I Set Up Claude Projects Properly. I Won’t Go Back.
What changes when you stop treating Claude Projects like a labeled chat window and start treating them like a configured collaborator.
I’ve been using Claude Projects for the past few months, and it’s genuinely changed how I work. Before, every new conversation meant starting from zero, and since I mostly use Claude for coding, that means: Re-explaining my tech stack, my coding conventions, and what I had already tried.
That was quite exhausting..
But with Projects, I only need to set up that context once and upload the relevant files; then, every new conversation inside that project picks up all of the context that is already in place.
For a while, that alone felt like enough. My setup was simple and effective. Then I started digging into optimizing my project configuration, and that made me realized that I’d been leaving a lot on the table.
This guide is the exact configuration I landed on after a lot of trial and error. It works across multiple workflows, I tried it with coding, writing, and research and the full setup takes .
Let’s see now how to do that properly in under an hour.
