Hello and Good day! First of all, I would like to apologize for my absence. I am still currently on my hiatus and have a very busy schedule for the next couple of months, preventing me from making any new updates, not to mention I have been so tired and have been trying my best to rekindle my love for the yandere genre and making visual novels in general. Not only that, the whole fiasco that has happened for the past couple of weeks set me back multiple steps and irritated more than it should've. For those who are unaware, during around late July, itch and steam has shadowbanned multiple nsfw games not just "The Kid at the Back" but several other yandere indie visual novels. Payment Processors such as Visa and Mastercard prevent people from buying said games and thus are unable to pay devs for their own craft. However, last August 1st, itch made an announcement of reindexing nsfw games back on their website; however, it forced me to remove the nsfw build of the game since it would force the build to be set to free when it's supposed to be behind a paywall.  See official tweet here: https://x.com/TKaTB_VN/status/1951141316202783132   See itch's announcement about reindexing nsfw games: https://itch.io/t/5149036/reindexing-adult-nsfw-content I am still trying to think of a solution, and so far, I could only think of uploading the nsfw build on Patreon as I wait for Itch to send me a reply about my concerns. But Fantasia, you can still set it to donate and bring back the nsfw build in itch, why can't you do that? That's my next problem. Like what itch team has said, this is to prevent my game from being indexed then being removed and being indexed again (quite a hassle for both our ends) and I am not too keen on earning from the nsfw build when I won't get paid by itch (my last payout was three months ago, my payout is still held by itch and I only have PayPal as my means of getting paid, I use that money in helping out chores in the house, donations to charities, paying bills, replacing broken appliances, funding trips and giving my family their needs and necessities.), so money's just going to accumulate and not go anywhere.  However, I do not mind not getting paid for now since I have other ways of earning money, and I also believe that the itch team is still trying to find a solution to get devs paid. So, how about the people who already paid for the NSFW file here on itch? This is just a temporary solution for now, but I'll be slowly sending people who have paid/donated $5 a Google Drive link where I have uploaded the nsfw files (Android, pc, Linux, and Mac) through the emails they used to pay for my game access. PLEASE DO NOTE THIS WILL BE A SLOW PROCESS SINCE THERE ARE 700 PAGES WORTH OF EMAILS I HAVE TO GATHER AND WITH MY BUSY SCHEDULE, IT'S A BIT HARD. AGAIN, THIS IS JUST A TEMPORARY FIX TO THE PROBLEM, NOT A WHOLE SOLUTION. FOR PATREONS: For Patreons, I have uploaded the NSFW build (version 2.3.3) under paywall again. Sadly, your payment in itch is not reflected in patreon since they're both different platforms, meaning you have to buy the NSFW build through patreon (if you want to get your updated games in patreon) for $5. However, just like itch, you do not need to pay an additional $5 once the whole game is released. If you are currently a Soulmate, you do not need to pay $5 since I'll be giving Soulmates free access to the game due to their loyalty to staying here on my Patreon. Hello everyone! This post is just a short update about me, the game's development and along with a few boundaries I'd like to set for Patreon and in general. First of all, I hope everyone enjoyed the little gag game "Rizz the Wolf" especially for Geo simps, but I did not make that for the sake of April Fool's alone, I made that as practice and I've been learning new stuff and polishing my methods in coding. To the people who aren't aware, I am no coding master; I have a college degree in animation and I have no idea what the fuck I am doing. I did not learn how to code via school, I did it all out of pure interest, my love for visual novels/otome games and curiosity (basically I just raw dogged it all). This tiny project was made to let me test out new methods I'd like to implement on my actual game. Basically, it's practice. I never planned on being a game dev nor wanting to publish a game and I definitely did NOT expect for my game to get this popular it's honestly baffling and amazing and terrifying.   But to say I am not thankful is wrong, I AM VERY THANKFUL for this and the attention my game has gotten along with the appreciation and how many people I've inspired because of this game I made out of pure spite and stress due to college. The Kid at the Back's development is still in progress, in fact, I'll be polishing the code starting now with the methods I've learned throughout my research and practice to make it cleaner and less of a mess. I am still adamant of publishing my game as the full thing next update so please, all I ask from you all is patience, I am not sure when exactly I'll be done since writing dialogue itself is a pain (I have 5 more days to go) along with the weight of multiple expectations from so many people takes a toll on my mental health and motivation. So all I am asking is patience. For Patreon, I won't be responding to DMs here since I am not really active in checking DMs here to give everyone the immediate response they deserve. For increasing Soulmates, I apologize but I won't be expanding it any further until I have something to offer since development is kind of slow, I will increase it once the full game is out so again, I'd like to apologize once again who can't be a Soulmate for now (I feel burdened not giving anything when 300+ people are subscribed to me here).
