How to transfer money from the US to Taiwan?

How do folks move money from their home country to Taiwan? I recently tried to wire money from the US using OFX to FX to TWD but the bank is telling me all TWD wires need a Advice of Inward Remittance or letter of guarantee to move TWD. Is this a country regulation or something? Is it easier to wire USD and then FX and the bank branch in Taiwan to TWD? I see people mention Wise but TWD is not supported. Anyone using stablecoins or crypto?

I've wired directly through my Wells Fargo account a few times, no issue.

Your daily ATM limit is probably about US$1000, perhaps has a $5 fee, and perhaps gives an optimal exchange rate. If you're trying to move anything less than US$8,000, this might be the cheapest and simplest option

I've wired CAD to TWD straight.
But yeah you can use crypto to withdraw to fiat if you have an account here. Binance works if you use your ARC for your KYC. American passports aren't widely accepted for KYC here. Or there a few BTC ATMs here
