior would account for the heavy snow amounts. And also, that area is near the northern natural range of Red Oak in Ontario.
Is it even possible to find given cabin is 12by12? I’ve looked everywhere lol
North of Sault Ste Marie..area is called searchmont.
He's definitely near the Sault. I noticed some sausages with a label from the Independent Grocer in the North end of Sault St Marie.
I think he's somewhere up near Wabos.

Can someone just message me the location. I spend hours looking + I live in Europe and don't plan on causing trouble. Just curious about his location. Feel more connected to the man. And just curious what parts of Canada can be this beautifull. Plus I want to add his home town to my weather app to check what weather he is experiencing etc.

After many hours on a few lazy Saturday mornings, I found it!
You can get pretty close by feeding all the available info to an AI, and letting it make some calculations. For example the drive times to big cities, lake-effect snow, visible terrain type in the videos etc. But for the rest, you probably have to do a lot of searching in maps.
my main confusion is the river flow direction, in the videos ive watched, it seems counter to the direction than most rivers in eastern US where they primarily flow east... but maybe ive just been always confused by the sky light conditions.
