I remember a friend asking me what the difference was during the 2024 election and I legit just then realized this was a huge misconception. I had to sit them down and show them. Also had to explain to them socialism isn't what they think.

I think a lot of liberals would turn to socialism if they had people around them not shaming them for questioning capitalism and imperialism, but then you have motherfuckers like Ezra Klein.

I've been able to convert some libs here and there in my life, and most of them with shame because they were SUPER libbed up. Like terminally libbed up. But the ones I couldn't, even with kindness, were secretly just Enlightened Centrists. There's no helping some of them.

Yeah there are absolutely some people that can't be reasoned with. I have given up on a few.
The last liberal president walked picket lines with union members, got unemployment (especially among marginalized communities) down to record lows, and passed the Lily Ledbetter Act, Chips and Science Act, and the largest environmental protection act in history. The one before that got 45 million people healthcare and passed Dodd-Frank. The one before that got people family medical leave. Republicans are the problem, and liberals are not center-right.

Someone on threads taught me that liberal is an economic sub class of European capitalism so it’s not there to change the system it’s there to improve the conditions of the system, and that this is problematic because the system was built ground up as a white supremacy government.
I guess it’s like if are sick a liberal will make u chicken soup and make u as comfy as possible so u can have a long happy sick life and a leftist wants to cure the sickness.
