Context: the reason this post was written is because screenshots have been leaked from the Official Homestuck Discord server showing that they are probably responsible for getting the unofficial server taken down, or at least conspired to do so. It is also clear that they have been attempting to mass report this subreddit (and two others) since February in an attempt to get them taken down too. There are a few other things shown in these screenshots which are immediately disturbing. We believe this to be a continuation of a pattern of behavior of legal intimidation and malicious interference towards Homestuck community spaces and members. This document contains those logs, alongside brief descriptions of their content and what they mean.

Brief timeline of other notable events:
Late 2019/early 2020 - Emails concerning the incident where writers for Homestuck^2 baselessly accuse the Homestuck subreddit and Discord of being a “den of child molesters.” Hussie tries to take over the unofficial Homestuck Discord with a peaceful resolution that immediately gets walked back, discussions fall through.
Late 2020 - Gio publishes an article about the mishandling of Hiveswap’s development.
2021 - Youtuber Sarah Z is legally threatened by Andrew Hussie after her coverage of Homestuck, informed by Gio’s reporting, accrues millions of views.
Mid 2025 - Gio publishes an article about the Unofficial Homestuck Collection, including extensive details of legal and personal harassment he’s suffered from official team members.

18th of September 2025

Near the start of the official server's existence, the organizers coordinate to seek out evidence of people they see as opposition, specifically Makin and Gio. They do this with the recognition that their efforts would cause harm to the official server if they’re found out. They also discuss tracking down “Margot Kix,” a fan they mistakenly believed had “dirt” on the unofficial Homestuck Discord.
18th of February 2026
[The HSD server is disabled early in the day for “copyright infringement”.]
The organizers discuss the HSD just having gone down. They immediately consider the option of taking the vanity URL. After moderator Mutie claims to have been responsible, Vibri explicitly says that they "all made reports" (another mod confirms "we've been making reports the entire time") in a systematic effort to get the HSD taken down.
Outside modchat in a public channel, Vibri says that they don’t care about a “dumb vanity link,” and would only grab it temporarily so no troll takes it. They claim to know nothing about the ban, blatantly lying on the public side in order to cover up their involvement.
25th of February 2026

The organizers discuss banning Makin without cause, in direct opposition to their stated policy of not banning people for events outside their server. They openly discuss fabricating reasons for getting rid of him and say it's because he's "just kind of a dick."
The insinuation of Makin planning “actually illegal shit” is based on the following idea discussed in a public channel: a legal loophole would have made it technically possible to file a claim for ownership of Homestuck in court. It was also immediately recognized that such a case would be thrown out of court on principle because it is plainly not actionable. A joke is all that discussion ever was, and insisting that Makin took the possibility seriously is farcical.
Vibri's main concern through all this is the timing of the ban seeming suspicious and making them look responsible.
Earlier, in an unrelated incident, the organizers discuss a fandom member who had a blog called "davekat-sucks," or "dks." Vibri mentions that Andrew Hussie secured a restraining order against this person; she's been tracking their activity and contacting a local police department in order to get the fan served with legal paperwork, including a restraining order. Vibri and others recognize that dks is an immigrant and may be hesitant to answer the door over fears of getting deported by ICE.
26th of February 2026
[At some point during the day, Makin is banned from the Official Discord without warning or explanation. Note our initial announcement mentioned Hussie was probably not involved, this was because Vibri said so publicly and we took her at her word.]
Discussion about Gio: similar to dks, they suggest that a restraining order can be filed against him. One moderator named discordantObserver proceeds to rant about Gio's article on the Unofficial Homestuck Collection. discordantObserver claims that he "sexually harassed a woman" and/or spread her nudes on the Psycholonials Discord server for a period of five years, in reference to a former Homestuck^2 writer. As far as we're aware this is a total lie; Gio has never engaged in any campaign of harassment against the former writer. Further, this user accuses "a whole community" of this behavior, presumably meaning the unofficial Discord, when in fact it was against the rules and moderators removed such offenders.
The mod team decides to use alts and other methods for mass reporting three subreddits related to Hussie, including r/homestuck itself; they explicitly say that they’re doing this in an attempt to remove Makin from any position of influence over the fandom.
27th of February 2026
A continuation of the unrelated discussion of the 25th. Vibri expresses frustration that dks hasn't been served the restraining order yet, and accuses the police she has interacted with of not wanting to do their jobs.

Taken together, the above screenshots tell us that the unofficial Homestuck Discord server going down was likely the result of a highly coordinated, pre-meditated group action. The organizers of the official Homestuck Discord intentionally fished for all possible information that they might find which would give their claims any credibility. They also have no compunctions against affecting other people's lives in a negative fashion, even pursuing legal action, for what are ultimately personal reasons.
From this, we believe it is clear beyond reasonable doubt that the team in charge of the official server operate in a vindictive and spiteful manner, and if they decide that they don't like you, they may try to ruin your life.
To forestall claims that Hussie was not aware of any of this, there are also screenshots where they are directly, explicitly involved:
This info all slots into a larger pattern of behavior where the mod team of the official server, and the people responsible for managing Homestuck as a property, want to exert as much control over the Homestuck fandom space as possible. Makin is presented as “a serious danger” who actively endorsed genuine threats, harassment, and stalking of official members, saying that people engaging in these activities went unpunished.
This is distinctly untrue: the posts in question were not deleted because the unofficial server functioned with a policy against obscuring information as much as possible (messages were deleted if they presented a genuine threat to someone’s safety, e.g. doxxing), but the users in question were in fact banned and in egregious cases reported to Discord Security whenever the mod team was made aware. The mod team itself certainly did not engage in any of this behavior; the video mentioned in the screenshots above is comprised mostly of death threats sent from anonymous users unrelated to the staff of the unofficial Homestuck Discord server and acting in direct opposition to our enforced rules against harassment and brigading, all instantly bannable offenses.
Hussie and their cohorts use this sort of language repeatedly, referencing a “body of evidence” as the justification for getting rid of Makin, claiming to have more such evidence in their possession. The rest of the screenshots show that the official server’s moderators were responsible for getting the server taken down using unscrupulous means. In reality, Hussie sanctioned this aggressive behavior towards Makin because he provided an avenue of discussion which allowed people to dissent against the property’s owner.
Hussie and Vibri, in concert with people such as Miles and the rest of their team, have a distinct interest in monopolizing Homestuck fandom discussion. They appear desperate to have total control over the sphere of information surrounding Homestuck and are not above manipulating other people or fabricating evidence in order to accomplish this. The reason they seem to desire this is so that they can quell any voices not in total support of their handling of Homestuck, of which there are many considering Hussie and the official team’s lengthy history of abusing workers’ rights, personal and legal harassment of members of the fandom they deem a problem, and a severe lack of truthful communication in general; all of these subjects are generally verboten on the Official Homestuck Discord and other spaces they manage.
Andrew Hussie has a history of being litigious and over-controlling, with one example being forbidding art commissions based on Homestuck (which Vibri has since lied about, saying Hussie never wanted this to happen). This has escalated since the end of the comic into seeking total control over the fandom so that their lies about its past will not be challenged. The official team is filled with willful sycophants who think obedience without question is the only way the fandom should be allowed to operate.
As of 2026, they have begun discussing the weaponization of US police reports to silence fans who are not anonymous. If you get anything out of these screenshots, let it be this: sharing your details with the Homestuck leadership for any reason (even signing an otherwise friendly contract) will come back to bite you if you speak out. You should not be supporting these people in any respect, especially financially.
We are informing Reddit’s administrators about this behavior in order to circumvent the official team’s efforts to have r/homestuck and other subreddits taken down. We will continue to provide an independent forum for discussing Homestuck, without Hussie’s involvement, as we have for over 15 years.

Why was the site gone for five days?
Essentially I'm being threatened by Andrew Hussie to "stop hosting his work" over unrelated drama, and took the site down to protect it:

I'm the creator of and have maintained HS.net (and other stuff) over the last decade. Fair use law usually protects archive sites like the Wayback Machine, and 95% of the site is fan-content. The little that isn't (e.g. the lost Paradox Space comics) is not currently for sale anywhere.
But this is Andrew Hussie, a known legal troll who apparently wants to direct all fans to his communities by attacking all others. As documented above, Hussie's team recently took down our old Discord server with mass reports, taking our invite URL. They then starting reporting this subreddit, alongside this message.
I think homestuck.net is just another piece of leverage for him right now. I had to temporarily redirect it to protect it from takedown notices.
Why is it back?
I finally got some free time now that it's the weekend (I have a full-time job unlike the 46 year old millionaire harassing us). I removed everything Hussie could realistically complain about, and finally made a new Discord to replace the old one. We might still get the old one back if Discorp gets back to me, but it's stupid to keep everything in private sites, transparency is good.
We are still in danger, Hussie will send DMCAs without reason (warrant canaries here).
I may restore all content after the site is truly safe again, ideally with a blanket permission for fansites like mine that I can put up on the about page. Archive fansites shouldn't be held hostage.
P.S: If Andrew Hussie acting like this is strange to you, you might have missed when it was done to Sarah Z, to the creators of the Unofficial Collection, to the owners of roleplay websites... too many to list. Even the Scalemate merch design they just announced was taken from someone. Note that discussing any of these events in any detail will get you banned from the communities he wants you to use.

How does an author go from "the franchise belongs to the fandom" and literally baking 'death of the author' into the media itself, to shutting down every 'unofficial' branch of the fandom by whatever means necessary. I don't understand, and I don't think I ever will ;-;

Reading this, I'm losing motivation to keep rereading Homestuck+Epilogues or to read Psycholonials. Not out of spite or revenge or anything like that, it's just a sad thing to engage with - I don't like its future, and on rereading, it turns out that I don't like it as much as I used to on my first read. There are other things in my life which are far better than this.

This definitely does not surprise me. It has been clear to me that over the years Andrew Hussie wants complete control over all Homestuck spaces. The subreddit has been the biggest space that is independently managed, and we can't have that. People here might (justifiably) criticize Homestuck or Hussie! After that failed takeover attempt a while ago, it was only a matter of time before more illicit tactics were used.
I've got some spicier things to say, but perhaps that's best left up to the imagination.

it's honestly surreal that we hit the 10th anniversary of homestuck's ending, and this is the state of things. you'd think this would be a moment for celebration, reflection, preservation, maybe even reconciliation with the community that kept the comic alive for so long. but instead, it's the exact opposite. a highlight of how much we've been fucked over the years
what stands out to me in all of this isn't just the alleged reporting or backchannel coordination, it's the contradiction: there's been a visible push for "goodwill," official spaces, curated engagement, positive brand relations etc., while at the same time there's this pattern of trying to control, suppress, or outright remove independent fan spaces. you can't really build trust with a community while also making it feel unsafe or disposable. those two things fundamentally don't coexist
people aren't just arguing over which blorbo is better in spontaneous monkey discos. these are social spaces that have existed for over a decade. when you see talk about mass reporting, digging for "evidence," or even escalating to legal threats (of getting deported for not liking the current state of the comic?), it creates an environment where people feel like criticism (or, anything short of mindless enjoyment) could backfire seriously
what's frustrating is how much this kind of behaviour actively damages preservation efforts, too. i've been working on a site (Homestuck.fan) aimed at cataloguing history, news, and community developments, and stuff like this has genuinely stalled progress. not because of "drama fatigue" (... though that hasn't helped), but because the homestuckosphere is unstable. sources disappear, communities get deleted, and people become understandably hesitant to speak or document anything. it becomes harder to build an accurate historical record when the present is being fucked in real time
i also want to explicitly commend the r/homestuck mod team, and Gio, here, because the level of documentation and transparency they've provided is genuinely invaluable. regardless of where anyone falls on the situation, taking the time to compile timelines, preserve evidence, and make it accessible to the wider community is the kind of work that keeps things from being quietly skewed or buried. that kind of openness is one of the few things actually reinforcing trust and allowing people to form their own informed conclusions
this goes without saying, but homestuck's legacy was never just the comic. it was the forums, the blogs, the fanworks, fansites, the con meets, the messy, decentralised ecosystem of people talking to each other. trying to consolidate that into tightly controlled "official" channels while undermining everything else only acts to turn natural growth into a sanitised, neatly polished turd

Btw while I respect artist's wishes, this isn't an issue about copyright. Devsisters is another company that tends to be stricter about their ips rep and they aren't going around deleting fan servers, they haven't even banned someone LEAKING their games because they don't discuss that in official servers. HS crew has no excuse, I want to respect them but this behavior if true isn't acceptable.

My theory: hussie is in a shitton of debt for hiveswap and to viz (books not selling well, but he still has a financial obligation) and seems to be under impression the only way he can turn homestuck into the cash cow he thinks he missed out on in the 2009-2016 period is by garnering absolute, utter control over everything. controlling narratives on controversies, controlling workers, controlling fan spaces. he wants the kind of control disney has over their properties because he seems to believe that maybe, maybe with a tv show, maybe with a online store selling fruit boxers, maybe with a video game thats been delayed for the 20th time, and by repivoting all these issues into the lump box of being "harassed" he can somehow get back on his feet.
his poor management has turned homestuck into a massive muck of debt that he cant escape from, and to be frank he's a manchild with no actual management experience, so he thinks the only way he can "win" is by using teenage internet warriors to fight his copyright battles.

They were mentioning this stuff in the HSOD a couple of minutes ago at the time of typing this. I. . . feel disillusioned. I only just recently got into Homestuck over half a year ago, and I was so enamored with its world, its story, its characters, and everything else that it had to offer. I knew that Hussie had done some rather underhanded shit in the past both during and after the webcomic's tenure(massive understatement, I know), but. . . this? This is a new low entirely. It sucks even harder because despite it all, I still love Homestuck, but if these are the guys running the show? I might have to leave.

Wow, what a shitshow. Despite everything, I wanted to think better of the new direction Homestuck as a brand seemed to be moving in, but here it is in black and white. I'm struck by how these people talk to each other--they know what they're doing is in bad faith and that most of the fandom would not find it justifiable; they're worried about leaks (apparently rightly so) and are brainstorming cover stories for their actions. The bit where Vibri mockingly uses the image of an insane conspiracy theorist to discuss her concerns that Makin might conclude that Homestuck Official is behind the Discord being taken down, while knowing that conclusion would be correct, is particularly bleak. Not to even mention acknowledging that she's fully aware of the implications of sending the police after an immigrant in the current American political climate and then joking "dks is dead soon" 20 minutes later.
Worth noting, as someone who has been keeping track, I think this is the first time anyone affiliated with Homestuck has actually made a concrete allegation against Gio beyond "he behaved in a way that made some women in the company uncomfortable", and it's so extreme that it immediately scans as false just by making everything they said about him beforehand look like a comical understatement. They're saying he's been spamming a trans woman's nudes (they say Gio mentioned her in the UHC post, so I'm assuming from context they mean Aysha) to her workplace and various Homestuck-related servers for the past five years. Tellingly, this is vaguely attributed to "a whole community plus a blogger" rather than just Gio specifically. We already saw in Gio's Discord logs in the UHC post that apparently people close to Hussie had Gio confused with someone else, so I wouldn't find it hard to believe that if this is describing real events at all, it's probably ones Gio had nothing to do with.
Anyway, seeing the way these people think, Psycholonials is starting to feel like it was basically autobiographical, only Hussie chose the crown.
