“Love from the bus stop” that captures Fukuoka by bus stop

There is no testing center, but "In front of the testing center" [Kurume City , Fukuoka Prefecture]

At first glance, bus stops and their surroundings may seem like nothing special, but if you change your perspective, they can become Tourism attractions. This project focuses on bus stops in Fukuoka City and introduces them to you. In this 62nd installment of the Serials, we will be introducing the "Shikenjo-mae" bus stop in Kurume City , Fukuoka Prefecture.

This time from Kurume City

Nishitetsu Railway's Testing Station in Kurume City will be renamed "St. Mary's Hospital Station."

Based on this article, this time we will look at the renaming from a bus enthusiast's perspective.

Read the article here >> The name of the Nishitetsu Tenjin-Omuta Line"Shikenjo-mae Station" will change to "Saint Mary Hospital-mae Station" in March 2024! [Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture]

If you go a little east from Shikenjo-mae Station,

There is a bus stop called Test Center Mae, which has the same name as the station.

There are lines connecting JR and Nishitetsu Kurume Station with Hainuzuka and Funagoya in Chikugo City.

The bus stop is very close to the station, and the hospital is visible beyond the elevated station in this photo, so it would be nice to rename the station "St. Mary Hospital Front."

Unfortunately, the St. Mary's Hospital bus stop already exists next to the testing centre and even closer to the hospital.

As a bus enthusiast, I think it would be fun if the bus stop were renamed "St. Maria Hospital Station" and chaos were to occur, such as "After the St. Maria Hospital bus stop comes the St. Maria Hospital Station bus stop," but if that's all funny, customers will get angry ( lol ) .

In fact, depending on how you look at it, the current bus stop could be called "Shikenjo-mae Station" instead of "Shikenjo-mae," but it's called Shikenjo-mae as if they were unaware that the train station is nearby . The buses at Hanabatake, the next station on the Nishitetsu line, also enter the rotary in front of the station, but the bus stop is called "Hanabatake," and there is no claim that it is close to the station. Maybe there is something they can't compromise on.

Prediction for renaming the "Test Center" bus stop

The bus stop in front of the test center has a waiting area for suburban travelers.

Behind the bus stop is a residential nursing home run by Nishitetsu.

Since the name is "Sankarnakarunakurume," would the bus stop also be "Sankarnakarunakurumae-mae" ?

In the first place, the Fukuoka Industrial Testing Center Kurume Branch, which the station was named after, was abolished in 1978 , and for 46 years until 2024 , it was allowed to be called "the testing center does not exist, but it is in front of the testing center," so I think it would be okay to keep the bus stop name. Even if Space World is gone, Space World Station will remain the same.

If by any chance the "St. Mary's Hospital Station" bus stop is adopted, please praise it.
