Bangladesh is set to introduce Mandarin Chinese as a mandatory third language in schools, starting from Class 6. The move means students will now study Mandarin alongside Bengali and English, reflecting the country’s growing ties with China and the increasing importance of Chinese in global trade, business, and technology.

If Bangladeshi kids are familiar with Mandarin it will be lot easier for them to educate themselves (higher) or work in China...along with US, Europe or Canada...
That way they will bring home high technical knowledge or if they settle in China...they will have job oppourtunities and send remmitance back home

I think the 3rd language should be the choice of the students.
Even though Mandarin is the 2nd most spoken language in the world, it's because of the sheer number of CHINESE people that speak it, unlike English, which is universal (I mean we speak it here on earth
