It’s not an accident that it’s hard to unsubscribe, call customer support, or avoid unnecessary notifications from large companies It’s not an accident that our phones/lights need replacing so often either. But here we are, swallowing their load again and again

Spammers have a habit of utilising those "unsubscribe" links for nefarious purposes. As a result, I never click on them.

You say that, we have been waiting for a feature that delete over 10k emails at one click

you delete unused emails after 1 year, with google that's not an issue . you will never be able to compete with google in anyway whatsoever

i’ve never found protons to work either tbh, at least people dont respect it if it does actually do anything. it never seems to do anything. would be great if it magically updated a rule to auto spam anything i unsubscribed from.

Maybe they dont want to? Perhaps they've found a way to monetize spammers getting into people's inboxes despite the filters? Knowing Google, they would definitely stoop that low.

The button sends an e-mail asking to Unsubscribe (a List-Unsubscribe command). If it is not honored it's not Google's fault.

At least they have an Subscription list. Manually selecting an email to unsubscribe to someone is not FERDA

I just route the mail back to the companies own inbox when I can't unsubscribe

I suspect, this Unsubscribe links are only to check if the users email working and after that, spamming harder or selling as "working mail address" 😂
