Perhaps they are gunning to kill it completely soon. Though spez the cuck said they won't, he also said he won't kill NoNewNormal and did it a few days later back in 2021.

The shutdown of i.reddit.com

Post by TechLord »

In 2023, they killed i.reddit.com to "streamline the experience" (source). The usual empty justifications filled with corporate buzzwords.

i.reddit.com was the most "streamlined" and lightweight and fastest-loading version of Reddit. It was the original mobile UI, but loaded faster on desktop too. It had less functionality than old.reddit.com and new Reddit, but sometimes that was enough.

It loaded 10 times faster than the current mobile site (a "web app) that is filled with JavaScript bloat.
