I'm actually like the art, it gives a nostalgic early 2000s feel which I would guess is what they were going for.

But yeah I really hope they didn't just import ravenwood over and call it a day. It says there will be other events like a school dance, and helping other students so I need to see new areas of Ravenwood we've never been to before. Expand on the dorms, add more npcs to the would to make it feel alive, go all the way and let us go into every building in the commons we've never been able to enter before

It feels like one of those arcs that would be enjoyable in a binge, but reading through it monthly it's a bit of a slog. No hate to the phantomhive servants but there are just so many other characters I'd rather follow like Ciel, Sebastian, Undertaker, the readers, I especially want to see what Agni, Violet, and Lizzie are up to. I didn't care for bard at all, Finny's story is going so slow for me to be invested in it and i'm so disappointed Snake died 😥, Mey-rin and Ran-mao's story was surprisingly fun though, I'll give it that.

I probably could have worded my earlier statement better. What I meant to say was that a lot of authors (I would say the majority even) either have very few female characters in their stories, or write them very poorly. This is partly to do with male authors not knowing how to write women, and female authors not feeling welcome in the space to do it, even if they wanted to. I do agree Tokyo Ghoul's female characters are well written, but again that's another one of the rare exceptions.

What I meant when I said gatekeeping was that for the longest time, IRL men have gatekept creative spaces away from women, which led to 95% of action characters in media being men.(Look at any super hero team in manga and comics and it's always a group of dudes +1 woman, Justice League, Avengers, Akatsuki, Organization xiii, The Espada from bleach ect.)

Have you ever wondered why female mangaka usually hide their names? And why there was such a huge upware when Japan passed a law that required authors to disclose their name and gender? Just to name a few, the creators of FMA, Demon Slayer, Beastars, Even Black Butler. All some of the most popular series out there, written by women under pen names so they don't get harassed solely for being women.

Sure there are some exceptions like as you said, the Alien series but I would still argue that is the minority, and it is still written by a man.

It's only in recent years that woman have the ability to create their own stories with strong female characters but a lot of men don't like the changing of the "status quo" and throw a fit every now and then. I could definitely name a few great female characters in recent hollywood movies but you might call them a mary sue or something just cause they're not personally up to your standard

I strongly disagree, especially if we're talking shonen/dark fantasy manga like Black butler. Strong and well written female characters are rarity in stories like these. Lizzy actually stands out as one of the good ones.

And I disagree about some people being terrible at writing women, in reality it's just that men and male characters have historically gatekeeped and dominated creative spaces like hollywood and certain genres. So those men feel threatened and judge female characters are judged much more harshly than they would, male characters.

Wow, are you me? I came here to say exactly this. This public school is my favorite and Violet is also my favorite Black butler character with only Snake being a close second. I can't wait to see it animated

Yeah, Given is pretty next level when it comes to BL anime. If you're looking for other less-tropey/heavy emotional stuff I would highly recommend Twittering Birds Never Fly(movie), Hybrid Child(only 4 episodes), and No.6(Actually classified as a dystopian anime but the 2 main characters are confirmed to be homosexual and they dance and kiss multiple times)

I would still highly recommend checking out Sekaiichi Hatsukoi(2 seasons + movie) and Junjou Romantica(3 seasons) before the others though since they were arguably what popularized the whole bl genre. Both shows take place in the same universe so there are some crossovers here and there, and each series follows 3 different couples as it goes on. Some of the relationships do start out as shallow but they get really, really good as the series go on.(Without spoiling much, Shinobu and Takatsuki from Junjou Romantica have a very good story about heartbreak, love/loss, and moving on to someone knew, if you're looking for something like the whole Yuki/Mafuyu/Uenoyama thing) I also think Sekaiichi Hatsukoi is even ranked the best bl anime of all time on most sites, for what it's worth.

Now that they trailer is out and we know who everybody is playing I went back to watch this old interview with Charlie barnett, Dafne Keen, and Manny Jacinto, and 5:26 is pretty interesting. Charlie mentions that one time he had trouble performing a scene where he had to do a backflip with a lightsaber, and seems to imply that Manny's character also uses a lightsaber. Dafne talks about how great he is at stunts before both she and Charlie realize they stumbled that they may have spoiled something.

In the same interview Dafne says there is a scene where she breaks 3 lightsabers so there will probably be a duel

It's gotten to the point that the bots can't even write properly anymore and they're starting to spew out unreadable gibberish, and yet somehow there's still people who end up being tricked into believing that any of the hate is genuine.

Yoda is well know for keeping information hidden form the Jedi so he probably kept this information hidden too, which I think aligns with Mace and Yoda's conversation near the end of the Phantom Menace where they are hardly surprised about hearing about the siths return.

Leslye Headland did an interview with Collider and there are some interesting things she said

-Vern is the only character from the High Republic books

-Other High Republic book characters WILL appear in season 2.

No, it was definitely Den of Nerds(and after doing some more research, HeavySpoilers too). On Nov 23rd Heavy Spoilers and Den of Nerds both released videos on the same day that verified each other, and essentially the whole episode sypnosis was leaked. HeavySpoilers revealed Grogu's name and Den of nerds confirmed Ahsoka vs Mando + the order 66 flashback and Ahsoka looking for thrawn.

I remember vividly the day it happened, people on StarWarsLeaks were saying it wasn't true and that he gets everything wrong, and a mod on here deleted the original post because Den of Nerds wasn't considered a credible source. And then it turned out he was right. I really really really dislike the guy too but it's important to acknowledge that once in a blue moon he'll get things right because somewhere he does have a legit source.

Dens of Nerds was the first guy to leak the entire Mando Ahsoka episode, including giving out Grogu's name, and the order 66 in detail, a couple days before it's release. He seems to have a lot of sources but very few are actually accurate, so 90% of the time he is saying BS

As much as I really really really don't like Guren, I think somehow Yu will be the final villain when all is said and don't, and all the other characters stories are dealt with. And Guren will be the hero to save the day. Yu is quite literally the "Seraph of the End", and Kagami has said that Guren is the real protag of Owari no Seraph, we're just seeing this manga through Yu's eyes.

I'm pretty sure they were dating all the way up till Yuki's suicide. A big reason for Yuki and Mafuyu's argument was implied to be about their lack of intimacy at the time, since they started going to different schools, and the times they weren't at school, Yuki was always in Hiiragi's band or working.

I'm hoping Pinocchio and Mulan gets many more cards soon since those series are lacking. Half of the characters from those movies don't have cards, and Lorcana really seems to like splitting franchises in half across sets.

I just finished binging Russian Doll, Also by Leslye Headland, and those episodes were only 25 minutes long and they were amazing. So for the first time ever for a Star Wars show I'm not worried about the shorter runtime going into it. I trust her to keep the momentum going for half an hour, BUT I do with Star Wars would consider doing full series drops going forward.

Weekly drops are good for Mando and Andor but seemingly character driven stories like Acolyte and Skeleton Crew would probably benefit more from dropping the whole series at once.

I unironically laughed when I saw Krul at the end of the chapter just standing in the middle of a city block. Like, why is everybody scattered in the first place? They were all just together 20 chapters ago. Did Kagami just teleport all the characters to random spots around the city without explanation because plot reasons required them to be apart? 😭

This is how I've felt for a long time. I Think a lot of readers are trying to cope out of their love for mikayuu, so much so that they can't see its not going to happen, as much as we'd all like it to. Even the queerbaiting is Pretty much non existent now. They act like brothers, as you said. Nothing more. Which is a very strange way for their characters to get as they were initially designed to be more romeo/juliet. The manga used to be pretty groundbreaking for its setup of a queer story but it's quickly fallen to your typical shonen manga. I only drop in at the beginning of each month to read the new chapters, just cause im too far in and might as well see how Mika's doing.

Spoiling for OP It's definitely true. I agree Mafuyu and Ritsuku do have parts together here and there, but they're not really together. During chapters from chapters 30-40 both take a backseat as main characters, with Mafuyu being alone for a while and dealing with his mental state, while Uenoyama is playing in Hiiragi's band, and coming to terms with the whole thing regarding Yuki. They don't meet back up till chapter 41 where they literally say they haven't been together at all because Uenoyama's been so busy. They do take back the protag roles for chapters 42-50, but still Mafuyu is actively avoiding Uenoyama so they're never together and only finally meet again in the final chapter.

I guess what I meant to say in my original post is if you go in expecting a bunch of nice scenes with the two of them together like in the anime, they don't exist. Instead it's them taking the backseat and figuring out for themselves what it means to be in a relationship now that they're in one.

I would say definitely read it if you interested in learning about the other characters. The later half on the manga focus more on others and much less on Mafuyu/Uenoyama. Some people don't like it, others love the manga more for it, Which is why you're finding conflicting reviews. I personally loved every bit of it but it really depends on what you're looking for.

The one with the slice through it was the logo when it was first revealed but changed to the one with the rings, likely because those rings will play a role in the story in some way

I'd say half of them hate her because she's a threat to mikayuu, the other half hates her for how poorly she's been written recently in the manga.
