Fischfest 2 is a summer-themed Event which lasts from June 20th until September 5th, 2026. The event features a new island which can be accessed through the use of the Magical Conch, several NPCs, and a new 'Sunshells' currency which can be exchanged for limited items.
Prior to the Fischfest 2 update, a gigantic shell was added to Moosewood, displaying a countdown for the upcoming update. A miniature hut and various beach essentials such as beach balls and surfboards were also present nearby the shell.
Alongside the 1.89 update, the gigantic shell became an alternative teleportation method for the Fischfest 2 event location.
Sunshells are a currency exclusive to the Fischfest 2 event. Sunshells can be exchanged at the Sunshell Merchant.
They can be earned through the following means:
Similar to the year prior, Fischfest 2's island has waves that can crash into the shore and bring with it various Items and Fish. Waves spawn every 20-60 seconds per location, which is reduced by 25% during Tropical Sun.
Washed up items despawn after 1 minute, which is increased to 5 minutes for items that have a chance less than or equal to 1%. Washed up fish specifically have a 10% chance to come with Sandy applied. Similar to normal fishing, washed up fish also have a similar chance to be Shiny or Sparkling.
The following lists what can be washed ashore, with their respective chances:
At certain intervals the server will receive a notice displayed at the top of their screen, alerting players to the presence of a King Crabstle; to begin the hunt, a player must walk atop its head.
The King Crabstle will progressively sink below the surface of the water, rapidly emerge, and then begin swimming towards the nearby islet. To catch the crab, players must follow it with a boat, as the King Crabstle does not have collision after it is awakened.
This hunt fish has a special "fling" ability during the reeling minigame: there is an 60% chance per fish movement for the King Crabstle to "fling" the player's fishing bar. This ability also locks the player's input towards the left or right side of the minigame for 1.5 second and reduces the player's progress by 4%. This ability has a cooldown period of 4 seconds after it starts.
If it is not awakened or caught within a certain timeframe, it will despawn, leaving a server notice.
The Tiki Hut is a inner-location of the Fischfest 2 beach. Here, players can interact with the Drink Server NPC to exchange Sunshells for various drinks. The player is able to consume the drinks for various Status Effects that each last for 15 minutes. After purchasing a drink, the Drink Server will go on a 15-minute countdown before allowing the player to purchase more. The player is also able to pay the Drink Server 25 Sunshells for a random drink, which is the only way to receive the Reef Refresher.

Fischfest 2 features a Bonfire system, which needs to be fed a single Driftwood on a daily basis. For every daily contribution, a different reward is granted. The player is not required to feed the fire in a consecutive manner; they may resume their contributions even after skipping one or several days.
The following can be claimed by feeding the fire for enough days and by speaking to Bonfire Blake:
The Fischfest 2 event features a set of minigames which can be played for rewards. Some can be played alone through competing against AI, while some require multiple players to be played.
Beach Volleyball involves two players on either side of a volleyball net. To earn points, they must 'hit' the ball across the net by being inside the landing circle when it reaches their side. The ball gradually becomes faster as the minigame progresses. Each hit counts for one point. Once the minigame ends, each player is given Sunshells equal to the final score.

Sand Castle Building involves building a sand castle under a strict time limit. At the start of a match, players are given 15 seconds to analyze a sand castle. Afterwards, they are given between 60 and 300 seconds depending on the selected difficulty to rebuild it as accurately as possible from memory with a set of parts. The building controls themselves function similarly to Furniture customization.
There are options to play either single-player against an AI, or against other humans. The entry fee is 15 Sunshells for each participant. The reward for winning is 15 Sunshells for each participant, including the winner. Thus, winning one-on-one matches would give 30 Sunshells.
There are options to play 3 different difficulties with different amounts of time to recreate each different one including; Easy (60 seconds), Medium (120 seconds) and, Hard (300 seconds).

The underground of the Great Sand Castle serves as a resting place for the Flameslasher, a fish that serves as a stepping stone for Captain Conch's quests. Upon entering the Heart of the Island, players receive the Separated effect, which disables the use of Companions. To fish inside this sub-location, players must use their Restricted Starshell Rod, which can be obtained after completing Captain Conch's penultimate quest. The Flameslasher has a fixed 3% chance to be reeled in, meaning external Luck bonuses do not aid the player. Furthermore, the player can only catch the Flameslasher once, as it will disappear after successfully catching it for the first time.
