Most people don't have the time or interest to go browsing 15 different services, register each, risk their bank account info each, and then spend time on each every single time they want a new title. In fact, the distribution of different TV-media to an increasing number of streaming platforms from just Netflix to HBO, Amazon Prime, Disney+, and many others has again increased piracy for the same reason.
Much like hardware, you people forget that the average person isn't anywhere near the top 2%. The average person is either with a job and family, or has parents doing the same. They don't care about 50-60 bucks every few months, and they're too casual to give a fuck about keeping themselves informed about various niche services.
I myself tend to avoid Origin, Ubisoft, Epic and every other service every time I can, because Steam was first and that's where 95% of all my games and 99% of all my friends are at. I also only subscribe to Netflix and Spotify and just pirate everything else, for the exact same reason.
