You see this Guava fruit hanging on a branch of the Guava tree.
It’s been in hot demand.
The tree is in front of my house.
There are two guava trees laden with fruit.
Everybody who visits wants to get their hands on the fruits.
“This guava is ripe o, can I pluck it?” Some would ask.
“No, it is not ripe enough!” I would reply.
Some of the guava fruits look big and somewhat ripe, but when you pluck and take a bite, you realize that they are not fully ripe.
Two years ago, the trees were attacked by white flies and other pests and diseases that made the fruits tiny, covered with black scales, and inedible.
I sprayed some pesticides on it in the last quarter of last year.
This year, the tree is blooming.
Family members and I have eaten some.
Visitors and outsiders have eaten some with permission.
Some strangers have stolen some fruits.
Everyone just wants to get their hands on it.
Everyone knows that Guava is packed with vitamin C, potassium, iron, and calcium.
Nutrients that support the heart, digestion, and other body systems.
If you visit my house today and point to a guava fruit and ask to pluck it.
I would exclaim, “No, it is not yet ripe!”
These guava trees must be protected at all cost.
Do you like Guavas?
