Application fees are charged differently depending on the nature of the application. At this point, international applicants are not charged application fees if they are applying:
- through a registered Agent
- under an Articulation Agreement with partner institutions
- through Study Abroad Agreements
- as NZ Aid Scholarship applicants.
Application fees are non-refundable and only charged once, regardless of the number of applications, and the outcome of your applications, for the same semester. For example, if you applied for Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Health Sciences in Semester One, you would only have to pay one application fee.
The fees may be charged a second time for applications to subsequent semesters. For example, when assessment of new qualifications completed outside of the University of Auckland is required.
Please be aware that when you Apply to Study and tick the declaration, you are agreeing to pay any application fees incurred. For more information, see Applicant Declaration.
You should only pay a fee once it has been charged. Please note, fees are posted to your account at the time of assessment and displayed in your account as due. Invoices are not sent out by email or post.
Domestic Applicants:
- If your highest qualification, gained or attempted, is from an overseas secondary school including International Baccalaureate, the application fee amount is NZ $85.
- If your highest qualification, gained or attempted, is from an overseas tertiary institution, the application fee amount is NZ $100.
- If you are applying to be considered under Discretionary Entrance or Special Admission, the application fee amount is NZ $60.
International Applicants:
- If your highest qualification, gained or attempted, is from an overseas secondary school including International Baccalaureate, the application fee amount is NZ $85.
- If your highest qualification, gained or attempted, is from an overseas tertiary institution, the application fee amount is NZ $100.
Exclusions
You will be excluded from paying an application fee if:
- You are applying with study from another New Zealand tertiary institution (unless also applying for credit)
- You are applying with study from the University of Auckland International College (Auckland)
- You are applying through Study Abroad agreements
- You are applying as an NZ School Leaver
