To Poly: You’re doing a good job. Appreciate the support. It’s easy to slip up, accidentally. No hard feelings on my end if you have to edit something.

If you think she’s watching, then just do what you were intending to do. Apologize. Even if it’s an empty room. They might not understand completely but Pokémon are at least good enough at reading body language and emotions that the intent should come across even if not your exact words. Yeah sure they didn’t like your gifts. If I had to guess, it was probably some combination of them not liking you and/or not liking the gifts. No idea why, but I will share an anecdote.

I recently rescued an egg that hatched into a Mimikuyu. The little thing still hasn’t made a proper disguise. It’s just in the same towel I threw over it so I didn’t get cursed when it hatched. It might be a bit dumb. Not sure really. My point being, maybe this Froslass likes other stuff.

Similarly, the Purrloin my parents sometimes have me watch is unlike any feline Pokemon you’ve ever seen. Never gets into trouble. Only wants cuddles and their food when hungry. Watch any Purrloin video on line - always a trouble maker or hunting something. Princess just isn’t like that, and she’d probably just ignore it if you tried to get her a hunting-related toy.

Maybe try not to stereotype. We might be the most intelligent dominant species on this planet, but the variance in personalities we have has little to do with intelligence. If I were to guess, the same can be said for Pokemon.

I will say, you have my respect for going straight to the Froslass instead of giving your friend the gifts. It’s a more meaningful gesture. Though if you want to give or do something that would actually make them happy - ask your friend. He’d probably know better what would make his Pokemon happy than random web searches, overpriced scam shops, and random strangers on the internet.

Listen, I know I said a lot of things that could be taken as hurtful just now towards the two of you. I want to be clear that I’m 100% twisting the truth like a madman to try to trigger at least some level of self-reflection in Susan. Help her become less of a bitch.

Susan: Ugh... I'll try it to the empty room if I have to, but I really don't want to roll the dice on it being a waste. Apologies are meant to be eye to eye; it's what I was taught, and what works. As to the gifts, why didn't it want the treats even if it liked the smell? That doesn't make sense. The bit about not liking me is fair though... but that's what I'm trying to make up for!

I appreciate your personal experience, and I understand that pokemon are individuals that can vary, but just as in humans, they have a nature. There's only so far they can deviate. It's not about stereotyping, it's about poke-psychology. Still, I'll... try.

Thank you for the respect. And I will go to my friend if I have to, but I want to see if it'll approach me first and I won't have to.

They could be on a special diet or have a restriction or something. Lots of things smell good that you’re not allowed to eat. Like gluten or lactose for some people. I wouldn’t overthink it.

Try to do what you think is best. As someone who used to be of the Arceist faith but left for personal reasons, I still believe that what matters the most is whether you genuinely attempt to make amends and seek reconciliation. So I hope your heart is in the right place. Don’t try to force it if they aren’t ready, but if they are watching you then that tells me they are likely on the fence. Or they’re hunting.

And yeah maybe a face to face apology is the ideal, but we don’t always get what we want in life. And things don’t always work out for the best.

Susan: Huh. Alright, point taken; I hadn’t considered health related blocks. Maybe it would really be better to just ask…

I will, though I’ve learned in the past that what I think is right isn’t always in actuality. And I truly am trying to make up for what I did. I guess we’ll see where it really is on me.

As to unideal, I get that, I just want to make sure I do everything I can for the ideal before I settle for less.

In this incremental game, you must make $1M in each room to win...

Instead of gifts try talking to the Froslass, try to get to know it.

Susan: I... one sided conversations have never been my strong suit, and it doesn't seem to want to talk, considering it left through wall.

I think I know that Froslass. The full story is a bit complicated and you probably wouldn't believe it anyway, so I'll just say this: don't assume you know what's best for a Pokémon you barely know.

Susan: I'm not saying I know what's best for it, I just want to make up with it is all. I thought gifts known to work would well, work.

... Maybe leave her alone?

... If a Froslass is offended by your presence... Just let her have some space... Don't take it personally...

Susan: I... I want to make up for things though, and I don't want this to become a lasting gap between me and my friend. I get why it could be offended by my presence, but I'm going to be staying the night anyway. Surely we have to work things out at some point?

... Try speaking to him. Maybe he can help you set boundaries to follow. Froslass like their space. This one might like it especially given her recent brush with your bitch sister. I was at that fight, cheering them on for their side. It must have been incredibly stressful for her.

  • Lisa

Probably best to leave her alone, if a Pokémon, ghosts especially, don't like you, DON'T try to force it, if she feels like it, she will start to approach. For the time being, guess one of you will have to use the couch.

-Jazz

Jazz simply leaves the link to this post in Kate's messages.

Edited

Susan: I... I'll give it some time, but I'd really rather take care of this sooner, rather than later. Especially since I'm going to be sleeping here. But why would one of us need to use the couch? It's just me and my friend in a house for 6.

Huh....forgot how big the house is, guess you will have a place to sleep.

/uj I genuinely forgot that the house is massive

I mean some pokémon don’t like to be treated like mindless animals. This Froslass might be one of them. - Fin

Consider, perhaps, That not all of Us are willing to accept gifts as a half-assed apology for being treated as an object to be bought and sold. Instead, try genuinely apologizing.

And I doubt She's stalking You, I'm surprised She tolerated Your presence in Her space at all.

First off all slight correction

"She" not "it"

We're not talking about an object here and all Frostlass are (biologically) female.

Secondly

As you have probably already noticed this one has a bit more of a personality than your average Lass. So try getting to know her. (pokes often understand a lot more than you might think.) Frostlass are very clever and often understand human speech beyond combat commands even in the wild cuz they need it if they wish to hunt men.

She might not be able to speak in a way you understand but she can still response to stuff like yes or not questions. If she is ready to, don't try to force it, you're dealing with a creature who feeds on souls. You do NOT want to be on her bad side. I don't think she'll lash out but being considerate shows respect, and mutual respect builds trust, trust builds friendship.

Thirdly

The room you found her in might have been the room of the girl that went missing, not sure if they want anyone to use that room yet as to some giving away the room of a missing person is admitting they're dead or at least never returning. (This differs between cultures and families tho but it's just a good gesture to ask these sorts of things when you know a family is dealing with something)

-David Roadway (owner of Roadway Transport and Delivery)

Susan: Oh, greetings Mr. Roadway. I've heard talk of you over the dinner table (though not always in the positive). A pleasure to meet you all the same, even if it is over the net.

As to the pronouns... I... I know. It's something I need to work on, but it's hard to unlearn years of it.

I didn't really notice that, no. I only had Shauntal's Froslass to compare it to, so I had no idea of the base line. And I'd to try to get to know it if she'd have stayed in the room in talked, but that's not what happened. What you're saying about Froslass does make sense, but... it's still a pokemon.

I'm not trying to force it, but there's only so much I can do when we're not interacting. And being on her bad side is the exact opposite of my goal.

You mean my friend's sister? I doubt that, it very much looks like a boy's room. All black and grey, weird posters, and lots of weird trinkets. But you are right I should ask before I use it... I just thought I'd get a jump on things.

Maybe talk to your friend about her? He might know more. Of course sometimes a Pokémon just isn't going to like you, and you have to respect that. Pushing it too hard might make the Froslass dislike you even more. -Eli

Joseph Amber: Well, for starters…um…there is some more special stuff with this Froslass… in terms of her origins. I can potentially explain them here…but I feel like it would be better in person. Secondly, please refer to Pokémon by their gender if possible instead of “it”. Froslass is 100% female…please use she.

/uj I don’t know if you want someone to explain Kate’s situation here or not, so I left it vague. Just let me know if you want Joseph to try to explain or not.

Susan: I understand that some may dislike my preference in pronouns for pokemon, and I do intend to work on it at some point, but as far as I can tell they never seem to mind, and it's not like i- she's reading this.

Joseph (to Polly): Sorry about that, didn’t know.

Joseph (to Susan): I’m glad you are working on it, and it is certainly possible that they did mind…they just didn’t communicate it in a way you understood. Just…really make sure to use “she” when referring to this Froslass.

Umm, I dunno! I know I really like toys and treats, but they aren't very serious. Maybe she likes serious things?

  • Fluffy

Oh my Arc Fluffy, Tandor is going to enforce its laws regarding you if you don't stop commenting on posts from influential foreigners!

You should understand that Pokémon are more than just their species, we’re all individuals, I’m an early riser who’s usually asleep before sunset for example -Rikyū the Sinistcha

Edited

Lucky: Just because the toys and treats are expensive it dosen't mean that they would like it. Especially if given from someone they already distrust. Some like diffrent things or might be insulted that you tried to "bribe them" into forgetting even if that wasn't your intention.

Honestly the best I would say is to tell them you are truly sorry then let them have their space. Don't try to force anything. If you were mad at someone would you want them to keep pestering you. Same for them most likely. Also DO NOT USE IT... please use she, not an object and frosslasses are 100% female.

I am glad that you are trying to make amends... but next time ASK before saying someone might... be looking to... honestly try not to buy pokemon... and expect to probably not be forgiven immediately. It will take time.

Best advice I can give when dealing with an angry ghost type is to give them space.

If you still want to go the gift route you should ask your friend for the Froslass's own interests, not act just based on the species general interests. Thats usually a good idea, but sometimes the Pokémon doesn't share those general interests of the species. - Mark

Edit: /uj Ok, so, I realized I have put 2 comments after you answered to the other one. This is the comment I wanted to write, the other one got sent half way writing this one when I got distracted and thought I had erased what I had written, didn't think it got sent. Sorry for the possible confusion.

Edited

Susan: Yeah... that seems to be the general consensus. I didn't originally want to bother my friend about it directly, but I'll see if I can nudge it out of him in conversation. That said, your account of pokemon and their interests doesn't track in my experience; at least, I think it's much rarer than you imply.

/uj totally fine!

Some mons are introverted or…struggling with personal issues, to put it lightly. It’s also likely that the whole battle situation has left them more than a bit frazzled. I’d say leave things be for a while, approach Joe about it first. -Paul the Pinsir

The ₩ØⱤĐ "Joe," has been ѕωαρρє∂ with "your friend." To avoid ⱤɆVɆ₳Ⱡł₦₲ K.2's (a.k.a. Kate) presence on chatter. ₴ØⱤⱤɎ for the trouble.

- Polly the Vast

Susan: ...yeah, that's fair; and I suppose you're right about the battle situation, but it has been weeks since that. And, I think I'll do that, considering how much it's being suggested, though I'll try not to be too direct about it with my friend.

Punnai: I'm not really sure how you'd go about calming down a froslass, but I mean, my team tends to like having me talk with them about stuff. Maybe that could help?

Susan: I'm not really the best at talking to pokemon I don't know, and it definitely doesn't seem like it intends to come out and do so.

Odd? Although it makes sense that not all pokemon are a fan of gifts and such. Well, whatever you do, I wish you good luck. -Iris

It's incredibly easy to learn just from a quick internet search that the Froslass here is of the actual ghost type, not just the Ghost Type. As in, you're approaching a former human and treating them like a Pokemon. Honestly, many Pokemon would probably be put off by your behavior--most of them can pick up on at least the sentiment of someone callous enough to call them 'it.' Take a step back, re-evaluate your actions as if you had done them to a very distraught young woman, and think about how said young woman would probably feel about you right now.

How did his sister disappear?
