Although they both had to have been well aware that Daigo's seen enough to know this was not Aoki’s true personality, he still spewed nothing but kindness. Daigo is often capable of reading between the lines, to some extent, and picking up on some hidden meaning to Aoki’s words– it’s just a bit harder when the two of them are alone, and it’s annoying that he maintains the front in Daigo’s presence even when there was no apparent reason. Always the pretty words, always acting like he cares, and always pretending he doesn’t notice Daigo peering in beyond the carefully constructed fabrication.

One's an incident and two's a coincidence- but Daigo wasn't too much of a fan of having to coincidentally running into Mine the first time, and he certainly wasn't happy to see him again the second.
What's more, they were seemingly doomed to only ever run into each other on overcrowded subway rides, barely given enough wiggle room to breathe this time. Though perhaps this recent meeting wouldn't go as sourly as they imagined.
