Building the Future Together

This isA project to create "beyond" of the Expo togetherThat's right.
The creativity and culture born from the Expo do not end with the event itself.
In fact, now that it's over, we can keep the spark alive and pass it on to the future.
We believe that is what truly matters. That is why we must not let this enthusiasm become fleeting, but reconnect it as memories and stories into the future,
A place to continuously take action toward the "future beyond"
I wanted to create something like that. As the first step, we launched this project.
The purpose of this project is
Together with our supporters, we create a "book" that tells stories that cannot be fully captured in official records but are preserved in memory.
We do more than just deliver finished products,
The creativity and culture born from the Expo do not end with the event itself.
I want to share the entire production process with you
。 And beyond that, if we raise more than the target funds, around the first anniversary of the festival's fall We will once again hold an event to share that excitementThey record themselves in the form of books and "reunite" at events as a place. The story begins here.
・Those who had unforgettable and valuable experiences as Expo visitors・Volunteers, creators, and other stakeholders involved in the Expo・Students studying design, architecture, art, and the younger generation・People working in design, architecture, art, etc.・
People who created and enjoyed fan works like 'Komyaku'・For those who want to "experience" that excitement once more
・People who don't want the Expo to end- People who sympathized with the Expo movement .......etc.We want people like that to participate in this project.I am Kota Hikiji, the representative director of a general incorporated association who worked on the Expo's design system, created "Komyaku," and served as the creative director for the venue's soundscape.(1) Delivering not only through books but also through diverse media
──What did you feel that day, at that venue?
The moment I left Yumeshima Station, I was surrounded by a soundscape and felt an excitement that day.
That day, atop the grand roof ring, I was moved by the beautiful sunset as the wind blew.
That day when I laughed with someone in front of the Myakmyoku Monument.
That day, my heart was moved by the 'Komyaku' scattered throughout the venue and the derivative works drawn by strangers.
That day, I couldn't make a reservation for that pavilion and stood there clutching my smartphone. That day, when I looked up at the drone show and dreamed of the future.
Connecting people born through the Expo.
The feelings, creations, and connections born during those 184 days,
If you do nothing, it quietly disappears.
"I want that design to be preserved in a book."

"I want you to keep that soundscape."

"Please hold an exhibition once more."
"Please leave Komyoku in Osaka."
"I want to keep participating in some form from now on."
"I want a place where that connection, that passion, can continue into the future."
Since the Expo closed, we have continued to hear such voices from many people.
How can we respond to those voices?
What should we create? I've been thinking about it for a long time.
And finally, we begin.

This is the first step to starting all activities.
What we want to create is not just a collection of records.
What kind of process unfolded behind the glamorous public stage? What kinds of conflicts and dramas swirled around him?
A book that passes on those stories and knowledge to the next generation, allowing you to weave new narratives from here toward the future
That's right.
To all our supporters,
Depending on the course, you may also participate in the 'editing' itself
。 Together with all of you who are both readers and creators, we will weave together the memories of that time.
They "record" the book itself and "reunite" in that atmosphere. Instead of locking up records,
Together with you, we will create the "continuation" to connect to the next step.
We
I haven't forgotten the promise I made back then.

Starting today, again"The Beginning of a New Future"(1) Delivering not only through books but also through diverse mediaAbout the ProjectThis project is not just about "preserving" the legacy of the Expo.(1) Delivering not only through books but also through diverse media
This is a project where everyone creates the "continuation" of the Expo. The first project led by COMMONs is the creation of a book.It doesn't fit into the official records.
This book collects "Another Story of the Expo" and the "futures" that follow. We will make the production process public,Supporters can participate as "co-creation partners"
Creating shapes is also one of the purposes.
The title of the book is,
『COMMONs』ver.1.0
This project, which is producing the inaugural ver.1.0 issue, is an effort to cultivate the shared land born from the Expo together and nurture it into the future.Looking ahead to expanding into various future projects, we named it "ver.1.0." Usually, magazines are counted by issues like "vol.1." However, this book positions itself not merely as a record but as something that continues to be updated. By overlapping these versions,They record themselves in the form of books and "reunite" at events as a place. The story begins here.
The future itself is gradually being updated.
In other words, this activityAn attempt to update the future, like a 'social OS'

That's right. I put that feeling into this name.Books are not the goal, but rather the 'beginning' of the future story that begins here, serving as the core prototype of the vision we envision。 Starting from this single book, we will continue to create activities for the future beyond the Expo, and sustainably"Ecosystem of Creation"We will build it up.
Of course, for those who want to pick up a book,Partners who nurture the activities and future that lie beyond that together(1) Delivering not only through books but also through diverse media
We would be delighted if you could support this project.Once the production of the book is confirmed, an "event" will be held around autumn to celebrate the publication, but depending on the funds raised, an even larger "" will be held to mark the climax of the project.EventsWe are looking ahead to the "Emperor's Birthday Festival."Not just a publication measure, but a place where creativity and relationships born from the Expo come together and intersect againThat's how we envision it.
Rekindling that passion and connecting it to the futureA place to celebrate a "reboot"#わたしの万博物語And we hope many people who have feelings for the Expo will participate,
"" This is a place where everyone, whether they have supported or not, can participate.Over 184 days from the first anniversary of the Expo's opening to the first anniversary of its closing,Would you like to recall those times and spend those days once again immersing yourself in that excitement?
Share your thoughts and experiences with this hashtag and share your experiences and memories on social media or COMMONs online communities (Discord). It's okay if you are not involved in the Expo. Please share your memories and experiences as a visitor. Each person has their own unique story. Its size or size doesn't matter.
The content disclosed may be treated as content of this book. There are also options. They record themselves in the form of books and "reunite" at events as a place. The story begins here.

Your words may reach someone you haven't seen yet and become a hint for the future.
Next year, you might not remember it anymore.Your words may reach someone you haven't seen yet and become a hint for the future. But now, maybe it's still too late. Why not leave memories before they fade into the world? Those memories and stories will be remembered decades later, when the Expo is held again,It might be a hint for someone.
At that time, it might be our children's generation who are creating the Expo.
To avoid repeating the same tasks. To pass that expertise on to the next generation.
What was so remarkable?
What were the challenges?
What should be done next?
If the records and excitement from that time are conveyed,I'm sure it will create an even more wonderful Expo.
Together,
Let's continue our story into the future. Why do we do it now?
At the Osaka-Kansai Expo, countless creations were born not only as official projects but also as part of citizens' culture.
A shared space created by everyone, for everyone
However, if someone does not protect the common land, it will disappear.
The General Incorporated Association COMMONs inherits the legacy of the Expo,
An open platform aiming for post-Expo social implementation
That's right. Centered around Kota Hikiji, the creative director who worked on the Expo's design system and 'Komyaku,'
With the aim of passing on the culture and creativity born from the Expo as a 'shared space' to the next generation,
It was established in January 2026.

Announcement of the Establishment of COMMONs, a General Incorporated Association for a "Shared Land for a Drawn Future" Creating "Beyond" of the Expo
Please see the ""
Having built a design legacy of citizen participation through "Komyaku" since the Expo period, we are now launching a new project on our first anniversary.
From April 13, one year after the Expo opening, until October 13, when it closes, the 184 days are a period to connect the next story.I decided to get started. They record themselves in the form of books and "reunite" at events as a place. The story begins here.
The excitement of 2025 is not from the past.

From here, it begins once again.Book 'COMMONs' ver.1.0What is it?The book 'COMMONs' ver.1.0 explores themes such as 'creation' and 'culture' that were born out of the Expo,A media project to depict and create the legacy's "aftermath = future" together with participants
In the inaugural issue, ver.1.0,With the theme of 'POST EXPO,' the album will include 25 projects that shaped the Expo, along with '26 stories' that reflect the stories of each citizen. If the official record collection records the "results,"
'COMMONs' chronicles the 'process' of what is born and what continuesThis media is designed to open up the behind-the-scenes conflicts, feelings, visions, and the culture and creativity born from citizens' hands that cannot be fully contained in official records, thereby generating the "continuation of the Expo."25 Futures We Want to Bridge to the Future and 'Everyone's +1' = 26 Stories
In 'COMMONs' ver.1.0, interviews and visuals were featured, focusing on 'Expo pavilions, architecture, and other creative works.'
Includes content centered around the core
The final addition of 25 content projects is planned, bringing the total to "26" parts. This Expo was a collection of countless stories woven by people with diverse perspectives.
There is not a single central point or correct answer, but rather the overlapping contours emerging from each perspective, which I believe was the essence of this Expo.Within that overlap, what appeared was,They record themselves in the form of books and "reunite" at events as a place. The story begins here.

Not just one future, but many "futures"That was the case. They record themselves in the form of books and "reunite" at events as a place. The story begins here.
"The future created by the future."A shared space where diverse visions of the future intersect, and new visions of the future are continuously born from this mixture.(1) Delivering not only through books but also through diverse mediaThis book covers such

"A Shared Land of the Future"
It is created with the aim of creating a place for this purpose.Connecting the processes and knowledge of 25 projects to the future(1) Delivering not only through books but also through diverse mediafocusing on expo pavilions, architecture, and various creative works,
What stories did creators, architects, artists, researchers, and innovators bring to take on this grand project?
The questions behind it, the vision for the future, and the process of trial and error are all shared through beautiful visuals and vivid language, each individual's '
" is recorded as such.
We also include as many sketches and documents as possible during production,We will open up the "trajectory of thought" that cannot be seen from the finished form alone.
And those stories should depict both the challenges that should be left in history and the possibilities for the future.
These records are
For the next generation of creators and artists,Essential knowledge to carve out the futureThat's how it should be.
Passing on the experience of the Expo to the next generation and connecting it to a new future.
That is the form this book aims for.
Please note that participating in this project
Renowned creators, architects, artists, researchers, and innovatorsYour words may reach someone you haven't seen yet and become a hint for the future. We will announce them sequentially.
Please look forward to it.
The last one is everyone's story.
The last one is also your story.
to conclude thisThe 26th piece of content represents the characteristics of this book.
Finally, the "+1" is added. That is,
""
The records left there are not fully contained in official record collections; they represent another aspect of the Expo.
We pick out memories and stories posted from '#わたしの万博物語',
It is included as content born from the hands of citizens.
Out of 26 project records, the final one is a story created by everyone.
25 + 1 = 26。
This "+1" is not just an addition.
This one book,
The most important part for transforming records into "culture" and connecting them to the future beyondThis Expo was a "shared space" that stood up in between the state and citizens, institutions and culture, official and informal, and was a festival created by everyone.
It is not just about the creators; it is also about the visitors, those involved,
It is a "culture" that has been established through the participation and co-creation of each individual.Your words may reach someone you haven't seen yet and become a hint for the future.Includes stories born from citizens' hands, including memories, backgrounds, and processes of the Expo. 「
#みんなの万博物語 also
We will conclude this book with content created together with everyone, such as picking up the items. This is the most important part.
Three Keywords in the Project
This crowdfunding campaign is not just a project to "deliver books." Let me explain using three key words.
(1) Publishing Projects
This crowdfunding project is an important "first step" for the General Incorporated Association COMMONs.
The goal of this project is to pass on the story of the Expo as an 'asset that moves the future.' Twenty-six stories, each accompanied by 'Your Expo,' are woven into a single book by talented creators and you. It should go beyond mere records (archives) and serve as guideposts illuminating future society. Not a record collection,They record themselves in the form of books and "reunite" at events as a place. The story begins here.
We produce books that serve as vessels to pass on the creative process, knowledge, conflicts, and hopes born from the Expo to the next generation
I want to create a book that revives that enthusiasm when children and grandchildren's generation take this book out of their shelves 10, 20 years from now, or perhaps even further into the future.
(2) Open up the process and "participate"
The process of producing the book (formulating editorial policies, discussions at editorial meetings, drafts, etc.) is made public,We will share the trial and error along the path to completion.。 Additionally, at COMMONs, to explore a new future society,
We are envisioning a regularly held research group called the "Open Lab," which integrates online and offline activities
。 Here, visionaries from across boundaries engage in open dialogue.

Since interviews for this book are sometimes conducted within this "Open Lab," supporters
The moment content is born
You will have the opportunity to experience it up close.(3) Holding an "event" to celebrate the project's finaleThis project launched on April 13, exactly one year since the Expo's opening. And by autumn,(1) Delivering not only through books but also through diverse media
We will hold an event that will serve as the finale of this project.
This event is more than just a launch. It is a place for a "reboot" that connects the creativity and relationships born at the Expo to the next future.
Stories recorded in books rise again in real settings, and from there, new projects and encounters are born.Let's create a place here to open the "continuation" of the Expo and then connect it to the next.About ReturnsWe have created courses that allow participants to choose according to their participation style. Whichever course you choose, supporters become part of the "story" within this project. Shall we create the "continuation = future" of the Expo together?【Reader】
